We are off the road for the next two days for some R&R, laundry, empty tanks and just soak up the quiet. Big problem - campground leaves a lot to be desired. Looks like it used to be a gravel pulloff for trucks and someone put some electric, water and sewer in it. In the corner between I-80 and busy US hiway. Last night's Wallycamp was better. But we have paid a lot more for a lot worse.

First up is get the laundry rounded up and take a long hot shower while it whirls. Then a nap.

Its a hard life but someone has to do it.

Thoughts from CUOP:

We have a locked thermostat in Fellowship hall. Doing the funeral, it was very hot in the kitchen but along the way it kicked in and we had air. I don't know what changed. DFriend said since she scheduled her memorial for a Saturday when the ministers don't work (hence my comments the other day about work vs. ministry) she was required to pay both the music minister and the attending minister, also the janitorial staff, which like Lucylee I don't know why she had to pay because we Deaconesses cleaned up everything...which wasn't clean from Fri. night service when we got there... and this is a very long run-on sentence!

Moving on from that: helia, I am very impressed with your DKids and their academics and also their level of maturity (from what I can figure). You must be very proud! I would be displaying the trophies or awards or whatever DSon got. One can put things out to see without gloating, IMHO. I did that with DD's trophies for cross country and for the ones received from the church team.

OKay, should you maybe forward that information you got with name/address to your lawyers? How is their younger baby doing? Aren't nosebleeds fairly common with youngsters? Mine always had multi-bruises from some mishap. I have pictures of myself in a Brownie uniform with big bruises up and down my shins. I was less than gracefull!

Today has mostly been taken up with phone calls, re: job. Inspections today generated additional work...DH thought he'd have most of the day off...but he handled most of it with me helping on the phone. He seems to be doing better staying on top of things these days. I do know he is trying very hard. It is hard for me to watch him coming in though with his limp. He stopped for his lunch and I had just fixed his coolers, he didn't expect to be out that long...

I love anything made with cabbage. Must be the Irish in me. But I only usually make one head's worth. I like the coarser slaw, though, so I hand shred it with a big knife. It doesn't take as long as it sounds. BWTG, Kathryn. I hope your finger isn't too sore.

(Lucylee) this shower will be a thing of the past soon. Take lots of pictures, you will enjoy them later as DBaby is growing up.

The only thunder I hear is in my head! Been down two days with a nasty migraine. Hasn't happened in a long time. It' the pits and I know sweetie is ready for me to be over it as well .

Yes, we have a paid custodian at church, and the secretary said that she will mop and do heavier cleaning that we are not expected to worry about. I guess we just straighten up & make sure the dishes are washed, basically. This payment doesn't go to ac, etc., however, b/c the check is made out directly to the custodian.

DH is going around grumbling about this now... how ridiculous to pay her to mop when he knows we are not going to leave it in need of mopping... I'm just ignoring him. I was in the meeting when we set this policy, anyway, so I knew the rule to begin with. * sigh * Dcousin said she wished she had just had this at her house, on principle.

I may have to join MT in a nap...

Our high school graduation is always outdoors on the football field, weather permitting. I like it that way, too. It is always VERY hot when it starts, b/c we stagger starting times across the county, and it was at 5:00 pm this year... but still, better than being inside a hot gym. When I graduated, we had the ceremony in the county coliseum, which is somewhat larger than our gym, but still very hot & stuffy.

Back from the city. I'll try using more fingers to type. Middle finger is starting to get sore but isn't bad enough to take anything for. My tetanus shots should be up to date but I should probably check that. No sign of blood on this second bandage so I'm sure the bleeding has stopped now.

Dh's appt went well. The result of all the heart tests is that he just has to be seen yearly for now.

We had lunch out. Then stopped at a thrift store and I found a Laura Ashley dress that will do for my dress and a lovely hat that matches. Yay! For $15 I'll have close to a period costume. The dress is big enough on me that I should be able to wear my crinoline with it to add to the effect. We stopped at the costume rental shop for dh but they started at $150 and were just for rich men, not farmers from the 1860s so that wouldn't be right or affordable. So we'll stick with white shirt, trousers and suspenders and a straw hat for outside. Hit another thrift store to look more for dh but no luck there either.

Got the car stuff we needed (new wipers, soap and a rotary waxer so I don't have to rug by hand.)

Came home and will now walk to the general store for the mail. But I'll have something to eat first since I'm a bit peckish.

This morning, I made a trip to lawyer office to talk with paralegal eye-2-eye. I didn't have an appointment and she is so busy that I hate to bother her, but I wanted her guidance on this matter. I try to always keep my questions/calls to a minimum,so I won't become a nuisance even though i would prefer to know ever detail of the legal goings on . ANYway, paralegal doesn't think this new contact/information will be needed or used by lawyer, however she wants us to keep the recorded message, name and phone number.....just in case. An unexpected benefit of talking to her in person was receiving a copy of transcript (29 pages) of last month court proceeding. It was interesting reading even though i don't understand all the legal talk/interactions that went on between the 3 lawyers & judge. The judge gave them until June 14 to answer the same question they have refused/ignored previously. Then June 25 for pre-trial......again.

Focus! I need hourly focus to keep my mind from going places that isn't useful and/or productive.

In the next hour I'm going to be working on sorting LO summer & winter clothes that were once neatly folded in the top of his closet, but have gradually become a hap-hazardously mess of STUFF piled up.

While driving to p/u ds I realized that I'll probably need to take him to work in the morning, so I really should go on to the temple in the morning and work then. I may try to log on tonight and do some of what I need from here, but I suspect that getting it done in the a.m. there will be the most efficient. Have been emails flying back and forth on several issues including the one the rabbi discussed w me this morning.

So nothing's been accomplished.

Ds' graduation was inside a local University's convocation center; nice space. Likely a/c in the bldg. My high school graduation was in one of the theaters of the local University's performing arts center. It was (and still is) a very classy facility, unlike the high school building.

This county does all HS graduations on the same day and uses several locations around downtown, depending on the size of the class. All have A/C, thankfully!

Helia - it is fun and uplifting to see how well your DChildren are doing. Please continue to share their accomplishments and challenges. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

TADA report. Closet is now neatly organized. Four plastic tubs are now holding clothes which have been sorted by size and/or season. Another stack of clothes are ready to be added to the GW sack (after LO wakes up from nap). The newly organized tubs each have a 3x5 card describing the contents taped to the outside of tub. I thought this would take forever, but it went quickly once I made my mind up to do it.

Feeling energized by this success.

Time to stop and get supper cooked/served/cleaned up.
