Bittersweet, how is your bite wound healing? When he first got our second in command dd Moses, we had a bit of a power struggle for alpha dog, and I got caught in the middle and bitten once. Still
have 1/2 scar just above my wrist bone, and it sure did hurt. Got a round of antibiotics too.
You know, I'm kicking myself for the lack of progress on decluttering here, but the truth is that there's a whole lot more of just trying to maintain since the kids got home.
this time:
-put out bag for postal food drive today
-make the bed
-"hit" list for rest of the day
-more kitchen table clearing
-head upstairs to make cards
Weird dreams all night - after two deaths in the congregation, I dreamed of another - a person close to our age. Very weird.

Helia, May is as bad as December for lots going on - school and extracurricular programs, graduation, winding up of school with trips, projects, softball/baseball, and then all the regular weekly activities.
Amen, Twins. I forgot that dd13 has a field hockey game tomorrow late afternoon too.
Dfriend is here. She brought over some awesome baklava. Yum!! I still need to shower and make a fruit salad for small group. We're leaving in about 45 minutes.

Re: Good Vibrations Saturday
Oh dear Gussie. DS is cleaning his room. That means that he's putting shirts/clothes/stuffed animals to give away into garbage bags, and pulling stuff out of his closet that I had stored since babyhood (silver cups, engraved silver hair brush and comb, baby china, some selected baby clothes, his Taikwondo top with his name) and telling me he doesn't want them in his room anymore. It's all good, just leaves more for me to deal with and it has to be done either way. He just brought me a model McKee Baking (Little Debbie) truck that dh received or purchased at some time. Dh is as bad as my parents at the hording stuff.
I need to make three cards if I'm able - graduation, a baby card, and wedding card. I have a Mother's day card that I made a couple of years and ago and misplaced before I gave it, so that's good.
On to the cards.

Re: Good Vibrations Saturday
Dh & I spent a fun morning going to several estate/yard/garage & barn sales, plus church flea market. I happened to see a sign for an estate sale the other day while driving & looked on C raigslist to see if anything else was around. I wrote down a list last night of what order to go where. Three were in a neighboring town, the others in our town. We move fast
& after an early start were home before noon. I told dh we can't make a habit of this because I came home with 3 old cookbooks! They're fun to browse through.
From "The Modern Method of Preparing Delightful Foods" by Ida Bailey Allen, Copyrighted 1927 (It's a tiny little 4x6 inch hardcover book):
"Are you tired of cooking?
Bored by the thought of spoons, flour, and bowls?
Is your family listless at mealtimes?
Have they lost interest in the same old foods?
If any of this is true --- you need to cook new things."
Getting a jump on laundry this afternoon. Dh is napping so I'll take advantage of the quiet & get a little deskwork done before dinner. We're having BLTs. Be back later this weekend to cuop.
Waving ~~~~~to everyone!

Re: Good Vibrations Saturday
Quick post while my nails dry.
Productive day but I'm wiped. Got out the door at 7, dropped dh at airport, on to church plant sale (at a farm) and did cash (I'm useless with plants!) Left there at 11:30 because they didn't need me to help clean up at 12 so I had a quick lunch, did two loads of laundry, finished vacuuming the basement (and putting making up the bed down there), weeded for 1.5 hours and then s2s before doing a pedicure and throwing clear nail polish on my pathetic finger nails. They have been breaking like crazy for about 8 months now (although they did grow out during the cruise so I'm sure housework plays a large role in that.)
I'm heading out for dinner in 30 minutes so need to find a top and put on sandals. I think I've picked my outfits for the trip but I still have to practice pack to make sure everything fits in the suitcase. I'm now officially feeling ill (normal when I'm going away - I'm not really sick, I just feel really sick.)

Glad you are Bogarting Humphrey, bittersweet. He will do well with some one-on-one time with you in relative seclusion.
My ddad had a bad morning. Almost changed our plans because of it but HRH insisted he could handle things. So dd and I went to the mall as she'd been hoping all week -
. I remain as unimpressed as ever (worked at one for 3 years, so ... yawn...), even though Anth ropologie is a beautiful place to wander.
We bought a tiny bag's worth in the whole mall, but I am glad we finally found the right color tights for a bit-too-short church dress for dd. Matched it to a hairband as well, and bought a ready-made donut-shape hair thingie to wear at night and produce curls in the a.m. (Saw a homemade one out of a rolled-up man's sock on Pinter est that seemed to do a great job - this will be air-ier for fast drying.) In Anthr oplogie, bins and piles of amazing cabinetry knobs of every variety from $6 up (pricey but so nice). Wish I could have had Emptynester with me to see - we could have hefted them all and considered all the types against the use she has for her furniture.
Tried to eat together a lunch from different spots along the food court, but that's so impossible. Dd's was ready fast and mine took so long I told her to go ahead and eat.

