Never on a Sunday

Post by Indiana »

Today's topic is an idea from Kathryn.

Kathryn said last night she doesn't like to grocery shop on a Sunday. She does it when she needs to though.

What don't you like to do on a Sunday?

I don't like to do laundry or clean.

I just had a scare of my life and did my good deed for the day.

Jake and I go out the overhead garage door for his walks. After I put it up he has to sit and wait until it is up so I can go through too. I don't want him darting out with a car coming.

I put up the garage door and waited for it to go up. Jake got his treat for waiting and we went through. Just as soon as we cleared the door is slammed down. I about jumped out of my chair and Jake wanted to run.

I called security to send maintenance and I stayed there until they got there so no would try going through until they knew what the door was doing.

Maintenance had to go get lumber to prop open the door so I waited for him to come back. I also needed to put up the door so he could wedge 2x4s at both ends.

Indiana, what a scary experience. I'm glad you and Jake are safe and have prevented others from being hurt. Yikes!

Oh my, Indiana! Sure glad the door didn't catch you two or anyone else!

I don't like to shop on Sundays either. Remember when we had "blue laws"? I appreciate the stores that now are closed on Sundays. If all the big stores were closed on Sundays we would HAVE to shop on other days wouldn't we. Although I would feel for those who are only able to shop on Sundays because of work schedules. So it's a 'catch 22'. The essentials I could get at the ol' "Mom & Pop" stores if need be.

DH went to dgks' race last night. I didn't really hear him come in. He just said he got in about 11:30 -but was at the campground by 10:30. But he talked with dfriend -the camp manager for a while and things came up. Never did say what "things". Then he took a shower. I was kind of wondering because I saw dgs12 come online just a little after 10. I fell asleep before dh even got here and in bed.

I woke up this morning about the time dh went out. Then I drifted in and out and awoke to the rain -laid in bed listening to the pitter-patter for about 40 minutes. Love that sound. DS-A should be happy -he's getting some much needed rain so will be able to keep his employees working!

Went up for a campfire last night at DS-R's. DGS7 practiced with his go-kart yesterday but 'crashed' into the wall and somehow pinned 2 of his fingers between the steering wheel and wall. Can't quite figure that out. Took him to urgent care for x-rays and now is "proudly" sporting 2 taped fingers. He's so funny! Keeps us all laughing. Think that attribute is what kept DDIL going through her chemo/radiation for stage 4 breast cancer. He's always kept everyone laughing for all of his 7 1/2 years!

Better get dressed for church! BBL

Interesting trivia, Indiana. Wondered why I was craving eggs this morning.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

We don't like to travel on Sunday in case we have trouble the garages won't be open. But we are making an exception today as it will be easier to travel thru Albuquerque

We are ready to roll and will see you from Tucumcari.

My new phone is not smart at all!
It keeps asking for a memory card I looked and that costs as much as the phone did ~sigh~ won't be putting up any pics. any time soon. Ack!
Okay I can quit wasting time on this now.
I'm off to pout!

Good morning, villagers ~

I had a lovely day yesterday with DMom & DSis and DAunt. We went to various cemeteries to retrieve flowers from family graves. We talked and talked and talked. We tried out DSis's new Keurig coffee maker. I picked up the jewelry I'd ordered from her party last week.

Then I got slightly lost trying to drive home because there are detours everywhere for road construction. Unfortunately I had not taken gps with me because I assumed the main highways would be open on a Saturday. I crisscrossed 3 counties on county roads and through Tiny Towns. Luckily I had plenty of gas in the car, it was a beautiful sunny day, and I wasn't on a time schedule needing to be anywhere else. I got to see a lot of nice farms. :)
