Well, that was 'fun'!
I've started a li&t of what I need to get done before we leave
Thanks, Twins!! Your statement started me on a hunt in my computer for a li*t that I might have made in readying for my trip north. 3 items caught my attention: "Go thru travel file & put away in closet", go through McD bag (with all the plastic file holders), and go through another container. All were checked and I vaguely remember I must have brought only those things that I needed and I think they're all in my 'church' carry bag. Now I feel better and told dd not to bother looking. At least I don't have to find room for them here! :D

EDITED: Yep! That's where all the files I needed are located -in my 'church' bag. Only bad thing was I kept seeing that bag and 'almost' looking in it. Should have listened to that "God whisper"! :? Wondering if MT has had one of those little 'whispers'.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

I've had lots of those whispers, Dee. Only not for our Passports. But I did find the copies I made of them so I have all the numbers, etc. to get new ones. I'm not worried that they are "out and about", I'm sure they are somewhere in this mess I call a den - just not where they should be.

DH and I have had our walk. He is quite perturbed as one of the sensors we used to check tire pressure while on the road will not mount on the new tires we picked up yesterday for the pickup. These sensors read the tire pressure in all the tires (MH and pickup) while we are traveling and alert us to any low pressures so we can stop before we lose a tire. They are especially important on the pickup as we can't "feel" if anything is wrong with those tires when we are towing it.

I am moving clothes out to the MH. I'm also washing clothes as we need to wear red for Pentecost this Sunday. It seems I always have a partial load of reds in the bottom of the laundry hamper. So they will be done now and ready for when we leave.

Happy Birthday LurkyLou

Congrats to Cowinkie.

EN yes I've heard that phrase about a hornet.

I got the dish washer rebooted this morning, s2s is done, I've swept the carport, and journaling is out of the way. Waiting a bit need to dash off to the library but they are not open yet.

Twins, thank you for the link to your floor plan. I love it! I wish I would have done a better job of purging before we moved. I have room for everything, but that doesn't mean I need all of this.

Good morning everyone! It is sooo easy for me to go back into "lurking" mode. Not much going on with me, same ole', same ole'. Today will be pleasant, weather-wise, tomorrow--not so much. Upper 90's I heard. yuck!

Belated happy birthday to Dee!! Glad you remembered where your file was. I never did tell you that I think Zoe's garden is beautiful! An awesome remembrance of a short but cherished life.

Safe travels & an enjoyable trip for Lucylee. Hope your dh feels better soon.

Good luck with the newsletter, Booksaver. "Less stress" sounds like a plan. :D

Welcome, Ellyphant! I was also a long-time lurker. The village has a great bunch of gals, but you know that already.

OKay, glad you got to try sushi. I've never had the opportunity, but would like to sometime. I'm fairly adventurous when it comes to trying different foods. Sounds like you are enjoying your visit. Have fun on the trail ride.

Twins' Mom - good for you for taking the ddogs for a walk! I'm enjoying your posts about the progress on your new house. Have you picked out the lighting yet?

"Mad as a hornet" was something my ddad used to say. Hadn't thought of that for a long time. Thanks for the reminder, MT!

Indiana, it is wonderful to see you posting again! I'm so glad you are home. Jake must be glad too!

You are on the home stretch to getting your house sold, Lilac. The buyers seem like honorable people. I'm on a mission to purge from my house, maybe we could encourage each other.

Nancy, you have a good start on your day. WTG!!

Waving to anyone I've missed! Have a great day.

I can't empty the dishwasher because it is still too warm. I had forgotten that I needed to get ds downtown today, but dh has decided they don't have to do whatever it was today. I try to stay out of some things. ;)

I'm going to set a timer and do 25 minutes of laundry room decluttering...I'm going in.

OKay, the green stuff is wasabi.

