May you weather it well, no matter the outside temperature or weather today. We have a heat/air quality alert for the day. Already warned dh to take it easy today. He did say yesterday he feels the morning inhaler (sp ir iva) working and feels better for it. Got a letter yesterday from the gastro Dr's office saying they want him off P lavix for 5 days before this next procedure (endoscopy). Toying with the idea of checking with his cardiologist to make sure. He can continue to take his apirin however.

DD called last night and was about 50 miles south of Bentley, WV. Imagine they stopped somewhere along the way to rest. Sure that was interesting since they have their black lab with them. First time she's brought her north. Still don't know how dsonil's nuclear stress test came out, but he wanted dd to head north. He has to go back on Friday. Think he was looking forward to not dealing with dgd13 actually. Hoping she'll be good here for dd. She really looks forward to seeing her cousins -for about 5 minutes! Hopefully it'll be different this year since it's been 2 years since she's seen any of them. Kinda glad she'll be at camp by the time the new grandson is born and dd can truly enjoy him. She'd mentioned a few weeks back that she's never held a newborn or been around when her nieces and nephews have arrived. Well she was when DGS18 was born but he was whisked off to Philadelphia within hours and by the time he came home, she had moved to FL.

Funny you should mention weather. I was up most of the night watch the weather radar as we were under severe storm warnings. The cells would get to about 20 miles from us and dissipate. Now - this morning - with no storm warnings - we are getting buffeted with rain and wind. But we are on the SE corner of a cell going almost straight north so it should go away soon.

Because of the wind driven rain, I have pulled in the slides as they seal better in that out. I don't need rain dripping on my pillow like last year.

Nothing planned that I know of. I think DD#2 and DBro might be going to Falls Park (that's what gives Sioux Falls its name) but I think I should head for the post office and try to get my passports replaced. It will make getting my driver's license later in the summer a lot easier to do.

Good Morning!

I had a surprise this morning when I walked inside.....LO was awake & dressing himself! Are we starting a new phase in his young life?

Yesterday I set up a table next to the kitchen counters (away from the cooking area) for LO to use. He is soooo excited with his new "desk". He would rather be busy ....color, cut, glue, etc.... than watch cartoons and I want to encourage that to continue.

Noticing the time......EEKS! Need to be out the door in 30 minutes to get DMom. *POOF*

It feels like 90 now outside and it is still only 8:30.

Dh and I decided to workout one last day and I have the fan on full in here. I've emailed ds (who is training for a half-marathon) to run in his apartment's gym and not outside today and tomorrow. He's asthmatic so shouldn't be out in this at all, let alone running. I've had a hard time inside on the treadmill and I'm not running, I have a breeze and I'm not in the sun.

I've emailed dd with 8 keep cool suggestions. The place she is staying at has no a/c. She had asked to sleep in the basement but I'm not sure the place has a basement - it is a garden home - central hall to the units but each 2 storey unit opens onto a small 15x20 garden. It was friggin hot when I dropped her there at 11 last night.

We had a nice 80 minute visit with her, taking her from the airport, to groceries, to this place. I feel bad because she was going to stay with us but then we are heading off to NS so it didn't work out.

Good morning! We went to bed way too late last night w/ jetlag. Then, I got up too early this morning, considering the time I went to bed last night.

It is going to be pretty hot here today too, Kathryn, upper 80s is predicted. That does make jogging outside a problem; we can go early in the morning or after dinner. Or I can run the track inside the gym which is sort of boring - but I don't have asthma. (Boring is better than an asthma attack.) Clearly, early a.m. is not happening - it is already 8:35. I don't know what dh will do; he is much more committed to it than I am. Dh did his first ever half-marathon a couple weeks ago at the young age of 48.5! That was the same race where I jogged the 5K. He was happy with his time through mile 10, and then he said he sort of fell apart. His overall time was still decent, imho, for an older guy's first, at least. He is pumped up to do another one, maybe this fall, if he can find one. Otherwise, next spring for sure.

What a wonderful new phase, OK. Yes, definitely encourage those interests over TV watching.

A day with nothing planned sounds inviting, MT. Somehow, I think you'll find something to keep you busy.

Sounds like family get-togethers are on your horizon, Dee.

Today: Well, i didn't get Peppy yesterday. I talked on the phone with dfriend S too long; then, I called dfriend watching Pepper to tell her I couldn't pick her up -- and talked on the phone with her too long. SO, I will pick up the dog this morning. I'm also going to radically trim the forsythia, even though I know that is not how it is supposed to be trimmed. Dh did trim it between phone calls #2 and #3. I should probably call the neighbor back too, just to touch base. Need to finish unpacking and do laundry. I think dd14 has a friend coming over and I am taking the 2 girls to field hockey at 5:30. Ds is going to a robotics demo at 6. I think we'll plan on a late dinner after field hockey.

Ds has left for work. Everyone else is still in bed. Dh is running the attic fan, bringing in a lovely breeze through the open windows.

Today is our last day of mid 90 temperatures. Then we will be in the low 80s.

I need to light a fire under my tushie. I was up during the night for a couple of hours - mind got going on undone stuff, then heartburn set in. I slept in but woke up with a cough that almost makes me gag and throw up.

I should go to work today and get the tax return into review and I have some temple work that would go easier at the office where I have three monitors. OTOH, I am getting a late start and could plan to get there earlier tomorrow. Yeah, I really don't want to show up there today. OTOH, I don't want to be a flake but I just can't face it today, I think.

50*-81* today's temp. range no heat wave here I just turn on the heat it was chilling inside like 60* in the house a bit ago. It's sunny here! I slept on the couch after 4:00 some one was snoring.

Kitchen looks good I paid attn. to the p.m. routine last night so that helped.
Have a book going so may be doing a bit of reading today.
I need to water the front did not do that yesterday.
Having some tea first then some coffee decided to change it up a bit.

I don't think I'm weathering things too well recently.

I am struggling to keep up. I have time to do the things that aren't being done, but I don't have the mental/physical energy to continue to work away at stuff.

Just generally had a crappy morning so far, but I've handled stuff. I'm disappointed in a billing I've received and the way this issue was handled (by me) this past month, left us behind the 8-ball so to say.

Been trying to get the immediate caught up so I can do some picking up / cleaning. About ready to start that now.

OKay, LO sounds so cute growing up. I used to say about DD1, "you'd think she'd get her shirt on frontwards at least 50% of the time!"

I read your post last eve. Indiana. That is scary and I'm sure you had lots to think about yesterday. I'm glad you're here to tell us about it all.

(((Harmony))) The crappy morning is almost over - hopefully your afternoon will be better!

Semi-productive morning. Worked out, lemoned my hair, did gardening and hung out laundry while I was forced to be out in the sun and then s2s. I should be back out there drying my hair in the sun but am taking a break.

While I was doing that, dh was out washing the car, putting on the new wipers and treating the windshield with Rain-X. We had bought a car polisher and apparently the job was a cinch with the polisher doing the hard work. The windshield looks so clear right now, you can imagine that it isn't even there.

I've called in a currency transfer so am now waiting for the ForEx guy to arrive here with my C$ cheque and I'll hand over a US$ cheque. Then I'll have to go to the bank and finish my year end accounting (paying the taxes, etc.)
