Had a good day at church. We have found a very caring church family here. Woke up a little late, but still got to Sunday school on time. Must have had 50 people in our class--so many that the coffee ran out!

It's a scorcher here today, too. Will be staying inside, but may get a walk in later when temps cool off.

Home from church. I'm exhausted. Everyone worked so very, very, hard today.

I'm in a mood so I'm not going to write much. Can't figure out why the mood. Hopefully just tiredness.

The cake turned out just fine and the congregation loved the idea.

Glad to see an update from Dee.

Church was good today. LO was.....uhmmmmm......a 3 year old. He escaped from his class AGAIN during church. However, this time we were watching so he didn't get very far. OH the joys of little boys and their adventures!

Harriet - I put my hair up and forget about it too! The weather today (30+mph wind along with 100+ degree temp) made my hair style easy to decide. I twirled it around and stuck a clamp underneath it. That 5 second hair style left all the loose curls cascading down the sides and back. E-a-s-y, cool and almost carefree.

My hair wasn't as easy since it had to be styled first and then the hat put on. The hat stayed put, though, for the whole service and most of the picnic. I took it off at last because I wanted a proper hat that shielded my eyes from the sun.

Our outdoor chairs were just returned to that's everything from the church. We are waiting for a neighbour to come over take some of the coleslaw off my hands. Coleslaw for 75 was left over because the minister kept talking about this as a potluck so tons of people brought salads. I think this is why I'm so grumpy. It was a lot of work and because of her attitude, the work was for naught. I could have spent $10 and bought premade stuff and still had a bit leftover.

((Kathryn)) You got hurt making the coleslaw, and the ol' no-account, low-down, good-for-nothin' hurt place is lasting longer than the good you did with the slaw, which you made as-unto-the-Lord with all good intentions, longsuffering, and a heart full of love. That's what's the matter. Could you offer any of the coleslaw to a mission/food pantry tomorrow morning? I guess it's pretty perishable, though, so that might not work.

Twins' Mom, why does she want you to write? I think I missed something. How terrific to get to see rooms that are laid out so much like your own will be - ideas must have been flowing.

OKay, today after a soft, sweet song and its sign-language was taught to the children during the children's message, the little boys were released and they ran squeeeealing past the pianist to their nursery classroom. (Ouch) The pianist turned to the congregation and said, "That must be the chorus." to much laughter.

ellyphant, that is a lot of people! I know for some folks the coffee is vitally important as they first arrive!

Emptynester, did Mr. Emptynester find old friends to enjoy?

Harriet, dd is a camp counselor this year at the Jewish camp she used to go to - has been away a week already. Cell phone coverage at the camp, over in the NC mountains is spotty, and campers receive mail there. I guess she wants mail and care packages too?

I've done almost nothing. Never went to s2s or make the bed.

The baby shower was a GREAT success. At least 39 people attended, in spite of pretty heavy rain most all afternoon, and quite a few others sent gifts. DDIL and I felt very humbled and impressed w/our church family. We're exhausted, but it was sooo nice.
We had plenty of food, of course, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
DD is home now, trying to rest. I helped her unpack everything and left her with extra kool-aid mix, grape juice, and ginger ale. Thought the ginger ale might come in handy!
I think dh and I are going to take a piece of cake to his aunt at the nursing home.

My hair ended up in a ponytail.

Jake's pet frog died yesterday. We hadn't seen it since the garage door was open for long periods of time.

It got in the garage and was in the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up flat.

They had this thing going. Jake would gently put his paw on the frog and it would hop once and wait for Jake to do it again. They would keep it up for quite a while.

I was surprised the frog allowed it.

Dh and I snuggled on the couch and watched Being Elmo on Net fli x. We really enjoyed it. Then we watched Kevin Clash on The Daily Show and then watched Jim Parsons on the Daily Show. Dh doesn't watch it often but he enjoys the ones I share with him. It was nice to be still for a while.

He's making up a light supper for us and then he'll watch movies tonight. I may or may not join him depends on the movie. I'm absolutely exhausted - even eating is overwhelming to me right now. On the other hand, I've figured out a really comfortable snuggle position on the couch with him and that feels wonderful. It's funny to look at him (if I jump up to get something to eat and come back to the living room) because he's kind of covered in pillows and a blanket to make him 'fill in the gaps' and make him comfortable to lean up against.

Harriet Your dd commented on his suspenders. He's actually just wearing his regular suit pants and shirt. He has buttons sewn into all his pants and set a suspenders for each. He hates clip on suspenders.

Harriet - DH found several old friends. Had to laugh because after church at the coffee hour - all the women sat at one table and all the men at another. Guess where I sat?? Nobody puts Baby in a corner nor puts MT with the women!!!

Lucylee - See we told you!!! We knew the shower would be great. Now relax. Enjoy the anticipation of that new grandbaby. And, please, tell your mind that that great-grandpa-to-be is blowing smoke and should be given a thought. You know it is all in your mind, don't you?

Dee - hope DH continues to improve and they find the solution.

KIC - snuggle time is good.
