I am on hold with the cruise company. I cannot get my pre-cruise paperwork to print. I have been on hold a long time. I am so bored! I hope everyone else is having better luck. Back to reading about nuclear safety.

OOOOH!OOOOH! I want champagne at Cowinkie's and Sweetie's house! I am missing them so much - and Willis and adorable Sadie the Wonder Dog too! And Liz and Al that will be there too. Congratulations Cowinkie! :D

We just came from Carson City. I had to go do my pre-op for my cataract surgeries and also the pre-registration at the Surgery Center. On our way up it started to snow and it snowed and snowed and sleeted and rained - the whole bit. We didn't get it here but I guess it is a regular blizzard at the lake. It always happens here on Memorial Weekend and ruins everyone's plans. I don't know why anyone even bothers to plan anything.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend - unlike here!

Congratulations Cowinkie - Have a wonderful celebration for your RETIREMENT!

Waving hi to everyone.
Norma - my friend lives in Reno and she posted pics this morning of the snow. We're having rain today and cooler temps. Unusual weather for us and I was thinking of all the people camping and picnicking this weekend - hope it clears up.

Off to the adventures.

Hi, Everyone! Posting with only a quick cuop as I scrolled to last page.

Happy Belated Birthday Dee! Happy Birthday Lurkylou!

Twins', I like your house plans. Looks like it will be easy to live in, esp. with the MB on the first floor.

Dh's niece and her dh have been in town since Saturday am. They stopped in on their way to their motel that morning and we saw them on Tue evening, they took us and dh's dgniece out to dinner at Outback. We had a very nice visit with them; they're lots of fun to be with!

Saturday evening dfam#1 came and Sunday was dfam#2 turn to visit. Dgd17 had her prom on Saturday. She looked so grown up in her pictures. Her date was another student member of her band. Monday evening we went to the band's Spring Concert, their last show of the year. They are really good, worthy of the national overall superior rating they received at the music festival competition in April at Wash DC.

Wednesday morning we both woke up feeling sick. I had a stuffy nose and clogged ear, no energy. I'm better now except I still can't hear with left ear. Dh hasn't felt as well, he has a bad cold with a sore throat that turned into an irritating tickle. He coughs constantly and is miserable. Neither of us is getting much sleep! Poor guy---I feel sorry for him; if I could snap my fingers and make him instantly better I would!

We're supposed to get rain starting tomorrow through next weekend. I could be wrong, but I'm guessing we are going to have a hot steamy rainy summer!

I need to feed the ddogs and clean up dishes from supper.....

Meant to add...welcome to Ellyphant. And I'm glad Indiana is home again!

I got my documents to print! I have so much to do for this cruise. The pre-cruise worrying is not much fun, but the trip will be. I am going to buy a baby present then go home. I suppose I should eat, so I will have some cereal. See you Tuesday!

I took a couple of naps today. I was tired.

Jake is not leaving my side. If he could glue himself to my leg he would. He is so happy to see his friends. He cries when he sees them.

Our culinary services is really changing. They are producing wonderful meals now. Finally they served cauliflower. Not only that but it was cooked perfectly. They finally figured out after a year how to do it. I tease our chef that he doesn't know what cauliflower, lima beans, butter beans, and beets are. If he doesn't like them he doesn't fix them. In the past they were mushy and the broccoli was a drab green. Yesterday they were bright green and just crisp enough.

Today was a pizza bar with 5 different pizzas, bruschetta or marinara sauce for the garlic bread, tossed salad and a vegetable. They also making some good diabetic desserts. I wanted to take my dessert as a carryout. They don't let us take desserts to go when it is a buffet style meal. I forgot my container because on those days I quietly put mine in a container. My server had checked for several people and all were no - can't do it. She said she would ask for me. She came out with a container hidden and said to be careful. The chef and servers know for a non-diabetic dessert I take it home and have it over several days.

I am so glad I have been open with them about desserts.

Well, for a day that started out not the best, this one turned out ok. Flat tire prevented me from doing a lot of errands -- but I can do them tomorrow morning with DH's car.

I was able to walk to the post office and library this morning. The temp was quite cool and the sky looked dark, so I took a chance of getting wet. I figured, though, that we used to camp every Memorial Day weekend and it always rained a lot. At least that's everyone's memory, always being in rain gear trying to keep the fire going. I saw a few sprinkles while I was in the library, but I didn't even have to open the umbrella I carried.

The rest of the day has been slow & steady, which I like. A little laundry, a little cleaning here & there, figured out a minor problem with the computer. I have meals planned for the next several days, and a shopping list for tomorrow.

Must remember to get the shopping bags from my car in the morning before I take off in DH's car.

I want to get a few more tasks done tonight and try to get to bed a couple of hours early.

Uh oh, I think I hear thunder.

Get Well Soon to the Sunny household!

Delighted for Jake and normalcy.

The story here all evening was that I discovered  I'd been right about the mysterious disappearance of a few eggs every once in a while. HRH was valiant and brave, but ultimately compassionate and allowed Mr. Black Snake (Mrs. Black Snake?) to "get away". This may be best for the mouse population (of which we are happily on the low side). The important thing is that it's been proven there is a very big scary animal that guards the hen house, so this problem should be in the past. Good thing for Cicely, who had no intention of giving up the nest, even though the snake was INCHES away! (Fay and Hoshi called me hysterically to let me know their sister was nuts!) Nancy, LOL, how can I recommend keeping hens to you tonight?

Waving from Saturday
I got a fasting blood test done. Booked an appointment with a doc I used see years ago. 30 min travel to get to see him (the practice moved an extra 15 min away). Of all the docs I've seen in recent years I think he is the winner in who to see stakes - even if he is male. Pdoc wrote out the blood test request and sent a copy to him after I said I think I'd go back there.. I think I'll see if breast clinic will send a copy of test results to him as well.

Ohhh Harriet . Bravery award to Cicely and her guardian sisters. Well done. Also to HRH. But I'm guessing the hens were closer to the action. ;)
Just begin.

Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.
