Our buyer called yesterday and said that their buyer has an appt with his banker on Friday to get his money. I asked her if he was going thru the title company and she didn't know. I called them this morning and they haven't done the title work on it. She said she would get busy and get the settlement costs figured and sent to us and our buyers so we can bring the right amount in a cashiers check to the closing. Ours will be fees and prorated real esate taxes. I am very uneasy about the way our buyer worded it. I would have thought she would have said he was closing on Friday. So................ we will wait and see! :?

The weekend before last, dh and I were at the other house doing the yardwork, when our buyer showed up. She was bringing a bunch of plants. We helped her unload them. I almost commented that I had planters just like them. When I was mowing the other day, I noticed that I have planters missing. I had emptied them and stacked them up in a little fenced area behind the big garage that is a dog run. It isn't like I couldn't spare some but it just seemed weird that she helped herself, since the sale isn't final.

Dh worked on the underground leak in the sprinkler system over there on Saturday. There were so many roots, etc. He ended up with his knees hurting and a wrist that was hurting after all the digging, pounding, etc. that he had to do. He ended up calling a sprinkler service on Monday. Even with their expertise, they still worked another 6 hours on it. But it is done!

I am going to go over there today and vaccum, mop and clean the bathrooms for the final (I hope) time! Dh leaves the 22nd for his Canadian motorcycle trip and I am hoping that the sale will have went thru and we can get on with our lives.

Dd2, the little girls and I went for a walk/stroller ride after she took dgd15 to cheerleading practice. Afterwards I rode along so that she could get gas and a cappacino. We drove by her perspective business building and the doors were open. She had been told that they were going to start working on it yesterday and should take 2 weeks. She was getting nervous because they haven't drawn up a contract yet, but at least they are doing the work as promised. I think my eyeballs popped out of my head when dd2 told me that when she mentions moving, her dh says they aren't moving unless it is to the farm. :o   They have just been in their house 7 months and 2 days and she has already talked about moving!!!!!!!!!!!! The building she will be renting was actually for sale but they agreed to rent it to her. It has 2 apartments above it it. She told me that if the business is a hit, that they will buy the building and have the upstairs remodeled. The kids and her will stay there during the week and her dh can stay at the farm or come there at night. Then her and the kids can go to farm on weekends or whenever. I tell you that girl is constantly looking to change something. We are curious to see how she is going to handle the confines of a business.

Guess I better get a shower and get busy..................

Well here goes nothing. I have a patch on the right eye that he did yesterday and I have to wear it 24/7 for two days. UGH! When I took it off this a.m. to put the drops in it I was soooo amazed. I can see clearly out of both eyes and everything looks so bright and clear. Then - I go to read something - like posts here - and not so good. I am not wearing my glasses because that really fouls everything up. I can't have new glasses for 3 more weeks and I don't know how I will go about reading enything. Probably good because I read too much anyway. I am off to see my dear little doctor in a few hours.

Oh Yes! I am glad Cowinkie told you about Sweetie. Mr. Guy and I are constantly amazed  at what he has done and can do. I love it! We went someplace - a huge big place - one night and he had done the enire computer system for this place - and another one like it. There is no end to Mr. Guy's Friend
<b>

I am gone - too hard to do this with my head right up against the screen.

Yes, Cowinkie and Sweetie I am doing real well. I hate to have to go without glasses tho!

Hi Cathyy. Love the title for today. Haven't heard that expression in a long time. My grandmother was always giving her housework "a lick and a promise". I should try that today!
.
Harriet--when I was your daughter's age, mosquitos loved me, too. Now, 40 years later, they don't like me much--or maybe I'm not outside as much. I do remember a camping trip with my grandparents where I was itching so horribly from the bites that I "scrubbed" my legs with my hairbrush. I know that sounds gross. It's a wonder I don't still have scars from that! You are certainly not a bad mother, by the way.

Sherinjoy--glad to hear such a good review of the show. Will tell my daughter about it. Way back in 2005, we took her to see MOVIN' OUT, which was a musical of Billy Joel songs. We all enjoyed that. Would love to see something like that again.

As for men leaving the workforce...my husband spent a year at home, unemployed, and quickly realized that he would need a hobby when real retirement came. He spent his time working on the house, which we knew we would be selling. It was a good year for us, in many ways, since we got a taste of what retirement would be like and determined that we are able to spend all day together and not kill each other!
How you do your work is a portrait of yourself.

Happy Birthday to ME! I have a repaired swamp cooler and maid service for my birthday. My brothers called yesterday and my parents won't call because they are in China. A friend sent me an eCard, other than that I doubt there will be anything special. I have a board meeting of the animal organization tonight. I am still not getting paid. Hey, just now my office mate remembered! Guess I was mopey for nothin'.

Last night I remembered the dog's water. He wanted to play with a dead bird. I will throw him a ball, but not a dead bird! I also remembered to set out the check and the sheets for the maids. At VBS I counted money and worked on my crochet project. I still need to call the pet sitter.

What is MBP?

A VERY MERRY BIRTHDAY Elizabeth!!!!

Ellyphant...being able to spend a day together and not killing each other is a good thing. I keep telling my friends...I'm retired and STILL love being with my Sweetie. Course I was always unemployed during the summers so we've had lots of practice ;)

I sort of retired in 2002; my health had taken a turn for the worse so I simply quit working. We were never dependent on my income, so it wasn't a big deal. My husband retired in 2006, at 49. We have pretty much been together all day every day since then! We have separate home offices and do our own thing all day, meeting in the living room several times a day for time together.

My health has improved dramatically, primarily due to my taking 5000IU of vitamin D3 daily. Our doctor knows and approves.

We are really enjoying our retirement. I cook and bake and clean and play World of Warcraft, and sometimes I sew and cross-stitch. My husband teaches piano and composes music. We are happier and more in love than ever before in our life.

Oh, I forgot. I gave the garden the lick and promise already, and started a load of laundry.
I ate breakfast.
I went to the Farmer's Market - and no farmers were there, so on to the grocery for fresh vegetables for dinner.
I started marinating some chicken for dinner.

I need to get the laundry into the dryer and start a second load.
I need to dust mop my floors and dust.

You all know that DH and I retired in 2002 and hit the road in 2003. Living together in a 35 X 8 ft 5th wheel is REALLY togetherness but we did it for almost 9 years. We are still together a lot in our house but it is 18 X 90 so a lot bigger. For the summers we are in a 26 X 8 ft MH.

I can always find something to do - on the computer, crafts and, of course, reading. DH is sometimes a bit more antsy. I tell him to go take a walk. He only reads before bed except I got him hooked on my Nook reader and he sometimes reads during the day. He likes newspapers and magazines more than I do so reads them.

We like to do a lot of volunteer work - Habitat and working at Church camps. But our bodies are saying no to that now. So we do museums and antique stores (mostly looking). It is really sad to see stuff that I used as a young bride in museums.

The dishes in the drainer should be dry now so I can finish them up. DH's school chum is coming for a visit so I'm trying to straighten up a bit.
