As much as I understand it, Harmony: his valve IS worse than it was last fall -leaking more-. That showed in the angiogram. However, it is not as bad as his stress echo/cardiogram made it sound. He has a noisy heart evidently. He will need to have it replaced at some point -near? far? but it's not at their designated percentage as yet. Guess they have a ratio they go by to determine the need for surgery. That could happen at any time -might be slow and then quickly deteriorate. No one knows. And I assume as the leak becomes larger he will feel it more -which they assumed were the symptoms he was having: out of breath, dizziness, lightheadedness, low energy. He's just not used to being somewhat inactive.

DH is puttering around here working on our deck. There's no way that man will ever sit still for very long. (Well, he would if he were recuperating from the surgery -at least for as long as I could sit on him!)
I need to focus on just doing the cards instead of doing whatever i see. There is SO MUCH to do! It seems every direction I look, things are behind and needs attention.
Absolutely, Okay! I was flitting from one thing to another and not seeing much progress -until I did the 'cards' and one thing at a time. Now it's beginning to look quite nice in here. I will have to re-do cupboards, shelves, drawers as I go along. But that will be part of my 30-minute declutter each day. Also have a little bit to get straightened and removed from dd's motorhome. Mostly books. Any books I buy now are mostly on my K i n d l e. Takes up no storage space which I have very little of anyway.

Have to get mulch for dh today. He wants to put it around the deck so they won't have to mow so close/or trim.

Time to get back to work.......

Roast is in the crock pot, potato salad made and chilling, bedroom spiffed (needs vacuuming) and I am S2BF and ready to go to PT.

Oh! and dishes done.

Going to go sit in my chair and work on the grocery list.

Hello dear ladies,

Got up early and did my dailies then went off to run errands with DH. He had to go to the eye doctor's too.

Yes I feel overwhelmed at times when I look around here too. Really need to get back to some kind of organization of tasks again.

When the guys replaced the toilets last weekend they used silicone, which I don't have a problem with but somehow silicone that strayed and combined with dirty shoes have made one of the bathroom's floor now permanently dirty. :x

I have mopped it twice now and see some improvement, but it still looks dirty. I picked up some GOO GONE last night and was hoping to use it today but then I ended up going out with DH. It's a project I'll do on my day off, I guess. I also found Spic-N-Span which I hadn't used in ages, and picked up a bottle of that.

Got to rest before heading out to work.

Have a great Thursday all!

Hello all. Well, it has happened. I am officially out of work. I still have a job, but have no tasks to do. I have a choice between taking paid leave and unpaid leave. I will run out of leave on my trip anyway, but I think I will do unpaid leave first. Stinks big doesn't it, at least I have been putting money away in savings.

Last night I saw my daughter perform at the Dragon Singers. I remembered it was a potluck so I didn't have to do a rushed dinner at a fast food place. I also got some banking done and talked to the financial advisor. At the potluck, I arranged a sleepover for DD10 at my house. When I went home, i took care of the cats and stayed up too late. I am sleepy today.

Things I need to get done: shore excursions, inventory closet for trip.

Not sure what to do now at payroll, since I am not getting paid. Surf the web?

(((Elizabeth))) Yes, it stinks. At least you have some savings. Take this as a Sabbath - a chance to renew yourself and reflect on the past year or more (which have been monumental ones for you.)

End of lectures. HUGE Ascension day service tonight (open service to the church, not worship for the conference) and there will be the full choir and an orchestra. This is a 6300 member congregation with 1500 - 2000 visiting clergy. How we'll all fit into the 1500 seat sanctuary is a mystery to me. I'm considering skipping dinner plans (the Crazy Christian Cannucks are meeting at a restaurant) since we don't meet until 5 and I figure I need to be at the church by 6, with the pre-service music starting at 6:30.

I haven't written up yesterday yet. So I'm getting far, far, behind again.

You know, it's been a moderately productive day for me, but the kitchen is in shambles.

I worked until 1 p.m. or so, then got lunch out and went by the new house. We have tile on our floors now - bathrooms and laundry room. DH is anxious to see the tile in "his" shower when it goes up. I came home and took a power nap, then back out for groceries, cleaners, liquor store and Goodwill drop off. We've unloaded the groceries, and kids did unload the dishwasher earlier, but the kitchen is rough.

DS got a phone call today that he wasn't going to get to go on the engineering trip next week so that all worked out. He is considering not going to the beach with us so he can start work Memorial Day week, tho. DD needs to be packed for 8 weeks at camp when we head to the beach and she hasn't started yet. She also needs some outdoor clothes + shoes, too.

Got my hair cut, bought paint for the deck and got groceries. Stopped on my way home to visit dfriend (for years & years) –she was also my boss when I worked at the antique co-op.

Dr called dh while I was gone with the results from his blood work and x-ray (already). I had to laugh because the cardiologist had us ask about getting the Vit. D checked. DH has been taking 1,000 I.U. a day for about 3 months. The only thing that showed up in his blood work was that his Vit. D level was a little low. So evidently the 1,000 a day isn’t enough. And this is a guy outside all the time –at least since he came north. I know it’s said that most people need this vitamin –especially in the northern U.S. But, obviously he wasn’t getting enough in FL either. The Dr. did recommend a pulmonologist so will call there in the morning to set up his first appointment.

I really think some of dh’s reaction to NOT having surgery is the disappointment he might feel as I think he’d hoped this surgery would finally help him feel much better -once he was through it.

Time to turn on “Wheel” and start readying for bed.

Just realized today would be my DDad's 100th birthday. But I'm forever young! :o Actually he wasn't a very young man when he started our family.

I am trying to get a document converted from Word to PDF. It is not going well. Word keeps hanging. Tomorrow, I think I will come in to work and see if there is some background reading or something I can do. It would not be paid, but it would keep me busy and be useful for future projects. Tonight is art class and dinner at Cracker Barrel. Guess I should enjoy going to the restaurant while I still can. Still waiting for Word to behave, not happening. I think it is time to shut it down and go.

Butting in
Dee, they did give him an actual D number, though, right? I'm not suggesting you tell us, I just need to believe they are telling dh, and not expecting him to go along with only vague knowledge, when HE'S the one who paid for the tests, and gave the blood in the first place! (pet peeve)

He deserves a hard copy, btw, so that he'll have a reference of his level on that date as he begins to bring it up. He also needs a (knowledgeable) dr's opinion on where the dr wants his level, so he'll know what he's shooting for, and when the dr intends to test again. Then he needs to decide on his own opinion of where his level should be, too, with his own personal reading about it. Our dr says above 50 for me, HRH and my ddad, each for our own primary reasons beyond just good health. Mine was 46 on March 29, even though I had been supplementing. I'm putting that down to wintertime, but grateful to have the knowledge and now doing more to keep it up.

Labs will give a "reference range" down to 30 and up to 90, and tell you are "within limits" at 30, but obviously that is not at an optimal point in the range, especially for someone like me who has already experienced a bout of pneumonia (and in my opinion, it's not good enough for Mr. DeeClutter, either). Remember, you can find the sprays to spray in the mouth at several sites on the internet, too - he might like the efficiency of that. That way even the digestive system is bypassed to metabolize it better.
End of busy-body-ing.

Elizabeth, I like the idea of keeping up your skills and knowledge for future projects.

Sadie, as I read your dilemma, I hold out the most hope for the Goo-gone, for some reason... ... hope it works out!

Good to hear Norma's dh has had the expected good recovery. Norma, how are you feeling after your procedure?
