Harmony, I am feeling the same.
I am struggling to keep up. I have time to do the things that aren't being done, but I don't have the mental/physical energy to continue to work away at stuff.
Physically, I'm not feeling well; went back to bed for awhile. Need to s2s and head out on a round of errands: new house, U-haul store for boxes, groceries, cleaners, what else?

Morning ya'll...

I was up with you last night Twins. Clock said 2 something and I laid around and then finally gave up and got up. Moved to guest bedroom so I could read for a while. Willie Boy joined me but that's like trying to sleep with a wiggle baby :D

Sweetie got up and was right behind me. Sprinkler watering system wasn't working and I swear he was outside working on it before the sun was even up.

My plans for today have turned topsy-turvey. I can't do my office the way I want because I don't have a place to put everything. Decided to look at some inexpensive bookshelves, but I have a 13 yr old tv that won't fit on top any of them. It's way too wide. Talked with Sweetie about it early this morning and decided the solution is to by a small flat screen tv. I had been planning on doing that later, but need to change my thinking on that.

Anyway I need to unload all these boxes filled with books so I have space to work. We decided to load up the car and head to GW in just a little while. We will check out wally world to see if we can find some bookshelves. Sweetie volunteered to put them together when we find some. I told him I would help. He ends up being the engineer and I'm the "monkey". ;)

I don't care how hot it is today...I'm wearing one of my jean jumpers. I'm much cooler in them than with shorts. Geesh, looking around this office gets me into the "geter done" mentality. Told you this was going to be a huge process....

Harmony..sometimes when I get overwhelmed with paperwork I find the anxiety of worrying about what I have to do exhausts me as well. You can only work one day at a time...and thats all. I am great at procrastinating. My solution for me is to make a list of what I need to do and get up early in the morning and attack. I do much better in the quite of the morning when there's no one around to bother me. But it sound like to me you're always in the "shift" gear dealing with whatever comes up and needs to be done right then and there. That's exactly what happens to me at work. I'd start something but never get it all done and then I worry about it. Wish I could lend you a helping hand somehow.

Boxes, not gremlins calling.............cya'll later.......

My hair is finally dry. I took more 'after' pictures. Going over them, I don't see a difference but when I look at myself in the mirror, I can imagine a difference. I'll keep lemoning until I get home from the trip (I'm taking the spray bottle with me and will buy juice down there.) At that point, I'll decide one way or the other. I'm doing it about 2x per week (I only wash my hair 3x per week) and from my reading that looks like it should be enough if it was going to make a difference.

I'm starving but don't want to start cooking in case the driver comes with my cheque.

Had a nice call with my senior friend. Still have to call my music friend and say goodbye. Cancelled the paper.

Happy first day of summer! :)

It's already in the low 90s & expected to go much higher by this afternoon. Tomorrow will be the same. I ran errands yesterday -- bank, post office, gas, groceries, dog food. After lunch I decided to vacuum & clean bathrooms ahead of schedule, so today my main focus is keeping cool, posting here :) & desk work. I'm able to keep the house pretty cool just by keeping drapes & shades closed.

Watered flowers early this AM & it was already muggy & hot. Even ddog plopped down in the shade instead of doing a lot of sniffing. I used the jet spray setting on the watering wand to clean bird droppings off the deck & some windows, plus the spider condos that were hanging all over my lounge chair. Hopefully that will discourage the spiders from rebuilding. Borrowing an idea from Harriet & HRH, I went outside yesterday just to soak up some Vitamin D for about 15 minutes. Had a magazine & glass of water in hand but fortunately I saw all the spiders before I sat down. Sat at the little table instead.

Next up: go through old emails. I used to be so good at keeping this under control at payroll. Time to give the delete button a workout :P

OKay, I can just picture LO at his little desk, having creative fun 8-)

Hope you feel better soon, Twins.

I'm right there, too... I am having one of those days when I just don't really want to do anything but lie in bed and eat cereal.
Gee... I sound like I'm twelve.

I'm going to FORCE myself to get out there & walk, and then MAYBE I can manage the other small tasks that have to be done today:
[ ] s2s
[ ] call -- or go to -- bank
* I just realized I need to reorder checks but there is no reorder paper in the box. Don't know how that happened.
[ ] post office

I should be doing focus cleaning, etc... but I am just not in the mood AT ALL.

I did get a smile picturing LO dressing himself and working hard at his desk!
Tomorrow is another day.

Don't laugh...

While I was packing up all these boxes of books I came across "The Help". That got me to thinking about our village and what a wonderful and loving community we have..similar to the one in the book. Then that got me to thinking more.

I think we should all write a book called "The Village". We could build an imaginary place for our homes. Each one of us would become a character and we could write about how our lives intertwine with each other. It would emphasize our strengths...compassion, wisdom, humor, and love for one another. The book would become a best seller because women would identify with our lives and recognize themselves in each one of us.

Some big production company would buy the rights to our book and make it into a movie...see where I'm going with this???

So my question to you is which actress would play your part??? Mine would be Michelle Pfeiffer because my kids...students always tell me Michelle is a teacher just like me in the movie Dangerous Minds. They are the ones who are always tell me she looks just like ME. And I love the fact my kids love the movie.

Cowinkie--I think Patricia Heaton could do me justice...either her or Whoopi Goldberg!

Oh! I would be Bea Arthur as Maud. Outspoken, woman's libber, but with just an edge of introvert and low self esteem hidden way down.

I went back to bed this morning and let the rain lull me back to sleep for about 2 hours. I woke feeling much better.

I had a problem that fixed itself today. My phone wouldn't charge. I wiggled all the connections and finally decided to turn it off. It woke itself up and is now charging. Who knows why!!! I really don't care why - just glad it did.

Time to get some brunch as I'm starving.

What a good idea, Cowinkie! I recently watched a movie, I'm thinking it was called something like Megans choice..I'm not sure about the name...anyway, a teenage girl with a deadbeat mother and less than helpful grandmother assumed responsibilities for all her younger siblings, made them a home, raised them with much love & support, working and giving up a marriage for them. I thought she was great in that, she would be my choice. Not that I've ever had to give up my life for something as big as that...but I'd like to think that I would if necessary...and that I'd be strong enough to do it... and MT, I can see you as Bea! Come to think of it, maybe I should leave my choice of actresses for OKay?!

Thanks for the support everybody.

My church friend was coming this afternoon. We were to be working on our ministry. I knew I wasn't in any emotional state to be doing this and that was bothering me. She called and cancelled. Boy, she burns her candle at both ends, and all through the middle...but I felt a huge sense of relief, so I know it is good. We're going to work seperately to do this month's job.

LOL brought in and folded. I cleaned out the freezer, emptied everything and finally figured out after much trial and error how to get the bottom bin out and wash up the bottom...this after almost 4 years  but it looks good now and organized. I know what food is there now and have a few weeks' meals in my head planned.

It's raining here. Yay! I don't have to water tonight.
