I'm glad we aren't traveling today as the wind is blowing. The MH is rocking a bit as we don't want to put the stabilizers down. One has a broken spring and might not come up - we don't want to tempt it out here where there is no repair shop.

Blog is up. No pictures again. I have just been taking mental pictures as the ones from the camera don't do the landscapes justice anyway.

Oh - I found out what all the police cars were about. A high speed chase thru 4 counties. They caught him in a cornfield about 5 miles away.

Just hoping for no infection, Kathryn, as I avert my eyes. Hope it's fast healing.

Just had to go move the car and the golf cart. They're coming with our new metal awnings for the 3 slide-outs on the north side of our park model (living, room kitchen, bedroom). They've been stored at another campground since last fall -they've been waiting for a truck with an 8' bed I guess. They've been paid for all that time. Now for dh to find someone to help him install them. They'll drop down in the fall when the slides are brought in.

I did a LOL early this morning. Threw it in the washer twin and then went walking with the group from the campground -for a little ways. I thought about drying them on our drying rack, but got lazy and dried them in the dryer twin. At least that load's all folded and (TA-DA, frolicking here) -PUT AWAY.

Just priced the inhaler medication the Dr. prescribed for dh yesterday. When I first looked at the pricing on M e d Co it said the insurance paid $20,000 a year. That just didn't sound right. Finally realized I had put in that dh took 1 pkg (thinking it meant one packet) a day and it figured it at that, telling me insurance would cover it. I think not. When I went back realized I should have said 1 pkg a MONTH. Brought our cost by mail down by $50 and theirs down a whole bunch! However if we get at the pharmacy as he prescribed it: $76.14/month for each of 3 months and then it would be $253.81 each month after that. Can we say M O N O P O L Y? It's my understanding that some of the big named pharmacies such as Wa l g r e e n's are discussing suing Med Co over this. Well actually it's the insurance carriers -ours being M ed Co.

I've procrastinated enough -time to do dishes! (Big time -at least for 'camping out').

DSonIL is seeing a cardiologist today. Looks like he will be having a procedure for blockage the first part of the week. This may buy him time he needs at work. Tests yesterday showed blockage and an immediate need for this to be done. They started him on aspirin regimen yesterday. They immediately made appt for today with the cardiologist.

Oh, Dee, I'm sorry about your DSiL. Sounds like very expensive medicine for DH. I hope it helps him.

Kathryn, I just looked at all my fingers, there's not a scar on any (except for recent quilting ones) and no flat spots, so wherever it was has filled in and rounded back out. Hmmm, I wonder if my fingerprint is the same? I've never been fingerprinted. I guess I'll just stay out of trouble.

Speaking of trouble, thinking about MT with bad guys being caught 5 miles away. I'm glad it wasn't any closer.

Few stacks of paper dealt with. Filing. Copying. Couple phone calls dealt with. One call to make. I'm sitting here eating breakfast / lunch. Rain stopped but it is muggy, hot, humid. I can't wait for tonight.

Feeling on edge - not sure why. Maybe it is the upcoming trip to my parents. . . .

Warning - a bit long, but wisdom would be welcome. A Neighbor quandary: Two days ago, our elderly neighbor lady gave us the annual phone call to complain about our forsythia bush on the corner. We get so busy in the spring, we don't get our yardwork done until school is out. It is overgrown, but we actually trimmed it earlier this spring along the front and top, the parts that would block a driver's sight, which is what she claims it is doing. We didn't do the whole bush at the time b/c we were short of time and there was a cardinal nest with a mama bird sitting on it toward the back of the bush. I guess what we did trim wasn't enough?? Earlier this spring, as an experiment, dh and I actually drove the sedan down that street (our house is on a corner) and checked out the intersection where she says our bush makes it difficult to see. We wanted to see how bad it was; she makes it sound awful. Actually, we could see fine; there is a good 5-6 feet between the edge of the bush and the curb. In fact, our evergreens further down the road seem to do more to block vision than the forsythia. However, if you look the other direction, to the right, THAT corner is covered with brush right up to the curb. Our sight was significantly hampered that direction, much more than by our forsythia! I wonder if she complains to those neighbors? They have never trimmed it back . . . . This rankles a litle with me. I do feel like we should trim the bush - well, I want to anyway b/c it looks quite unruly. But also, I do want to be a good neighbor. However, I ALSO feel she is perhaps being. . .I'm not sure what to say. . . a little subjective? Not fair? A little heavy-handed? Or, she is using the sight issue as an excuse for being irritated at how it looks -- but she is a pretty frank person, so I'm not sure she would do that. Also, she only contacts us to complain about the bush. If she would contact us once or twice a year to say something kind and positive as well, that would make me feel very differently too. I don't have a relationship with her so I can't really dialogue with her about these things, unfortunately, so that means I have to resolve my feelings and come to one-sided reconciliation on my own. I used to run into her at the gym, and she was always friendly there, but the annual phone call is a bit more difficult to swallow this year, especially after we checked out the situation for ourselves. Usually, it doesn't bother me at all! Dh doesn't want me to call her back or do anything; he says he'll take care of it. Thanks for letting me write this out here! Just writing it out has helped a lot!