Re: Good Vibrations Saturday
I'm feeling better than when I first got up today yea for that. I went to a yard sale and got a free book read it. Gardened got a spot ready to move the irises to when they are done blooming yellow ones will go in the back corner that I weeded and spaded up, purple ones will go in the front where the yellow ones were. I have a stray one on the side yard that's a mix of yellow and purple it's interesting will put it in the back.
I'm pondering this I have two volunteer roses that will go in the back corner as well unless I change my mind!
I transplanted grass to the spot I took rocks out from under the arbor seems to do better than trying to seed it b/c of all the foot traffic. I weeded some in the front and under the lilac bush as well this one is nearly as tall as the house.
Neighbors had on some nice music I enjoyed while I was working in the yard. I also emptied the bucket we keep the ash from the grill in some plants really like it more than others. I took out some volunteer seedlings too.
Lunch is done. But some one needs to clean up in the kitchen!

Re: Good Vibrations Saturday
Back from dinner, heading to bed soon.
Ds and I walked through the IKEA to see what was new. I bought a lamp shade.
I remembered to gas up the car for the drive tomorrow.
Ds was late getting to the restaurant so I used a napkin and made note of all that I need to pack. And I had an extra 10 minutes before leaving so refilled my toiletries. So I'm progressing.

Re: Good Vibrations Saturday
Quiet day here. I had a late late night last night, so not too much sleep. I had to take a nap this afternoon to catch up.
Let's see, what did I do today. Hmmm, not much on the list today. Our Tenant came over and paid the rest of this month's rent. They are having a tough time, but got caught up with me at least.
Oh, I did get 2 LOL done and hung up and brought back in. Not put away yet though.
I've been sewing off and on. Dinner / dishes, the usual, nothing too earthshattering today.
My Good Vibration was my DD and DGSs Mother's Day card which arrived with gift card to my very favorite restaurant. Decided we would use it next weekend when the crowd thins out.
Tonight I gave DH a haircut. Not a shaggy dog anymore.
OKay, I'll have to time those sheets. I think though it's not the time it takes, but the awkwardness of picking up heavy mattress and tucking sheets in, lots of time when I used to have more back problems than recently that really hurt. How is your fence coming?
Bittersweet, enjoy your 2 weeks off!
Happy travels, everyone who is traveling.
I Hope Dee has arrived safely. (Hugs) for all the things you've been going through.
I need to go wash dishes.

Bed-making instructions from dr.:
Harmony, do you remember me posting the bed-making instructions from my dr when I had to go to him for hurt back?
Bend at knees to get your grip to lift mattress, then lift your head to look straight at the wall, THEN lift.
Glad you feel better, Nancy. When you spade up the iris, will you divide them now?
It's nearly 11 and dd's hair is still quite wet from washing hours ago. Sigh. Her hair is getting thick, I guess. It used to be so thin I couldn't find barrettes that would hold! Anyway, it needs to dry so that I can put it up in her new whatsit, and see the look for church in the morning. She shouldn't stay up too late tonight because she needs a strict schedule of early bedtime by next school week, which is exams.
She is happy with final AR and tossed "Around the World in 80 Days" (paperback) into the air when I picked her up from school, LOL. Last book of AR forever. (You guys won't have to listen to me complain any more.) She made a 100 on that according to the computer dictator
, and left AR with a 9.6 grade level of the books she's read.
She actually adores Jules Verne's writing, though, and says everyone should read "Around the World" because it is so much fun after you get used to the way it's written/translated. So much more romantic than people would think, she says. One thing I noticed in the parts I heard from her was "politically incorrect" stuff all over the place, but it was written in the 1800s, after all.
I think something is stealing eggs.
Last time something was stealing eggs it was a long black something that scared me to pieces.
Ds27 came by trying to find a trailer hitch, searching the storage barn with a flashlight. He found something that will work but not what he really wanted. I told him he needs to take his flashlight and search Wally World in the night! (open all night). I gave him 2 bananas and an apple to take on his trip to the coast. He goes on nice trips and barely gives me notice - wonder if he notices his mother never gets a trip anywhere!
