Harriet, I respect your knowledge of yourself, knowing when involvement becomes unhealthy for you. Your influence here is always positive!
Dr. appt. for dd14 took a little longer, discussing options and next steps. She has an appt. with her pedi tomorrow, so that is timely. If she goes on Isotretinoin, she has to be on bc pills first. That is the law. I'm not thrilled about it, but we will play by the rules. We've been told the pills themselves might be helpful too. After the appt., I took dd14 home to get some lunch b/c she missed her lunch hour and wasn't sure her science teacher would let her eat in the classroom. She doesn't eat much for bfast and she has a big history test later this afternoon, so I wanted to ensure she would get some nutrients into her body. I have taken her back to school.
Ds sent me a list of emails for his friends, so I have now sent out the evite to 16 teenage boys. He says there may be more.
Thank you for all the affirmations re: keeping the awards night program! Yes, it is all there pretty concisely, so concisely that some honors and one big award are missing, but he has enough down there.
--And I just want to say that our not putting out his awards at his grad party is a matter of our own personal conscience and a matter of what we think is most helpful for our family. Other families make different choices. Some of our kids are extremely competitive, and I'm not sure how the girls would feel their awards will compare with ds' (we don't yet know what their awards will be, how many, etc., but ds is a hard act to follow in many ways; it is nice that dd16's interests and abilities are so different from his) - and we don't want to get into comparisons between them anyway. *phew*
Moving on with my day. . .