8th grade graduation was very nice -- a bit hot as we were all crammed in the school auditorium. A couple of the kids put together a slide presentation and some kids volunteered to give speeches, which was nice. I guess this is my 3rd one at this school in 4 years so it's not so novel. Dd14 looked very nice in the dress she made this week. Maybe I'll post a photo! Kids got medals for good grades; yes, dd14 has been a straight A student all the way through middle school, but about 15% of the kids were straight A students at least through 8th grade. It is mho that she has not yet been properly challenged academically; hopefully that will happen in high school, though probably not next year. . .

Anyhow, I think Harriet'd dd13 is graduating today too. Perhaps their ceremony was more noteworthy.

Did a lot of talking with the Lord while I was walking, too, and reviewed J&C prayer requests from our village, too, so I hope some of you are feeling His presence lifting you up this morning, also.

I keep thinking about what dmom said, about ddad wanting to visit ds/ddil, but afraid of the shape the dog will have the house in, knowing that will drive him crazy, and knowing that he will be hard-pressed to keep from blurting out some kind of crack about how they're living, you know, and then hurting their feelings and making them mad... so he just hasn't been in the house since the dog arrived. And of course, when the dbaby gets here, he'll want to see it more... and they'll probably wonder why dparents never come to see them... * sigh *
The dog hasn't made a big mess in the house at all. She is well-trained as far as letting them know when she needs to go outside. However, she does shed pretty badly... and she has scratched the door facing and some of the sheetrock beside the front door... so I'm sure ddad would notice that, first thing. And since ddad was in charge of remodeling this house, he is going to probably take it kind of personally that they have allowed this.

I will enjoy my drive, I think. I used to go to the orthodontist in this town, plus the drive takes me past the place where dmom & one of her best friends used to take me & the friend's daughter swimming. I miss those days.

(((Helia))) Sometimes people are just like that. If you think the bush needs trimming, trim it some more. You've done well, driving the route yourself and checking it out. If she calls again, you can tell her you did that & you did not think sight-line is a problem. At that time, you could mention the problem in the other direction, if you wish, or just let it go. Try not to worry about it. You've done all you can.

Dishes done -yay! Just in time too -couple came by to see our 'new' park model. Glad dishes were piled clean and not dirty!

I'm eating lunch (sort of) -albeit not a healthy one (graham crackers & indulgent cream cheese) (dark chocolate is good, right?)

DH now has the fireman, I bought for him a few years back, finally on the berm, squirting his fire hose. It looks great up there! He stands about 3' tall and has the hat & fire gear, etc. Bought one for DS-A too -wonder if he ever did anything with it. I'll have to look. Maybe dh can offer to do it for him

Golf tournament here tomorrow so dh will be busy all day. Now tstorms are forecast. Originally the forecast was good.

I just shudder when I think about your finger, Kathryn. I do remember Harmony doing that to one of hers.

See clouds are forming again. We had a doozy of a storm just miss us last night about 7. It traveled northwest
to southeast and had lots of lightening/thunder/hail/rain. It was just a strange scenario for her -I'd expect it in FL. Supposed to be sunny today though -of course it was yesterday too.

DH is working on the cypress water wheel now -getting that ready to put up on the berm. Have to buy a shallow plastic bin to hold water to go into the ground first. I know he's enjoying finally having some time to do some of these projects that have been 'hanging' for so long. He's been planting our berm (6 levels) with perennials instad of petunias this year. Love the look of the petunias but doing it every year was getting to be too much. Now as these things spread we'll intersperse some flowering plants for more color.

Some people just seem to need to find things to control. I ran into one of these type people Wednesday night. She is new to the church and was the first time I had met her.
Background information ..... The children run in the arena before/after church. The arena has dirt floor and is surrounded by 5' solid fence so it makes an ideal place to corral the children so they can be easily observed and kept out of harms way.
ANYway Wednesday night this new person apparently took it upon herself and decided the children shouldn't play in the arena. She loudly told the children.... "You children get out of there. The preacher said for you children to stay out of there because it is muddy".....then made them all leave before closing the gate to keep them out. One of the other childrens mother and I was standing nearby talking/watching them play and we were dumbfounded. By kicking them out of the arena it meant the children then went to the outside of the building to play......in the parking lot. DANGER! Two of the mothers followed the children outside to watch them, but I was too curious about this without investigating further.
In the 10+ years we have attended this church, I have never seen the arena muddy. I went inside the arena and walked around and didn't find any mud. I then saw the preacher nearby and asked him about the mud and he looked at me like I was bonkers. I asked him about the children playing in the arena and he said "that is where they are suppose to be". So without "tattling" on the new person, I knew that she had took it upon herself to move the children playing area.

I brought the children back into the arena and acted as if nothing had happened. I gave them some directions to restart their play "let's see who can run around the barrels the fastest....etc" I'm still kinda confused about the whole thing. I'm going to look for an opportunity to visit with her in private in a friendly way about the incident.

Took myself out for lunch. It was successful because I got the finger cots, saved over $15 on windshield wipers, returned the expensive wipers, got milk, cheap gas and my toenails done. The Wal mart nails place has a $10 change polish charge so they took off the old and put on clear for me after trimming the nails. A much better price that $85 which is what I pay in the market village (which is more than I pay on the ship!)

I still need to do my finger nails for Sunday but they will be clear as well. They are too short for anything else and colour would also draw attention to the bandaged finger.
