Friday Forecast

Post by Kathryn-in-Canada »

What's your "inside the house" forecast for the day?

Will it be sunny and calm or cloudy with sudden stormy outbursts? Will you blow through the house like a fresh breeze or will your house be hot and humid with clutter clinging to every surface like a wet rag?

I suspect strongly that deciding our emotional 'weather' in the morning will affect our day's productivity level.

Of course, the real weather plays a big role in our moods but sometimes I think we've lost the rhythm of working with the weather that our foreparents had. With the artificial environments our homes now create for us, we've also insulated ourselves from the ebb and flow that creation provides as natural energy and sabbath.

Inside the house is down right cold today because it got chilly overnight and I had all my windows open.

Outside it has just crossed 60F but there is full sunshine. The forecast has us heading to the mid-70's.

I awoke with a fabulous attitude and am on the treadmill now. Today dh will be working outside with me. The garage and shed have not been tended to since winter so the floor liners will be removed and scrubbed down, the inside will be swept well and the contents will be either better arranged or disposed of. Poison will go up in the rafters as well since we have at least one squirrel up there (and assume they will move into the attic in the fall if they are not evicted now.)

Last night, I got the upstairs dusted and vacuumed (at most a 30 minute job), doing that during commercial breaks while watching BBT. The rest of the house needs the same treatment but I know it will only take, at most, an hour unless I get distracted.

Let the games begin, indeed! I'm sure dh will be here shortly and ready to go. We're taking a load of aluminum for dcampowner this morning and then going to breakfast. DH is now doubling up on his stomach med and dr. wants him to take 1 in the morning at least an hour before he eats. (This is for the GERD).

A fly! One just flew by me -now where did he come from? Don't they know they are not allowed in here?

Have to put up meds for both of us today (for 2 weeks). First up is s2s -I've obvioiusly been playing on here for over an hour now! Time's a wastin'. TTFN!

Good morning!

Okay, LO, the older boys and you will enjoy the trampoline. Around here if you don't sandbag it plus the tiedowns, then you lose it during a windstorm. We had one of those last night and I don't know if dsonilaw ever sandbagged theirs or not. We had rain and small hail. I was praying that we wouldn't have a large hail storm. I don't want to have to replace 2 roofs. The deductible isn't the killer, it is when they depreciate your roof and you have to pay the difference that hurts. Dd2 lost power and there were areas in town that did also. We kept hearing sirens after the storm was over and wondered what was happening.

Gotta go for now. Dd1 called and wants to walk..............

Good morning! I'm kinda following Kathryn in a good mood. HRH is home this morning and took a walk with Sammie, handled the outdoor chores and set up my ddad's breakfast/supplements for him. Dd13 was up early, chipper, and is cleaning her room. So this is starting out "Sunny and Mild".

Personal-routine-wise, I am poised for a loss on the scale, maybe by tomorrow.

It's Mt. Washmore climb day. I have a DPC and need to check on Desk Days to see if they are due early. A list is already starting for the grocery again.

Dirty laundry is packed and ready for the laundromat. After DH's chiro appointment I will do the laundry.

I am really glad I set up this series of appointments as it has not only helped his back but the stiffness in his neck.

It is really fun to be in the waiting room. The Amish and old order Mennonites really believe in this clinic and come by the van loads. All ages from babes in arms to really old grandparents. The waiting room is always full. The difference in their dress is very interesting. With some, the children do not dress in dark colors - with others not only do the women have dark dresses but also wear black aprons. Some of the men only wear white shirts and others they wear dark colors to match their wife's dress. The difference in the women's "kaps" is also interesting. Pleats, tucks, with or without ties. I have to be careful not to stare.

Time to get going. TTFN

Looking forward to a quieter day today, and I am feeling much, much better. Yesterday was just a weird day because I couldn't shake the mood. I've gotten ds downtown to work and am home again - have a carpet guy coming anytime now, and may treat myself to going back to bed after he's done. This afternoon need to pick ds up, and then later meet dh downtown to go out on the river and go to the festival tonight.

May be sunny outside, but the weather inside got a little stormy for a while! Just spent over 45 minutes on the phone with........you guessed it! Med Co! DH had three renewals faxed from the Dr on Tuesday. Med Co called twice to verify the address as being HERE! I just happened to look this morning at the website and noticed the shipping addresss as FL!!! They've already sent 2 of my meds and 2 of dh's to this address, so what's the problem. Gal at Med Co was very good and had it straightened out (I hope) in 3/4 of an hour. However the meds had already shipped today to FL. So she did a "lost in mail" claim and they're re-sending meds here via U P S the beginning of the week. DD will bring the others with her depending on when/if she comes up. Oy vey!

Just when I thought everything was "golden" with them.

Daily cattle checks have returned here. That means the unloading/loading of horse/s & 4 wheelers in our driveway each day. Some prefer to ride across pastures by horseback and other want to use wheels so they are both loaded in trailer together. The horses are loaded first (in front of trailer) with any 4 wheelers in back. Unloading is done in reverse ….4 wheelers are first to come off trailer then the horses are turned around and brought out. I find it interesting to watch them do the exact routine every single time. This morning one of them was on the phone while going through the process and the cowboys still performed in sync.