I'm nodding along with you guys about the lost items. We couldn't find our HSA card - a debit card for medical bills, etc. I finally told dh to call and order replacements - one for each of us. And about a week later I found the stack of paperwork up in the playroom. I had laid the stuff on the back stairwell (as a stash and dash probably) and dcleaning lady had moved it up there for me.

I lost a post!! Oh, well.

The floor plan is lovely, Twins. I love new houses.

Yes - was also going to tell OK that the green stuff was wasabi. It is too hot for me on its own, but I'll sometimes mix it with some soy sauce.

We owned 2 houses in 2 states (TX and MI) when we first moved up here. That was not my favorite state-of-being, but it worked out. We sold the TX home within 2 weeks of our move.

MT reminded me to check the girls' passports, and sure enough, dd16's expires in July and needs to be renewed before travels in August.

Weather is gorgeous, 83 now with a lovely breeze. I'm finding it hard to hunker down and get some work done.

I had coffee with dh this morning. He is so buried at work. He's up until midnight or later every night trying to get caught up. Thus, we have to make coffee dates to chat anymore. Dh loves it (sarcasm) when well-meaning but clueless people tell him how great his job must be because he gets his "summers off." They have no idea. . . . . Teaching is a very small part of his job; for most? profs here (at least all that I know - but I know a very small percentage), their research is the main part of their job.

Dh and I both took showers in our new shower today! The bathroom isn't complete, but it is close. It is a beautiful shower, larger than our previous one, all tile, with a concrete cubby and door ledge. The concrete is crafted to look like granite; this is a specialty of our contractor. I'm not sure I'm happy with the all glass clear door, however b/c (1) I don't enjoy watching myself shower in the mirror across the room  and (2) if someone desires privacy in the shower, no one else can be in the bathroom brushing their teeth, etc. Maybe #2 would happen anyway, but I feel more vulnerable with the glass side. This is one of those details that fell through the cracks; dh and I were going to talk about it but never got a chance.

Busy weekend for us with people over 3 nights in a row. Just dfriend A is coming over tonight to watch Gattica with us. Tomorrow, we're hosting a BBQ for one of our small groups after we attend the graduation party of a family friend, the ds18 of our backpacking camping friends. Sunday night, dd13 is having her bday sleepover. I can't believe she will be 14 tomorrow!!

And today is ds' last day of high school - forever. :( No, it is not dd16's last day; she still has 3 more weeks. I don't know why they do it this way; maybe that is a common practice?

I don't have a lot of kid chauffeuring to do today, so I'm going to try to get caught up on many things in which I have fallen behind. You will probably see items on my li&ts that have been there before. I just never got to them.

First List:
1. finish a.m. routine
2. finish lunch
3. devo/study time

Not happy here - I just discovered I got scammed in March when I thought I had renewed my subscription to The Economist. The renewal service was not legit. I just got a renewal notice from the magazine itself today, and called to check on my subscription. Grrr.... Can I share the name of the supposed service here so no one else gets scammed? I googled them and sure enough, other magazines have been having trouble with them too.

Good morning everyone! My swamp cooler is installed and running nicely. DD10 had fun with the twins who came over last night. Except that she pitched a fit when she could not spend the night at their house. Needless to say, I had to skip my usual Thursday art class. I am still fighting a cold or allergy and am totally exhausted. And I get DD tonight too, at 8:00. I have no plans for the 3 day weekend except that monday I would like to sleep in. I won't get my usual Sunday nap, because I will have DD. Saturday I have a baby shower to go to with DD, so I won't be able to take her anyplace. I wanted to go to the amusement park.

Today I am reading about nuclear safety. I will also need to print out my travel documents today as well. I need to buy a gift for the baby shower tonight. I would rather go home and sleep before DD gets there. Maybe I can find something quickly, get home, and take a nap. I am sleep obsessed today.

I just heard from a friend. I dont' know if she will be able to go to lunch with me. I plan on waiting until 1:00 and if she is done go with her and if not eat what I brought.
