FUN FRIDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

Have fun whatever you may be doing today. In the U.S. many will be getting ready for the holiday weekend. It's beautiful here right now.

I managed to get out for a small walk today. Group from here is walking around the pond (it's a mile around it) on Mon, Wed and Fri. I walked further than I'd figured on but I'm not ready for the whole thing. Allergies are too rampant right now. It was beautifully breezy for walking. I also have trouble with me left calf after I walk so far, so I did 'good' for me. Thought I'd overslept again, but it was only 7:05 when I got up.

Need to find a different spot to use my computer -too sunny where I am.

Think I'll go work on the deck for a little bit while it's still cool out there. Have a fun and wonderful day!

Wow! A lot of pages yesterday! So good to see you all posting -and especially nice to see Indiana's recipe box looking out at us!

Congratulations, Cowinkie.

Thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes yesterday. Went out with 2 other couples for dinner last night. Very nice! I had 1/2 a cupcake -not good. BS was up to 149 this morning! Also had chicken parm which was more carbs. :|
Have enough left for at least 2 more meals!

And we're off!

DH has been ill as a hornet the last 24 hours. He says getting ready for a trip is getting too stressful for him! Maybe he'll cheer up once we're on the road! See ya'll Tuesday!
Tomorrow is another day.

Good morning, villagers ~

Safe travels, Lucylee! Hope you have a great time.

I worked on the newsletter until after midnight last night, then remembered that I was still waiting for the vp to send photos from our last meeting. I see them in my inbox this morning.

However, I've decided to take the rest of the long weekend to put the pages together. I could race through the rest, risk making mistakes, run it to the printer this afternoon and get it back Tuesday afternoon (delayed because of the holiday) to mail Wednesday ... or I can take more time putting it together, take it to the printer Tuesday morning, hopefully get it back that afternoon and have it ready to mail Wednesday. Hmm, since it will go to the post office the same day either way, I believe I'll take the path with lower stress.

Harriet ~ I loved that toy maker's video, too. The library is always looking for activities for boys so I sent the video to them. Maybe we'll find some young mechanical engineers.

The holiday weekend snuck up on me. We don't have any plans at all. We used to spend every Memorial Day weekend in a canoe and/or tent, but those days are long gone. None of the others like to camp any more. :(

I need to run errands today and get some groceries, assuming that we may get a last-minute invitation to pot luck.

Good morning all! Happy belated birthday, Dee!

Booksaver, I enjoyed that video. Reminds me of stories about my grandfather making homemade baseball bats out of Ash tree limbs for his children.

Thanks for the nice welcome. I only posted a couple of times on the old OH forum and that was under a different name...thought I was being original with this new name! There could have been another ellyphant back on the old forum.

Lilac, I am impressed that you are selling your house on your own. Our house in New England has been on the market for 10 months. We close in two weeks. Hallelujah, it appears that this time the sale will happen! We thought the house was sold last fall, but the deal fell through at the last minute. All our earthly belongings were halfway to our new home at that point--so that is how we accidentally became owners of 2 houses at the same time. That was not our plan! Haha!

For fun today, I will stay home and continue working on wallpaper removal! That might not sound like fun, but I am a homebody and this house needed us! Want to get some basic painting done so we can have friends over soon.
How you do your work is a portrait of yourself.

Well :P :P :P no errands until DH gets home from work.
I have a flat tire.
I sent an Email to DH asking if he wants me to call The Man or if he will deal with it tomorrow.

Good Morning!

ellyphant - I'm so glad you are posting! It's good to "meet" you!

Yesterday afternoon/evening was wonderful! And yes, I did relax and eat sushi  I ate 3 different kinds. Along with miso and some green stuff that I'm not sure what I was putting into my mouth but the memory remains! I think it included a good dose of horseradish! I do love getting "out of my box" and eating different cuisines so even though I was reluctant to eat the raw fish, I am glad I did!

DGS5 graduation was unbelievable. Cap, gowns & sashes. Performance on stage (singing). Video shown documenting each graduating child from birth up and interviewing each child as they were dress in costume depicting what they wanted to be when they grew up. Each child then walked across the stage to receive their diploma. Reception followed with decorated cake, cookies and drinks. WOW to the max!

this morning started with little ones waking up at dawn. DSon and I was up early and tag teamed caring for them. Dson got breakfast ready to serve while I supervised the two boys playing outside, changed DGD1 diaper and fed her.

next on the agenda is DDIL, her Mom and myself going on a trail ride while DSon, DH and the 3 little ones go to the water park.

Sounds like you're having a real "FUN" time

, Okay. Good for you!

Happy Birthday, LurkyLou -hope you're at least doing just that (lurking). Come out and play!

DH is out painting our new steps. (just the primer now). Hopefully the main coat later today or tomorrow and then I can use them full-time! Yay!

Just finished going through some cookbook pamphlets, taking out recipes I wanted. Think I'll take the 'leftovers' to the laundry room and anyone can take anything that strikes their fancy.

This sat -Cardiologist office called to see how dh was doing and to remind him of appointment next Thursday.

I'm in the same boat with MT -I can't find! My 'travel file' with all my current files is among the missing. Thought perhaps dd had seen it/or did something with it. She doesn't remember seeing it (texts). Oh-oh! She's going to look to see if I perhaps left it at her house -later today hopefully. If it's there, she'll probably bring it and I can stop looking. Can't think of anyplace I've missed looking>>>>>>>>>>> Perhaps I should go check in the car -just to be sure. Hmmmm, good idea says SHE.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Wow, Okay, it sounds like every detail was covered in dgs5 graduation. I am so glad both you and your dh were able to go. Enjoy your trail ride with ddil and her dm.

Happy Birthday, LurkyLou, we miss your posts!

ellyphant, congratulations on your home sale. I sure understand wanting to be responsible for only 1 home.

No trip to the zoo for us today. It is cloudy, cool so far and very windy. We might go out for lunch. In the meantime I need to finish my grocery list and head to the store.

Ellyphant and Lilac, we're all in the same boat in transition mode aren't we? We will also own two houses soon as we won't put this one on the market until we've moved. We don't need the stress of showing it in the condition it's in with two big noisy dogs underfoot.

A link to our general floor plan: http://tinyurl.com/cjjgkn9 We added a couple of feet of width in the master bathroom and in the hallway from the garage and made made the shower bigger with a corner soaking tub. Picking out lighting was indeed expensive. I'm echoing Lucylee's statement:
DH has been ill as a hornet
After this week of vacation I need to really hit it on purging and packing.

Thanks to Dee mentioning a walk, I threw on clothes and shoes and took the ddogs out for a short walk. Macs and I are in abysmal shape; once we move I will need to walk them regularly as we won't have the yard we have here.

I've started a li&t of what I need to get done before we leave on Sunday. I think we are going to temple tonight. I'd also like to do a good round of decluttering something today. I'm having trouble with decision-making, I think, which makes it hard to declutter efficiently.

-kitchen counters
-reboot laundry
-kitchen table clearing
-empty the dishwasher
-straighten family room
