Saturday - Game ON!

I've heard the "Game On" being applied to several things (diets, politics, etc) that I have nothing to do with, however I have to admit it is catchy and energizing. 


I do enjoy playing games with myself and challenging myself to beat my past efforts. Today I will be challenging myself to beat my past completed card count.

Try saying "Game on" and see if you smile, roll your eyes, come up with a brilliant idea, or maybe become energized to start a new day!

LucyLee - you are the sweetest person in the whole world! Just reading how much time, effort and thought you put into each aspect of your life inspires me to not be as cut/dry as I typically am.

Father's Day prep is on the top of my focus today. Also, we have extended family flying in today and they want to spend time with us the next few days. I've known about this for awhile, but it always seems something i can take care of "later". Welll....."later" has arrived. Soooo.....need to jot down a few meals/events to invite them to attend with us. It seems there is always something extra to challenge me. However, no matter what.... must do basics.....must do basics.....repeating

I need to up my "game".

I've been toying with the idea of going over and trying to spiff up dd's motorhome. It's fairly cool out this morning and overcast (though I'm sure neither will last very long) so a good time to do it. She did put some things over there that we were able to bring up with us in May and I have things stowed away that I need to search out. Thought I'd take over clor ox wipes and the broom/dust pan. I won't bother moving the boxes she brought, but I think I have a multitude of books over there that I need to do something with!

I'm s2s and have done my morning routine -other than eat breakfast. Guess I need to do that first. DH is out doing 'his thing'. I'm not giving him anything for Father's Day this year as I bought him a K indle F ire for Valentine's Day and that's it for the year. He's loving it BTW!

Oh, just remembered I've got the water heater going so I can do up the few dishes. Is it not redundant to say "hot" water heater? That's my thought! I don't think we need a "COLD" water heater! At least that's what I tell DH.

DSonIL is going in for his nuclear stress test Monday morning and seeing the cardiologist again Monday afternoon. DH was talking to his DB last night and he, too, is going in Mon. morning for the same thing -same office! So we'll see how they both make out. It depends on what happens after that, when dd is coming up. She's supposed to be leaving on Monday and that's obviously not happening. She's supposed to start watching dgs7 on Thursday. Grandma may end up doing that at least this week. He'd much rather have "Aunt J". I'm sure she's much more fun!

Not giving up on my earlier intentions, however i've not kept my focus upon them. Instead i returned to bed to snuggle and nap. Then went outside and been mowing. DBrother stopped by (which means we spent 15+ minutes visiting over the fence). LO is loving the trampoline. I have/am enforcing strict Nana rules which DH and DBro think are too strict. I prefer to start with strict rules and be able to ease up as need be, rather than the other way.

Good morning, villagers ~

Sitting here with an iced coffee/milk and catching up on desk work.

Yesterday morning first thing I took my big travel mug of water to "coffee club" at the library. No one else showed up, so I was able to read the newspapers and chat with the staff.

Several weeks ago, I decided that going to the library on Friday mornings would be my compromise to be "social" and try to stay informed with Tiny Town happenings. It rather throws me off stride every time, though. My preference is to do chores in the morning and ease into the day. Once DH is off to work, it's just me and the cats, and I like it that way.

However, it has been nice to stay in touch with some of the regular patrons and the Friends of the Library officers. I have it on my calendar to help with the annual book sale fundraiser in August.

Thursday afternoon was the retirement party for a previous co-worker from the community theatre. She'd been having a hard time giving up the job, but she decided her 80th birthday was a good reason to have more time for herself and grandchildren. Wonderful woman with a fun positive attitude, I am determined to figure out a way to see her more often.

I volunteered to sew a costume for the theatre, so today's task is to clear a large enough horizontal space to cut it out. I borrowed some comedy DVDs from the library to watch while sewing -- 3 movies and season 2 of Big Bang Theory. That should keep me busy for the weekend unless DH has something else planned!

I was up and dressed early today to hit the Farmer's Market. Some things were well-priced and some were overpriced - a dollar each for Vidalia onions? Really? But the bag of Vidalia onions I bought and chopped and froze is getting low, so I bought 2 of them.

Yesterday I weeded and then watered the raised bed where the peppers and cucumber plants are. I am doing a bit better than treading water with the gardening. I am keeping the areas I have cleared weeded, and very slowly I am reclaiming more from the weeds and grass that have overgrown them. I am being careful to maintain the reclaimed bits as my first priority. Yes, the rest looks worse and so screams for my attention, but I will not try to build Rome in a day. I don't care if it doesn't all get reclaimed this year - it will eventually happen. Next year the places I reclaimed this year will be easier to maintain, as I am careful to get long taproots and underground runners when I weed.

The big plan for today is a bit more time in the garden, but it will have to wait until late afternoon when the area will be shaded.

Yard work yesterday I pruned the roses by the deck and side yard gate in the back.
today mowing is up soon as H. changes oil in the mower.

At a yard sale yesterday and got a covering for a rolling cart I have here with a fun print that says eggs 5 c., watermelon, and corn in red with a b& w checked border. Ironed it today.

It was a rough day for H. at work yesterday.

I need to find out where the farmer’s market is this summer I think they are moving it.

Dson's dog killed skunk last night about bed time for them their windows were open not a fun time for them! ACK!!!

(((OKay))) Thank you for those kind words... sometimes * most of the time * I put TOO MUCH thought into my life and that's what makes me so crazy.

No time to really cuop -- must go pay my debt to society. Tea for dfriend's daughter... I feel INDEBTED b/c of the wonderful outpouring for ds/ddil @ the baby shower... and this is definitely what passes for SOCIETY in our little tiny-town.

Round 2 of mowing done. It is bright sunshine and I just checked our thermometer = 94 degrees in the shade. No wonder I'm getting hot and tired after pushing a manual mower! Of course, I don't mow non-stop. It is more like - mow 8 minutes.....stop and get LO a drink......mow 6 minutes .....stop and remind LO to not dig in the that part of the garden.....mow 8 minutes.....take LO to use the bathroom.....mow 5 minutes......watch LO jump....repeat, repeat, repeat. That is one of the big reasons I use the mower I do, it is easy to stop and restart frequently.

Game On is a good one. I have been up since 5 am. I got my morning routine done, groceries delivered and put away by 8 am.

Since then I have been working on a few computer things.
