MONDAY MOTIVATOR
What's your motivator for today? This week? This month?
When I saw MT had posted at 4:30 I thought, great don/t have to think of a title for today. Wrong. I had a rough night too, MT. Got up early to help dh. Sitting here at the table with walkie-talkie. We're reading tanks =septic tanks. First Monday of the monthh he reads each tank, then does the ones he knows need to be read the other Mondays he only reads the 'users'. Have an extra job today as he has to have me mark those sites "in compliance" =meaning it is now required for all permanents to have 'hard' piping for septic lines from the RV to the tank. People have had over a year to do this but there's always some.........
Just caught dneighbor to tell her I'm not walking this morning.
Oh yes, my 'motivator' today is "get r done!" Have several loose ends financially to take care of this week -so my motivation is to have those all done by Wednesday! (She says hopefully)

Re: MONDAY MOTIVATOR
Well we're on "hold" -it's pouring. I'd already told dneighbor I wasn't walking and it sure doesn't look anyone will be -at least not at 8am. We do have potluck tonight and I need to find a non-carb entry. May have to go to the store to get stuff. Want to go for gas, etc anyway. Never did go yesterday. (Which was good!). Last time was SO VERY carb-laden and no desserts -so practically everyone will bring dessert tonight (or perhaps none at all because each will think there'll be too many!
)
DH must be hiding in out of the rain -haven't heard from him in a while.

Re: MONDAY MOTIVATOR
Quick peek in before I head out the door to meet dh for coffee.
Thanks for starting us off Dee! If I'm honest with my self, my motivator for today and the next week or two is probably stress. . . . I know that is not good, but is sort of the way it is right now. Lots of things are coming to a head at the same time here. I think I've listed most of them before so I won't list them again.
This week: 4 medical appts. this week - not for me, for dd14 (2) and dd16 and a vet visit for Lily and Pepper. I think they do better when they go in together. We need to take potential oboe purchase in to a local well-known technician we've used before. I emailed him yesterday but no response. I will call later today if there is still no response. Also, need to really finalize date for ds' graduation party. I was thinking of June 30, but he told us yesterday that most of his church boys small group will be heading to Haiti on the youth group mission trip that weekend. So, I guess it should be June 23 -- which doesn't give us much time, especially since dh and I will be in Hawaii June 13 to 19 after returning from my parents' anniversary party trip late on June 10. . .. There are no weekends in July that work for us. August is probably too late for a grad party and well into vacation season. It will be what it will be, and we will do our best.
Weekend was full but good. I got everything done on my Saturday li&t. The run on Sunday was a success! I met my goal of not walking, and even the hill at the end wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I wasn't very fast, but I did it! Dfriend was a charm; she kept turning around and asking, "Are you OK?" or telling me, "You can do it! You're looking good!" She is a true friend. She is a much more experienced runner than me, and she was happy to stay with me during the entire run. Dh did well, finished the half-marathon in about 1:50 or so. He was happy to finish under 2 hours. Other friends were there too; we met several playing "hooky" from church, like us, including one of the Docs and his wife in the missionary medical team our church is sending to Burundi in the fall - well, technically to Paris for language training first. They're both avid runners. One dfriend of mine was 1st in her age group (35-39), ran the half marathon in 1:33:56. I'm curious how she placed among all the women competitors. I took a small nap Sunday afternoon, went to dd14's field hockey game. Both teams played well, even though this game was on grass not turf. Dd14's team won. Then, S and R were here for dinner -- and a late trip to DQ. S ran the half marathon too, but she stayed with a friend who was going at a slower pace, so she didn't get to test her own speed. But she did bless her friend.
OK -- enough rambling. I'm off.
Have a great day all!

