Oh Funny! Yes, Yes, a book and a movie about our village. Now let me see, who could portray me? Hmmmmm! In high school a lot of people said I was a cross between Polly Bergen and Kim Novak. (Are they still even alive? )

This brings to mind a story I am sure most of you remember. When the big hurricane hit NC and Carolina Miracle's home (and her Mother's) were destroyed and Zygorp flew down there to help them sort through it all and get settled in government housing. As I remember, Webbie and Marla both helped out too. I loved that they did that - especially dear ZY flying down there. I wanted it to be written up in one of the magazines but no one ever did it. What a wonderful thing though and it came out of P & P's forum.


We are off to do some errands and have lunch at a Chinese restaurant that Mr. Guy read the reviews on and it is apparently very popular and good. We will see.

Can't help it, instantly thought of Catwoman, since Michelle Phieffer mentioned. She is Sheldon Cooper's second-favorite Catwoman after Julie Newmar.

Patricia Heaton really could get me on Debra's side when she felt outgunned by the in-laws.

Harmony I so identify with some of what you said today. If mental energy is depleted, then the desire to be busy is lacking. Therefore enjoyment of completed tasks is lacking. I see the fallen paper on the floor, but as I contemplate bending over to pick it up I ask, "What's my motivation, again?" Perhaps we can take an idea from Cowinkie's upbeat post and consider ourselves actresses playing ourselves as the brilliant , vivacious homemakers we are.

My dgirlcousin from 1/2-mile away called to borrow a cup of ketchup! She was grilling out for her visiting children and was determined not to tell them there was none of the one condiment they all like best. I'm so glad 1) she caught me, 2) I was prepared to have a visitor, and that 3) I was prepared with a new bottle of ketchup! Just the other day we were down to using packets! (Shhhhh) I told her it was nice to have a neighbor ask for a cup of something. That's a rarity for me - years between, except when my mother and I used to borrow things.

So glad Indiana is here explaining all this, too!

Also very nice that villagers can go on trips and still stay in touch. Kathryn must say "goodbye" to IRL friends today, but takes us with her.

People used to say I looked like Kristy McNichol but I want Jacqueline Smith. I've always found her to be really classy.

I've got the rock climbing harness, all the games, and 5 beach towels packed in a bin that is under the bottom of the hatch back floor. I've moved the picnic blanket to under my seat so I can reach it without having to pull out suitcases when we get to rest stops. So there's small progress.

The driver came with/for the cheque. Now I'm waiting for the bank to call to authorize the certification of it. It has been at least a half hour and no word from them yet so I might call the bank after I have my lunch.

Dh had is lunch and there are three eggs leftover so I'm making hard boiled eggs for my picnic lunch tomorrow.

I don't know who I would pick... definitely can relate to Patricia Heaton w/Raymond's parents... hmmm... maybe Sissy Spacek? My hair is darker and I'm not so freckled, but she definitely has a Southern way about her that seems familiar to me. I really liked the girl who played Skeeter in The Help, too, and dmom said the description in the book fit me very well. My hair is darker than hers, too... but I definitely have the flyaway/frizzy problem.
Maybe Julia Roberts... or Sandra Bullock... or yes, Jacqueline Smith! She is so beautiful... and definitely classy.
I can see me as Kristy McNichol, too.

Well... I walked 3 miles. I guess that's something.

Now to s2s and take care of the bank thing & post office. Dmom made me remember I could do the bank order online, probably.

** DMom fasting blood work done - with LO holding her hand and observing closely. Hopefully this positive experience will help the first time he has to have blood test done.
** Sam's and WM buying both our and DParents list.
** Filled DParents van up with gas.
** Called & arraigned to meet DH so he could check air in DParents tires and add as needed.
** Let LO pick out cookie to take to Great GrandPa. DDad probably didn't want a cookie, but it was a fun/easy lesson for LO to learn about sharing/taking care of others.
** filled DParents water jugs up for them at MPB
** carried in DParents groceries and put heavy things where they belong.
** Took LO to library for group reading/craft. Todays theme was sun/stars/planets. After reading a couple of books and singing songs the children made a mobile that is suppose to look like the solar system. LO did an awesome job for a 3 year old, but i'm pretty sure his is not an accurate reflection of our solar system.
** met DH at subway for a 'eat fresh" lunch
** Delivered DD latest address to DMIL. DD accepted our birthday card/gift this year so DMIL is going to send her one too.
** our groceries brought in an put away
** Pot of beans put on to take tonight

Next up - mix up cookie dough and let it sit in refrig for a couple hours before baking

OOh, what a fun idea - a book and a movie about our village! Hmm.....I'm not very savvy regarding actresses. I was told once I look a little like Renee' Zelwegger. . . I do like Meryl Streep, however, even though she is almost 2 dedades older than me.

I have picked up Peppy from neighboring village. I have had lunch and worked on reclaiming the kitchen. I have gone through the snail mail, taken care of some emails, and taken a phone call which I need to return -- that is about it. Dd16 has a friend over.

My van was having some serious problems in lower gears as I drove home through our neighborhood. I think it may be the transmission, which we just had rebuilt last fall. . . . .

I am trying to fight weariness with a diet Dr. P. I have the feeling that will only go so far. I'm jetlagged and a little sleep-deprived at the moment.

Onward to unpacking, tidying the MBR, and starting laundry.

I've downed two diet Dr. P's so far today.

Just finished my lunch, a pita pizza and a lot of watermelon. It tastes and feels wonderful in this heat.

The dishwasher is all loaded and ready to run tonight. We are eating dinner out at a church supper (not our church.) No church here has a/c but they also don't have a basement so it will be a very hot time in their hall.

I've brought up a fan from the basement and am using it here in the dining room. The family room, cooking-half of the kitchen and the office have ceiling fans but I can't be in the kitchen right now because I had the oven on to make my pizza and it is very hot in there. So I'm enjoying the dining room. The sun has gone around to the opposite side of the house.

Must bring in the laundry next. It was dry an hour after I put it out but I wasn't ready to pull it back in at that point.

I thought about Meryl Streep too! She is about my age (she is 6 years older). My first thought was Barbara Stanwyck......however since she is dead I guess not.

Snicker-doodle cookie dough only took 12 minutes to mix up and put into covered dish to chill. Clean-up 3 minutes. All done in 15 minutes! This is another example of me thinking something takes longer than it actually does!

I'm debating about cooking something else to take. The church is providing the Wednesday night meal now, but after 10+ years of potlucks.....I just feel weird eating without taking something. I can't help with the setup/cleanup because needing to watch LO.....but i don't want to feel like a leech and contribute somehow. Freshly baked cookies are always a sure bet and usually the first dessert to disappear.

As long as I'm cooking then I have a excuse to ignore the paperwork stacks.

Okay! Alrighty! PIZZAZZ! Shifting focus toward stacks and stacks of PAPERWORK. I am seeking that accomplished "feel good" energy boost that come from knowing I've done my best.

Been busy here recently. Yesterday I got my New Computer (27 inch iMac, with SSD, 1TB HD, and a 2GB graphics card) and since then have been busy transferring data. Apple makes it pretty automatic, but half a terabyte of data takes a while no matter how good the data transfer rate is.

Harmony, do you take vitamin D3? You sound like I was for years. The fatigue, both physical and psychological, was terrible. Vitamin D3 has fixed that. I take 5000IU a day, with my doctor's blessing, as does my husband.

We too are getting the heat. Today is the last day above 90, and back into the 80s the next few days.
