We are parked!!! This was a really hard trip - not as many miles as day before yesterday, but hard on DH. We stopped at a rest area and he napped with ice on his neck for about an hour. I'm thinking if the chiropractor in SD doesn't help his back and neck - this might be the last long trip for us. He doesn't want me to drive but he gets so tired.

I have both AC's going as it is 93 here. DH has gone in the lodge to pay and find out about the pool. I'm going to go sit in front of the fan with a DDP for a bit.

Hoping the rest of your trip can be easier on both of you, MT. I'm sitting trying to think what DPP stands for. Not easy when everything seems more difficult as we get older! Know I hate watching dh as he struggles to do what he always has done. So hard for him too.

head spinning with unfamiliar terms.....digital coax, TOSlink, rca adapter, hdmi...... all I want to do is plug headphones into TV. Researching without sufficient knowledge of what I need is like the blind leading the blind. I ordered a $2.25 cable that should solve it....maybe. At least it isn't going to be outrageous expensive blunder if I didn't pick the right one.

LO is up from his nap. Time to get supper on the table and return to my normal doings.

Indiana I'm sure glad you didn't get hit with the door, Jake too. Wow, something must have failed on it.

MT, sorry you're having to face more changes. Could you make a long trip if you stayed put a day or so in between?

There is so much we don't do any more. DH says when he is in the water his hip doesn't hurt. I guess the water takes the weight off. I'm sorry for this reason that we don't have a pool.

Harriet, family time sounded like fun, but sorry about your DDad afterward. Yep, it is hard to see them go.

Speaking of family, I had a call while I was cleaning communion trays at church and of course didn't answer. Found out later it was DSiL and 3 DGSons here waiting with lunch...so we got home as fast as possible and had lunch together before they were off for their deep sea fishing time with their uncle. It was such a treat to see them for even a little while.

I told DSiL, well, this is how our house looks when I don't know you're coming. It wasn't too bad, but could have looked better. After they left I did some cleanup, gathered the garbage, swept and mopped floors in FM, entry, & kitchen. Folded 1 LOL. Then we went out to the beach, spent an hour and 1/2 there, came home and had dinner. Beach towels and suits are washed ready to hang.

I've cleaned up kitchen and made tomorrow's lunches.

I try not to do yard work on Sundays. I will if its necessary, but I try to not do such hard heavy work. By Sunday I'm always a little tired and a nap is especially nice!

Harmony: We only had 230 miles to go today after staying in the last campground 2 nights. We did nothing yesterday except take a nap. We will stay here 2 nights before we head northeast thru Kansas.

I just have to plan shorter days. I think 100 - 150 miles is going to be our limit for the rest of the summer. Well, after next week as we have to be at our destination in SD by next Sunday night.

Just had a wonderful rig eye steak dinner with cherry cobbler for desert. That is always the treat in Tucumcari. One of our favorite restaurants is here.

Now to kick back and relax - couple more hours until we can go to bed.

Let's see... I generally don't shop on Sunday. Try to have a quiet day at home. After church, we are on the phone with in-laws and children who live in other states. My aunts would not wash clothes on Sunday and my grandmother always said "Never sew on Sunday or you will have to take those stitches out with your nose, come judgment day." I never learned to sew, so that is not a problem! Do keep up with washing clothes and dishes, but don't do any other household chores.

We are home safely - we left the resort at 10 but stopped for a big breakfast, then drove and drove. Decided to skip the trip to IKEA and lunch at an ATL restaurant that dh wanted to take me to. We drove straight to the new house to see the progress, then on home.

Ds had told dh last night that they were "cleaning up the kitchen." Well, my expectations were obviously way too high because the kitchen was trashed! DD left this morning for her summer camp job (w ds' friend Z) but she had participated in leaving the mess. Ds helped with clean up then went and picked up Chinese for us.

New house has first coat of paint on walls and the hardwood floor in the downstairs done.

Tomorrow is "back to reality." I need to get moving on temple biz and purging/packing/moving plans.

The cleaning lady is going to think very badly of us tomorrow.

I grew up with DMom only doing laundry on the few Sundays before we left for church camp early Monday morning. Our church clothes had to be washed, line dried and ironed so they could be packed to take with us the next morning.

this evening was spent outside in the garden. LO drove the yard tractor (sitting on DH lap), played in the sprinkler, drove battery operated car, drew ovals, clouds, X's and T's with chalk all over the cellar, sidewalk and porch. I noticed when he was in the bathtub tonight that his knees are red from all the crawling around on the concrete.
