Re: MISSION MONDAY
I had done a whole new topic and then called dh to ask a question. 32 minutes later I realized my post was still sitting waiting to be submitted. I copied it and went to make sure no one else had posted in the meantime. Tried to paste and it just wouldn't come up. Oh well.
My mission today is finish getting ready for our trip north and going to say some goodbyes. Going to an outlet store and lunch with DSisIL and her 2 sisiters. One (who has advanced lymphoma) has to have a pic line flushed at the cancer center and then we're going on for the day. DSisIL has to take her to Moffitt in Tampa tomorrow -all day- so I know I won't get to see her tomorrow. And...we're leaving early afternoon on Wednesday (hopefully). DD's co-teacher plans to take dd's last class as long as the principal okay's it. Sure there won't be a problem there.
DD looked pretty classy in some of her new clothes this morning. Her weight loss is really beginning to show, especially in newer, better fitting clothing.
Think I'll get a LOL going and get myself moving. I've done most of my morning routine. Been up since 4:45 really. Ugh! I'll need a nap this afternoon.
DH told me we'd need to go out for dinner on Friday or go shopping. Which do you think it will be? Especially after 10-12 hours of being in the car that day. I'm really hoping they have a lot more done on route 15 going up through PA & NY. Dawned on me that there was quite a bit more done 13 months ago when I last traveled it. So, I'm assuming it should be even more now. Plan is to spend Wed. night with db/dsil in the Villages and leave there by 7am on Thursday. I'm sure we can pretty well make it to VA, God willing, by Thursday night. The trip home from there is not all that long, but probably about 10-11 hours. Still longer than I want to be in the car.

Re: MISSION MONDAY
My mission is to see what trouble I can get into. I feel ornery.
We had a wild storm last night dropping about 3 - 6 inches of rain.
Our city had significant street flooding. Several inches of water was flowing down the streets with manhole covers blown off spewing water everywhere.
Around us there were road closures. The milk man said the roads are still bad.
Our pond is high. I would guess about 3 feet. I found something to visually mark the current height and I'll see when it goes down how close my guess was.
Our security man worked a double last night and he said alarms were going off everywhere. I reported one alarm this morning when I came in from walking Jake.
He was in his hiding places last night. He doesn't like thunder. As long as there is something over his head he is fine. I put a cover over his crate and he like that as a new place to go.

Re: MISSION MONDAY
LucyLee, I have sort of solved the problem of liking the taste of Mt D e w. I found at 1 local Wal mart the 12 pk cans of Diet CAFFEINE free Dew. I've only been able to buy it at one though, the others don't seem to carry it. I bought a few cases to take home with me. I also like diet S prite R uby Splash but they haven't had that down here since about the middle of LAST winter. So I'll have that over the summer up home -providing they still have it. You're right BTW, there is excitement in me thinking and preparing to go home. I've noticed I'm much more ambitious! Now to figure out how to maintain that when we come back next year. (Perhaps gd will be a NEW person and I won't have that depressing side of being down here? I can hope and pray -a lot!
There's a lot of people praying for her so hopefully someone UP THERE will get ahold of her soon.)
Talked to dh for over 1/2 hour today. I had asked him what he thought of going without cable up there. He finally got the TVs working so he now has 22 channels. Told me I was reading his mind -again. The only upper channel he really wants mostly is the speed channel. So we'll see how it goes. I'll have to get the internet turned back on, but at least that's not $170/month!
I'm sure it's going to be more than we were paying with a 'bundle' but still cheaper. And perhaps we can find something different this summer.
Time to finish getting ready to go to W world. Have a list for there. DD and I are going to P u b l i x tonight and will get groceries for dsonil and things we still need for the shower.
I'm off>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

Re: MISSION MONDAY
Looking in from work - very slow time of the year for me right now and I hate go to work when things are slow!
Need to set my "mission" this week as temple biz - since tax season ended I've done plenty, but there's lots of catch up to do with our fiscal year starting May 1.
Also, time just keeps going (imagine that!) and I've done very little of decluttering for our move, which looks like it may be the end of June. And things only got worse with the stuff the kids brought home!

Re: MISSION MONDAY
Today I have granny duty H. and dd both are working on helping sil with a roof. H. does clean up
dd straps on the safety harness and goes up on the roof. I'm glad we are going to be having some better weather this week. Dgd & I will go on a walk to see the new baby horse I spotted on a walk yesterday not far from the baby goats, there are new calves on that street as well!
Glad the house is as neat as it is today after the non-showing. One house up the street is off the mkt. after they had sewer put in they must have had problems. It was after a bad rain storm and flooding in the area here.
I think my mission will be to enjoy the weather and do more weeding get out side after it warms up.

Re: MISSION MONDAY
Peeking in. . . I'm grumpy today, so my mission is to be positive and turn my grumps into cheers.
We are gray and damp today, but we didn't have the rains Indiana had. We had some light patters of rain last night. We did get up into the 80s twice? last week, up to 88 one day. I don't think we're going to be that warm this week, though.
D (not dear) dog left a present at the foot of the stairs sometime during the night.
She was grazing yesterday on the spilled chicken feed left in the grass after the coop was moved, effectively adding bulk and fiber to her diet. Yay. Dh cleaned it up this morning.
I have a dental appt. for a small filling at noon. Not looking forward to that. It is at the gum line on a back molar. Bleh. I don't usually get cavities. Then, I will pick up dd16 at 1:10 and take her to her pedi. endocrinology appt. I hope to be home around 3 pm b/c I may then need to provide dd13 a ride home at 3. Dh would like to go jogging with me later today. Then, the kids and I will eat an early dinner so I can take dd13 to her Youth symphony orchestra rehearsal at 7. I'll pick her up at 9. Dh is out to a work-related dinner tonight.
I need to get in my Monday groc. run this morning so I'm off to do that. I made a menu plan and list last night.
Remodel project is still not done, but it is looking very nice.

Re: MISSION MONDAY
My mission today is to do everything on Mondays list. I have made lists for each day this week. If I can stick to them, it should reduce the last minute stress of leaving home for 10-11 days. Dh has figured that it is about 3200 miles round trip. Ugh! I hate to travel but enjoy the experience once we get where we are going. While in Baltimore we will be going to an Orioles-Yankees ballgame. We will be in one of those skyboxes that you see on TV with a buffet and bar. The next night we will be on a dinner cruise of the Chesapeake Bay. The vendors are always generous and offer some really neat excursions. After we leave Baltimore, we are driving to Charlotte, NC to go to the Nascar All Star Race. We are really excited about it and bought pit passes. Our hotel is very close to the Nascar Hall of Fame. When we leave there it is at least 2 full days of driving to get home.
Guess I better get started on todays list.

Re: MISSION MONDAY
Good Morning!
Lots of missions in the planning stage today. BWTG!
I'm also planning a trip but on a MUCH smaller scale than many of you. Early tomorrow LO and I will travel 4 hours to care for DGS5 and DGD1. After making the drive, I will immediately go into Nana mode caring for/playing with 5,3,1 year olds for the next 8 hours. It will be a long day but full of fun!
We will return home on Wednesday with hopes of making it back by 3pm in time to pick up DGS17 and DGS15 from school. 8 hours of driving over a 2 day time frame is easily done, however it goes better if I plan some activities to keep Mr 3 year old occupied/distracted.
