MARATHON (NOT) MONDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

We're not in a marathon -slow and steady gets the job done! Well, most days anyway! ;) ;) May feel like that some days.

Been up since six and have only tested BS, weighed, took meds and drank a cup of coffee. That's an hour and a half! Obviously I'm not on a marathon this morning, but may be soon if I don't get moving. Have a meeting here at 10 to discuss ideas for 'things to do'. (Like I need more to do). But I owe this dfriend the courtesy of at least being there this morning. For the most part I'm happy and busy enough with church and family without tying myself to more activities here. But, I'll see what her ideas are. Perhaps something will appeal to me -never know.

We were gone all day yesterday between church activities and watching dgs7 race go-karts.

Bought materials last night so dh can build new steps for our main entrance. The old ones were moved to our bedroom door and don't really fit our new RV as well. DH has finished painting the deck and just has a little left to do on the railing. Looks so nice! Really like the paint as opposed to the stain.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Good Morning!

My sleep pattern has changed recently. I'm going to bed at a later hour and therefore sleeping late (for me). We are usually outdoors until the sun goes down and that is making our bedtime routine later. Hum...... maybe I will try taking a nap with LO and see if that gives me the early morning hours back.

Cup of coffee in hand. PODA development underway....

We've had thunder now for probably 30 minutes and Macs is just beside himself and making me crazy too. Looks like the storm is finally moving away.

Dee, I've been up since 6:30 and still need to get rolling. Dcleaning lady will be here in an hour or so.
-reboot laundry
-make a l*st for the day (will run some errands to drop off some of the garage stuff)
-straighten family room
-breakfast & meds/vitamins
-clear kitchen table

Holiday Monday here. Everything is closed (i.e. no school, banks, shopping, government services.) Need to get dh on antibiotics. The clinic wrote a prescription just in case and I will invoke the just in case now. Dh is only home for 6 more days and water/cran-juice isn't working. We don't have time to let nature run its course.

Aside from that, I need to work in the yard for the day. And another two loads of laundry (on stat hols electricity is cheap through the day so I don't have to wait until the night.)

Ds is coming by too - he's on a border run.

Been using a flexible 3 ring binder for my customized planner/calender/PODA/project planner/journal/keep-it-all-together-here book. I recently found one of these flexible binders at 1/2 price at WM so decided to give it a try. I couldn't be more pleased. It is perfect binder for how I am using it.

I'm feeling the desire to start fresh with something. I just looked to see what room is this week focus and (for me) it is our bedroom. ***rubbing hands together in anticipation**** Alrighty! Fresh bedroom is in the makings this week. EVERYTHING is going to come out.....ceilings, walls, floors will be cleaned and then furniture/items cleaned before they are returned to the room. I love cleaning this way!

Quickly saying "hi" with little cuop.

Kathryn - if you still have doubts about the diagnosis, you can get the test strips, available at any drug store, to prove to him and to you that this is a correct diagnosis. The brand here is AZO, made by Bayer. If it is indeed a UTI, it's true this is only a LEVEL of how much bacteria - we all will always have SOME bacteria and they don't all have to be wiped out. But if he is having symptoms, it's to a point it has to be cured and there are only two things that will do it, antibiotic or D-Mannose powder from a vitamin store in the doses the package gives for UTI. If he is really in a full-blown UTI, he can drink cranberry juice until he turns sour and that won't cure him. If it were me, I would trust the D-Mannose powder and take the full doses and just use the strips to prove to myself I was back to normal, which usually takes a couple days - 48 hours I think. HOWEVER, I find that difficult to recommend to you when you won't be with him and he is going on a trip. So yes you probably should put him on the script, assuming you feel confident about the diagnosis and don't suspect it's something else? That way you could rest more assured as he leaves. Hope he feels better.

OKay, what is it that you like about it? Is it because the cover folds around so that it isn't so wide, taking up so much space open?

Frustration here - the DPC (same one :( ) waited over the weekend with no call-back. I called this a.m. and got no apology or acknowledgement, but a promise that I'd get a call back in a half-hour. It has been 1.5 hours. HRH took dd to school, which wasn't really convenient, but I'm figuring as soon as I step out the door the phone will ring. Confidence in these people is waning.

((Macs)) I know exactly how he's acting and how much it makes you wish you could communicate with him. I suppose the thunderstorms here this afternoon are going to send Sammie under the barn. She has only a couple spots in the world where she feels safe in a thunderstorm, and her doghouse, however well protected on the porch, isn't one of them for some reason. Wish I could communicate to her the reasons I know she'd be very safe there.

Sammie had to be penned last evening as 2 toddler raccoons wandered across the yard. Hopefully, she never knew what she was missing. They were as big as baseballs but not as big as footballs, sort of waddling along. I have never seen any before, and neither has HRH, so we suspect something is wrong, maybe mama is gone. But there is nothing to be done, of course, but assume mama is right around some corner. I hope everything is all right. They seemed to be digging for something - maybe grubs, HRH thought. Interesting, that when they are adult I will consider them enemies and have no sympathy for them, yet I don't want a family of them bothered, or even the thought that we wouldn't have any around here any more, and I don't want them suffering.

Too cloudy to see the eclipse last night here.

I have gathered stuff for a shelf in the small shop I'm going to ask h. to see about installing that this week.

It thundered in the night and we've had rain here today so I'll need my umbrella for a walk.

I have granny duty in a bit.
I've spiffed the kitchen a bit but it needs more, coffee is done sipping on it while I check in here my bs was okay but was better yesterday; meds taken waiting for them to kick in before I have breakfast.

Tried watching the new Jessie Stone movie staring Tom Seleck in it with hubby last night but fell asleep.

Talked to dh about the antibiotics. He refuses. Turns out the clinic did a dip test and there is no whatevers in his urine to indicate a UTI. The antibiotic script is a vicious one and is only in case dh was in excruciating pain. He isn't. I was confused because the way I understood the outcome of the dr. visit was that 1) dh was to drink cranberry juice and lots of water (thus I assumed UTI), 2) he had antibiotics if things got worse but if water and juice would solve it, that was fine (my attitude towards drugs), 3) he had a lab test requisition for Tuesday if things got worse. Turns out what he was told was no UTI, go to the lab on Tuesday, here's a script if things get worse in the meantime. The doc told him what it wasn't, not what it is because he has no clue.

Anyway, because dh is allergic to sulpha and septra drugs, the antibiotic he has is really hard on him so he refuses to fill the script because the circumstances that the doctor told him to use the drugs are not happening. Fair enough. But that doesn't stop me from being worried sick about dh now. Especially since a culture will take a few days so that means we are back into the weekend, no doctor available and dh leaving on Sunday.

If I had known everything that I know now, I would have taken dh to the ER so at least the full urine test could have been started.

Did my treadmill this morning and managed to spend 75% of the time in the right heart rate zone but it was hard to do that. Am exhausted now.

I've got the first load of laundry on now, have stripped and remade the bed, have s2barefeet, washed all my sandals and put them out in the sun to dry and gathered up the clothes for the second load of laundry.

Am having tea and chocolate now and trying to relax but am on edge.