Re: MONDAY MOTIVATOR
My motivator for today is my usual - get it done so I have the rest of the day free.
I discovered last night where Jake's Pup-peroni snacks are going. Pup-peroni snacks are good to use with Jake for training. They are soft so I can break off just a small piece. I have a small leather bag that hangs on the arm of my chair. It is just big enough for my phone, keys, small coin purse that I can keep money and credit cards and ID in and index cards and a pen.
There is a small opening on the outside that I put his treats in. I stand them up so they are easy to get. I check it before I go out in the morning. I caught Jake yesterday helping himself when I wasn't looking. It explains why I thought there were more in the bag and why he isn't always hungry at night.

Re: MONDAY MOTIVATOR
I've been up since 5:15ish myself and also had an interrupted night. Macs was noisy from a storm in the distance - long enough that I took him to guest bedroom where he could sleep up against me. I've done some CUOP-ing in general, and then took ds downtown to his job; we also stopped off at Starbucks.
I haven't done anything to start cleaning up here....need to get rolling. Cleaning lady will be appalled - well, maybe not 'cause she saw the house last Monday too after we'd been gone 24 hours.
-straighten family room
-clear kitchen counters (some of that involves moving a plethora of papers to another home for future processing, but that's how it goes)
-drag my bag upstairs for unpacking
-update li&t in RTM and distill down a li&t for the day (in other words, get my day organized?)
Helia, dh and I were alone on vacation in HHI - weird to be w/o dkids!
Indiana, LOL about Jake helping himself. It happens here as well and dMacs is able to get into a lot more. Some days I find him with his nose in the pantry surveying.

Re: MONDAY MOTIVATOR
If it's any consolation, Helia. ....when youngest DS-A graduated we had a party all planned for a date in June. S#1 decided on the day before to get married 1,500 miles away. We flew to the wedding, got back in town at noon and had DS-A's graduation party at 2. Of course I had our very able dd, then about 30, getting most everything ready. That sure took a lot of planning! I was not too terribly happy with S#1 on that weekend. He could have picked any other date. (I had to really think on that one -how COULD she have been that old? -I sure wasn't!So, I guess it should be June 23 -- which doesn't give us much time, especially since dh and I will be in Hawaii June 13 to 19 after returning from my parents' anniversary party trip late on June 10. .
It's still raining out. DH just went by leading the propane truck. They don't very often come in to fill anyone up. But there are so many motorhomes now that they almost have to. Saves people unhooking everything only to drive to the entrance to fill their tanks and then do everything in reverse.
Wish I knew if we were going to be able to get back at these readings. I'd go to town and do my shopping if I thought I had a couple of hours.

Re: MONDAY MOTIVATOR
Oy vey. Feeling so overwhelmed that it's hard to put down a li&t and actually get started. The kitchen table is mostly cleared off; I left my bag there because dcleaning lady is working upstairs and I didn't want to plop it down where she's cleaning. I've taken meds/vitamins this morning too.
PODA:
-back to routines
-info dh needs for new house loan (2 items)
-addendum to new house contract, print and sign
-call the recommended lady regarding blind options for new house
-cancel dkids dr appt on Wednesday and reschedule for August (for ds' ADD meds, dd is no longer on meds so may not even have to/want to go)
-four temple matters: email/call to get started
-one work issue - need to listen to phone message and return call and/or email re needed info
-need milk/bananas from grocery at a minimum
-may need to p/u ds at six p.m.

Re: MONDAY MOTIVATOR
I'm up. Deadlines are my motivator.
I have church, business and house work to attend to today.
The church's 150th anniversary is Sunday and I have my finger in many parts of that.
The international accountants have been shipped my year-end books to do their magic so I'm on call regarding that today.
Dh gets home on Wednesday and I'm out all day tomorrow and almost all day on Wednesday so I have to finish up the housework today.

Re: MONDAY MOTIVATOR
Good Morning!
Motivator? Potential EMBARRASSMENT!
Embarrassed of someone seeing my home in this state
I always feel like I've not done my best when i get behind and it makes me frustrated.
Hum.....that is real but so negative. Let me try again.......
Motivator? DETERMINATION!
Determined to get our home ready to welcome anyone who drops by for a visit.
Determined to do my best today.
