Our basement was smelling a bit so I ran the dehumidifier today and only gathered about 1.5" of water in the container but it smells better already. Unfortunately, our electricity usage is up 50% as a result. I think I'll try running just a fan tomorrow and see if that gets the same results. Without our computers in the basement office and without us moving around down there on a regular basis, I find the basement gets mustier than it did when the office was in the basement.
My meeting tonight was really long. But my proposal was passed unanimously (to give our church musician a 2.5% raise for each year she has been with us.) I made myself cry during devotions - not a good thing.
I remembered to wear my heart rate monitor all day and timed our afternoon walk. We only go 1.7 miles, not the 2 I thought, but we do it at 3.4 mph and my heart rate was high for most of it so I don't need to feel guilty about how many points I give myself for the walk.
Tomorrow has been mussed up so now I'm going to a choir practice, sans dh, at 10:30. He's going to a movie with ds instead after accepting the choir practice and lunch out invitation. So now I have this big time chunk that I had avoided going to stuck into my schedule (dh accepted while I was out this afternoon on behalf of both of us and then cancelled.) Plus I have no way except walking to get home from the next village, so I'll be walking home. The people I'm with are all staying on for a presentation in the afternoon and I don't want to spend even more time on that. Our musician will give me a lift over and I may skip my workout tomorrow morning since I'll be walking after lunch.
To say I'm annoyed is an understatement since I had worked so hard to avoid going out for lunch in the middle of my last uninterrupted day at home and now it isn't just lunch but basically from 10:30 until 2. Plus the calories for lunch out.

Re: Thursday's Thirst for Knowledge
YES!! We have the beginning of a fence!! Four fellas worked today and got about 2/3 of the poles set into concrete. After making the changes to get the project done immediately, we are fencing in about 2 acres for LO to play in (300' x 300'). I wonder what it will feel like to walk outside and not start watching to make sure Mr 3 year old doesn't go toward the road??
We decided to cut down a couple trees when I realized how close to the new fence line they were. DH and I worked on that most of the evening. I had the fire pit going to burn as much as possible but it will take several days to get it all burned.

OH MY... I LOVE MY CORTISONE SHOT!
I know I probably am not even feeling the full effect of it yet, (as far as the sinus & allergy relief) but I got a shot around 9:00 a.m. this morning and WOW.
I left school @ 3:45 this afternoon...
went to two drug stores...
post office..
jewelry store, which is about a 30 minute trip...
(this was for graduation gifts that had been engraved)
got supper for us & dmil...
delivered to dmil..
came home, ate...
wrapped two Mother's Day gifts...
found gift bag for birthday gift...
talked to daunt on phone...
talked to dsgmother on phone...
talked to dcousin on phone...
(all this about the baby shower)
talked to dmom on the phone...
(to tell her how much I LOVE MY CORTISONE SHOT!)
washed three loads of clothes...
hung two loads of clothes to dry...
(third load in washer now)
addressed Mother's Day card to dsgmother...
talked to dh until I know he was about crazy...
posted all this to y'all...
WOW!!!
I wish I had done this two weeks ago. I wish I could do this once a MONTH!!! WOW.
I know the current euphoria WILL wear off... and I will probably gain even MORE weight... but oh my... this energy sure is great while it lasts.
It is ALMOST worth the discomfort of the DOG, just to get this energy boost.
I'm not sure it's ALL dog, either, b/c I found out that I had my last cortisone shot on May 11, 2011. SO.... there is definitely a pattern to this. Plus, as ds pointed out tonight, I HAVE spent that much time in their house before, and I have sat on the couch before.
However, as Harriet said, I am VERY aware that this is partly a housekeeping/dog bathing issue and believe me, I AM treading VERY VERY carefully. I am also praying that once the baby arrives, they WILL become more... shall we say, AWARE of such things. * sigh * Y'all would be very proud of me, and how carefully I am treading.
I have to go flip the laundry.
I can't sit still.
I am trying to cuop but I can't think very well. This must be what kids with ADHD are going through 24/7.
I'll bbl...
Here I go...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~WHeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!~~~~~~~~
* Oh -- I promise -- I have had NOTHING mind-altering except the shot this morning.
LOL!Harriet wrote:I'll have what she's having.
I let adrenaline carry me through and got another load of laundry washed and into the dryer. While it was in the washer, I dusted and vacuumed the main floor, washed the foyer and kitchen floors and pulled down and had dh put away our front porch Christmas lights.
Now I'm writing our musician, telling her not to pick me up tomorrow, that I'm not going to come.
I still have the US currency transactions to fully document and have to download 24 bank statements for our US accountants. Plus I have to sort through my summer clothes since I don't have 90 degree clothing suitable for the conference next week. I have my two African sundresses but neither is suitable to wear in a church.
I gave dh a large portion of my mind, telling him how I resented him booking us and then canceling out, leaving me to go. All without really asking me until after he had made the arrangements. It makes me want to not ever leave the house without him because I don't know what he is going to arrange while I'm out.
Anyway, now my main floor is cleaner. I still have the basement to do (and it is a HUGE job because ds's furniture has yet to be put away in the storage area.) But that can wait until tomorrow night or perhaps Saturday. I sure hope dh remembers he promised to clear the gutter tomorrow. If it doesn't get done by him, I'll have to do it because the water pours down against the foundation and then seeps in. I'm pretty sure that's why the basement is smelling right now.
ROFLOL!!!!I'll have what she's having.
I don't know what they put in this shot, but it IS good stuff. ALL my laundry is done * except what I wore today and my bras! * Now how did I forget THEM? I mean, it's not like I'm having any sort of brain spaz or anything... * sheesh *
I'm kinda winding down now, though, I think. I hope I WILL be able to sleep.
Sounds like you've been pretty productive, anyway, Kathryn, w/out the artificial boost.
See, that's the thing -- ALL of you ladies put me to shame most days anyway.
Well -- ALL days.
I have not mentioned the dusty floors, etc.
And btw -- how would I ever BEGIN to criticize ds/ddil's housekeeping??? I mean, after all, they did live HERE for about six months. They know I don't exactly have the vacuum cleaner attached to my arm.
Going to bed now -- as soon as I hang 4th load of laundry, & brush my teeth. Good night!
Tomorrow is another day.
