Change of season is coming in with a rush. It was a pretty, sunny day here today.

I saw the moon rise last 2 nights and I believe it does look bigger too.

Congratulations Indiana on being able to get to the dining room. Congratulations Jake on your new crate. Thats great.

I've had a big day today.
church. Borrowed a book from the church library.
A pretty sunny day. Drove to the coast via senic farm route. Stopped off at markets .. realised I had just $5 + few coins in my purse. Just bought water.
Returned bulb and bought the right one for fish tank light. (fish are swimming much happier now with lots of plants and light. new food too)
Went for lunch at major shopping center. Salad and chicken. Also bought a savory GF muffin for later.
Walked over S am's. bought a large tub I'll use weeding - things that need to die off before binning. A couple of stainless steel plates to replace the enamel ones I tossed. Supermarket for bananas.
To the beach. Sat on a dune to eat muffin. Caution flags were flying and volunteer life savers were trying to keep swimmers between the flags. A narrow bit of ocean in messy seas with rips on either side. Even standing in the water - blowing whistles, chasing folk back between the red and yellow flags. A strong sweep thru to the north. Watched a rescue of a group of 4 swimmers who didn't bother with the swim between the flags thing. lifesavers = 2 w boards. 2 w tubes (a metre long 3x4 inch floating device). 2 in a rubber ducky. Lots of trips for the boards bringing one back in at a time - who had trouble getting back to shore . Including one last time for one of the life savers with a tube.
To electrical store. My first flash drive. A replacement camera. Disappointingly - Prev one decided "enough" when I tried take grandchildren photos last easter holiday visit.

It is sunny here too. Second day in a row and it is nice for those who work regular hours to have a sunny weekend.

The extra brightness of the moon threw dh for a loop when he went downstairs in the dark - the tree outside the kitchen was so illuminated he thought I had left the back door light on. Nope - just the moon (which is on the other side of the house.)

Another short night but not as bad as Friday. I set the alarm for 7 hours sleep and dh woke me up 40 minutes early having misread his clock and thinking my alarm hadn't gone off. I made it perfectly clear that he was welcome to sneak out of bed when he woke up but I was turning off the timed light (which comes on at 6) and waking up 7 hours after turning out the light. He slept until my alarm as well so he obviously needed more sleep too.

Everything I'm reading about this bleeding points to needing more sleep, not because of anemia (I don't have that) but because 8 - 10 hours of sleep a night helps produce more progesterone. So if I want to increase it naturally, more sleep is important.

Busy day today but since there's a lot of eating, I'm on the treadmill now. Dh is taking the day off the bike. (Another sign he's too tired.)

I'm up, dressed and ready for church. DSonIL is taking us to breakfast first so I'm ready.

I hear water dripping in the shower -have to go make sure that's off.

GD is visiting friends and won't be home until this afternoon so we've had a quiet weekend. She left about 7:30 yesterday morning. She was at the Relay for Life with DD until about 10 Friday night so I haven't seen her at all since I picked her up from school on Friday. DD was exhausted yesterday and had blisters on her toes from all the walking Friday night. A friend from school took her clothes shopping yesterday. She got several outfits for a little over $100 (at K o h l s). She's been giving away clothes nearly weekly. She still has a ways to go but now has some clothes that definitely fit much better and she looks great. Know she's lost over 60 so far. People up home will sure be surprised as no one knows she's dropped this much. She did say last night my clothes size now starts with a 1 instead of a 2!!

Gotta run. Have a good day. Sure we're going to be doing shirts for the remainder of the day once we get home from church.

I have a little extra time to spend preparing lunch today so the menu is chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes/gravy, broccoli & cheese sauce, green salad. Not entirely healthy but definitely maxed out in the comfort food category.

The couch and chair cover needs to be removed then I'm done in the living room.
I slept well again so that is good news.
It was only 30* last night glad I brought in one of the tomato plants! Br-r!

I enjoyed the moon finally remembered to look at it last night it did look bigger to me and brighter we had a few clouds and it was cool looking out!

Today after church is a brief business meeting to get a committee so they can do business like elect elders, create a church board, and select a committee to choose a pastor and do other business. I'm still not sure if we are going to it or not yet.

I was up[ later than usual last night so I slept in a little later this morning.

It is a bright sunny day here. We are expecting that to change tonight with the same forecast as the other night:

very heavy rainfall (1" - 3") with localized flash flooding
hail the size of quarters
wind in excess of 60 mph
isolated tornadoes

so it isn't going to be nice beginning late this afternoon.

I'm not going to brunch. I have my sandwich from last night and onion petals and a salad from the other night. For dinner I'll have fruit and yogurt.

Harriet I didn't answer question about the fry pan. When a non-stick fry pan gets older eggs are the first thing to stick. If spray doesn't work then oil or butter or a combination.

Non-stick fry pans as with wooden utensils and sharp knives shouldn't be put in the dishwasher. I don't put my pots and pans in at all nor my baking sheets. They lose the "seasoning". Try seasoning your fry pan similar to the way you season an iron skillet.

High temperatures and non-stick spray will also over time make things stick.

Thank you, Indiana. I finally found a website for these products and can't really find an explanation there. They say it is dishwasher safe, but say don't do much of that because like you mentioned, it will affect the finish. But neither HRH nor I can remember times it was put in the dishwasher at all - it's cumbersome to try to put a frying pan in, in the first place, so I think in terms of protecting other items and wash frying pans by hand.

I thought maybe going over to coconut oil to fry (many months ago) had been wrong, but they say coconut oil is their preferred oil. They also deny that high temps will bother this pan up to 800 degrees - so who knows. Time and continued use are the answers, I suppose. I expect cookware to last forever, like my copper-bottom pots and my pyrex. This pan is only supposed to cost $13 retail, they say, but they can't provide a name for a retailer except for a 10-piece set at $80, which I don't need, so I'll probably go over to the next small frying/omelet pan I find that "speaks" to me when I see it! I do like the enameled-interior type, at least while they are in their prime!

I like Chrome - I never think about it any more, so that must be high praise. I like that when I open a new tab there are 8 large screen-shots of recent images of my 8 most-visited sites, so that I visualize accurately whether I want to go there. This is especially good for a news site, because I can see how tragic or shocking it was yesterday and ask myself if I'm sure I'm ready for it today!!! HRH tells me to say to you, "faster, smaller footprint, haven't had many viruses" (upon questioning, "smaller footprint" defined as "doesn't take up many resources" )

For 7 years I shared a desk at our large regional newspaper with 2 other people. (It's true you can't be at a desk much if you are covering stories, but mostly I was just not very important ! ) Anyway, the guy who was important enough to have the desk beside us all to himself (there are no walls in a newsroom, even if it takes up nearly the whole floor) had a long, happy career there spanning several decades and his last column is today. Kinda makes me feel sad. He was my contemporary and I always liked him, remember how he got disciplined one time with a lay-off, lol, (not mentioned in his memory-filled last column, lol). Kind of an end of an era for me, since now I only know 2 or 3 people who still write there.
