Another load of washing is on the line.
I've stayed up late reading web pages an of old 80's dietitian I used see at a child guidance clinic. She has a slightly different process than the other crowd.
Her practice is too far away to attend from here.
Kathryn - Just wondering if Ken was eating differently while you were away.
For me coffee leaves me with prickly bladder pain. Eating potato repeatedly makes me smell really bad. It does things to IBS too.I try to avoid both.
If he can tollerate bicarb of soda that might help with any food reaction. An epsom salt bath helps draw out toxins from the body too so may help.
I bought Ural (effervesant alkiline powder) just to have on standby for suspected UTI.
I hope he recovers soon.
I'm up too late again. goodnight.
Just begin. Living this day, today Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do. Look for the good in all.
Good morning, villagers ~
Popping in to report a rare occurrence = regular Monday tasks all completed by 10 a.m. Of course I was up at 6 and now need a nap, but still I am claiming the accomplishment.
DH is taking a vacation day. He is sleeping in, then I think he plans to do a little more mowing. The tall weeds in the ditches are getting out of control and the city does not do anything about them. We live on a corner so that's 2 sides he has to slog through.
I know he wants to go see a movie this afternoon. We haven't been tempted to see anything on the big screen in a long time, but there are a couple of films out now that look fun.
(((KenIC))). Hope this malady is soon cleared up, Kathryn.
Cable guy was just here -seems cable had billed me another $20 for him to pick up our box! NOT!! I took the box to the cable store last week. Grrr....He's going to try to get the $20 removed from my bill. That on top of the $277 they've billed (and having had NO cable) was way over the top. Grrrr............Okay, I feel better now.
Have to run to the grocery store to get something for potluck tonight. Wish I could think of something super easy and healthy. My problem with 'potlucks' is that they are so carb laden -not good for diabetics. I would choose not to go, but that's not really a possibility for us. Got any good ideas lately, MT?
Good morning! I survived the weekend. Friday was the sleepover with DD10 and the twins. They didn't want to leave Saturday. I finally had to tell them, DD cannot sleepover at your house if you are still here! It was expensive because I took them to the movies, $6 for 4 tickets, but $25 for cokes and popcorn. Next time there will be no snacks. We went to the park and I showed them how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in Excel. My house is a disaster area, they cleaned up most of the mess they made, but there is still more for me to do. On the way to the grocery store to get stuff to feed them, DD spotted my friend's car at XDH's house. Apparently she is helping him stain woodwork. Obviously she was not there for her son to visit my daughter. Not good.
Sunday, I made it to church. The person who looked at my swamp cooler gave me the estimates for the repairs or replacement. Ouch. Later I was reminded by a friend that I should check my warranty and see if it is covered. It is, but I am sure I will have to go through their contractors. I feel bad about not remembering this in time. However, I think I will have the person from church install a thermostat. Then I went to the cat adoption clinic. Gave out one application, time will tell if they actually come back. I forgot the solar eclipse dangit! I did cook my lunches for the week and got the laundry done. Last night I slept well, but am still tired.
Today at payroll, I am modifying a document. I have already called the warranty people and should get a call back from them. I need to return the foster cat to her permanent foster because the organization I work with has a foster for me. Another shy one, I get the hard cases.
Got the winter coats, hats, mitts and boots down to the storage area and the summer jackets and hats up. I was missing my summer baseball style hat that I use when lying in my zero-gravity chair. All the rest of my sun hats have a brim at the back as well so don't do well when leaning back in the chair (or in the car - I have second baseball cap there.)
Still have to do the garden vs snow tools swap and my summer/winter wardrobes. But it is a start.
Still grumping with dh. Communication is strained here - he asked about his missing sunglasses and I used a plural to refer to the pair in the laundry room and he asked if there were two pairs there. No, just one, but I felt "they" went with sunglasses better than "it" so used the plural, confusing him. Except the beginning of the conversation had "No, I have not seen your missing sunglasses." so I couldn't understand why he'd think I'd immediately contradict what I had just said.
Home again in time for another round of thunder for Macs. I did give him an acepromazine earlier so hopefully that will help this time. I had a great round of errands - recycle center is closed on Monday, and I'm leaving drugstore, cleaners and vet for later in the day. Was thinking of going to plant nursery for annuals later also.
Going to try for a short power nap - I read until 11:30 last night.

As long as someone in the world is still wearing a monocle, I will refer to eyeglasses in the plural. They will nevertheless be misplaced often, as will my scissors, which I will also describe in the plural, because, as with eyeglasses, they actually are. Just because I couldn't do much with one scissor doesn't mean I couldn't find one to describe; therefore, if I expect anyone to help me hunt for my scissors, I must describe them correctly. And now I curtsy properly, duck, and run.
Elizabeth, sleepovers can get expensive fast. Actually, throwing a little money at one usually makes it easier on the adult!! Good job teaching the children something.
Dee, I would probably think of a veggie tray with my own favorites. Deviled eggs - but they don't fit the "easy" criteria too well. I have a cousin who likes to take 7-layer salad...?
Have fun at the movies, BookSaver. Hope it turns out to be one that will get thumbs up from you.
I am losing the battle with DDog and their digging. Arrrggghhhhh! I've tried several things and none of them have worked. I'm so frustrated with them right now.
Bedroom cleaning isn't started yet. Hopefully later today there will be an opportunity to do it.
