Afternoon turned difficult here and except for quickly picking dd up from school, HRH and I have stayed close to home together. I hope things change by tomorrow when he will be gone for hours of course, during dd's school day. I need the night to change things, all looking better in the morning.
Today I changed the linens in our bedroom, decluttered a good bit there and also vacuumed.
2nd laundry load is done and folded.

Re: Make Your Own Music Wednesday
Day 2 of helping dd2 family is down and 1 to go. Tomorrow will be a doozy. I will pick up the boys from their last day of school and then pick the little girls up, pick up pizza and head to their house. I will be there until dsonilaw gets home. Dd2 plane won't be in until after 10 pm. Dd2 is having a great time learning the ins and outs of her new business venture. Today they learned different painting techniques. I don't know if I have ever mentioned what her business will be but it will be a pottery studio, where you can paint your own pottery. She has a website, a bank loan plus a line of credit called an operating note. She has secured a location, has a company working on her logo and is awaiting estimates for an awning for the front of the building.
On Monday on our way home, dh received a call from the banker of the man who is buying our buyers place. The guy didn't have his ducks in a row and it will be between June 11 and June 18 before his loan will go through because he hadn't started the title work. Duh! Didn't really surprise me. We could either call the whole thing off or go with an extension. I called our buyer and she was really upset at the guy and afraid we would just tell them to go fly a kite. Not hardly. I don't want to start over. Today I met with them so they could sign the extension contract. When they left she handed me an envelope and said it's just a thank you note. Later when I opened it, it was the nicest thank you note and $1000.00 cash! I called her and she told me that they would feel better if we accept it, because she realizes the expense the delay will cost us.

Re: Make Your Own Music Wednesday
I was out the door early this morning to watch DGS15 graduate from 8th grade. Then I went shopping and came home with a dozen new-to-me outfits. I've decided to try wearing skirts instead of jeans. I keep seeing people wearing skirts and they look so nice. Soooooooo - I thought I would try wearing a skirt to see if I could look nice too.
I'm not sure about this - I wore one tonight and kept getting comments ....more like astonished exclamations...... NANA IS WEARING A SKIRT?!?!!?
I took LO and made a chemical run this afternoon (2 hours driving there/back). Getting ready to take a couple days off is exhausting! We are running our self ragged trying to get things ready to coast a few days while we are gone.
This evening was spent celebrating DGS15 big day. I did have some time to sit with DGS17 and spend some one-on-one time while he shared something that happened recently. Arrrghhh! I'm mad. Really really mad. Mama Bear mad. DON'T MESS WITH THE CHILDREN MAD. I asked DGS17 permission to contact his biological mother and confirm it. I just can't believe it. Something else has to be going on. ANYway he gave me permission so i have sent her a message and now I wait.
Another Mama Bear situation is going on too that has me fuming. I am a fairly easy going person unless you mess with children or elderly then i get a good solid mad going on. Grrrrrrrr.....
On a happier note - tomorrow we are traveling to spend the afternoon/evening celebrating DGS5 graduation. He told us that he wants to go out to eat sushi before going to his ceremony.
Hopefully the restaurant will have things to eat other than sushi because we ain't eatin' no sushi.
Need to get LO into bed.

Hiya, Indiana, what's shakin'? Sorry you lost a post. You are in good company. Did you notice how BookSaver described her lost one the other day:
Smiling, OKay. Makes me think of dd's certainty that she would like sushi but the sushi being left on her plate in disappointment. She is impressed with many things Japanese, which is a very current and sophisticated interest for her age group right now, but she has a lot of respect for grilling and frying.
Sorry OKay is in mother bear mode. Now, OKay, put it out of your mind for good sleep tonight. Your subconscious can still be indignant and possibly come up with bright thoughts even if the rest of you gets a good night's sleep.
Lilac, it's nice to have you back and posting - sounds as if you found a decent lady there to buy the house, even if it's been difficult and time-consuming.
Typed out a J and C paragraph and found I didn't need to post it after getting it off my chest, so thank you, friends, for listening.
Or, thank you that I know you would listen. Something like that.
Hi to sherinjoy, lucylee and Lynlee.
Emptynester, I kinda hope the coyote doesn't come around any more. I know they never bother people really, but I'd rather see them leaving. Do you ever hear them at night? Here we will sometimes hear a litter howling every which-way out of sync with each other, and it will just bother everyone - like nails on a blackboard.
Looks like my long post on Sunday morning didn't make it to the board. I no long remember what I typed ... of course it was totally thrilling, so I'm sorry y'all missed those words of wisdom. <snicker>

Re: Make Your Own Music Wednesday
Hello to everyone -- and especially, welcome back to Indiana!!! Sooo glad to see you back!!! * whew *
(((OKay)))
(((Harriet)))
I have been sooo busy today. Stayed @ school till 5:30, talked to ddad, went to ATM, got supper for myself & dmil -- dh & ds were gone to baseball game.
Came home, unloaded a few school things from car... did a load of laundry... packed for weekend trip -- I don't think I even mentioned it -- dh & I are going to Branson, MO this weekend! For once, I am really looking forward to a trip -- for some reason, I really like it when we can "escape" just as soon as school is out.
However, we won't be able to leave until Friday morning. Tomorrow is my last day @ school, then graduation tomorrow night, which we might possibly consider skipping -- except that dh's cousin's daughter is graduating and we are invited to graduation party afterwards.
I've read the paper and watched tv (Little House on the Prairie & Toddlers & Tiaras. That's quite a variety, isn't it? LOL)
I need to reconcile checkbook/statement.
Also need to get a few items out of the dryer.
I am sooo tired. We had about 90 minutes food & fellowship at school, but otherwise, I have worked my fingers to the bone today!!! Taking up books... doing book inventory... grading exams... posting grades... printing out hard copies of computer gradebook... packing up stuff that can't sit out in the open all summer... and still LOTS more to do tomorrow.
When I retire, I will NOT miss the last week of school. I need to make a note of that!
I told ddad I had intended to come out and visit for a little while, but I was just too frazzled and had too much to do at home. He sounded kinda tired & down tonight, but he said he just overdid it earlier today, running around taking care of repairs to car. He starts next round of chemo tomorrow, provided his platelets are "up" enough, I guess. He said they did give him platelets earlier this week -- somehow I missed that update from dmom.
DH just got home a little while ago. AU won so he is happy, but muttering about not getting to watch tomorrow's game, " we b/c we have to go to that darn party..."
I don't mind going to this party -- it is hosted by the cousin who is taking charge of ddil's baby shower, and dh & I are very comfortable w/her & her husband. This will mostly be a family gathering, anyway.
I better sign off and get myself headed to bed. Several long days ahead of me.
