Re: WEDNESDAY 'WHOOPS'
Hello everyone! Last night was Girls' Night Out. We ate Chinese and went to Chuck E Cheese. DD10 ran out of tokens, so we left early and watched Hogan's Heroes at my house. DD says she wants a day to do what she wants to do. I said that was what we did on Saturdays. What does she want to do? Have a TV day. No way!!! I bought a bond today on eTrade, called about an insurance issue, and got my hair cut. I need to look professional now and frizzy and wild doesn't work. It is now shoulder length and not in my eyes. I need to call a friend about borrowing some hats for the trip. She had chemo recently so she has lots of hats that, fortunately, she no longer requires. I will call after my office mate is off her telecon. My new foster cat has taken up residence in my closet. That is an improvement on the sewing room closet. Closing it does no good, she simply opens it again.
Helia: Happy Birthday!
Lucylee: Congratulations!
Okay: What does MPB stand for?

Re: WEDNESDAY 'WHOOPS'
A very big Happy Birthday Helia! Enjoy your Day, I had to laugh (well kinda') at your story about good stuff going to the dump. I had things to go to MS plus nearby was throw-away garbage type stuff and Mr. Guy sent it to MS also. Men!
LucyLee - Contratulations to you and your family. This is the start of a lot of fun. Our little (almost 3) ggd kept us laughing and our toes every minute this past weekend in San Jose. I can't say enough about her. She is bright and cute and we really have a grand time with her. When our DD, her grandmother, takes her for lunch she stops by a table and introduces herself to the occupants. " Hello, what is your name? Well, my name is L**** and it has been very nice to meet you"!
She never quits even when she has to go for her nap. Takes awhile to get her to sleep.
Have a nice day all!

Re: WEDNESDAY 'WHOOPS'
We take out toaster oven out on the shelf at pass-through kitchen window, also I always roast my turkeys (when I do them) outside in the turkey roaster. They raised our KW rate for electricity and our bill is up a bit this year.
Lucylee, I hope things go well with DDiL & baby when they get home. Sometimes it can be the most stressful day. Mother is usually tired and sore, baby is adjusting to the world and they hardly ever sleep at night; but enjoy it all, it's too short, all of it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HELIA!
I was up early and went to church for a mailing. Didn't take as long as usual since the office figured out how to preprint the envelopes with bulk postage and return addresses instead of us doing labels, and address labels were on the insert using the window. Easy-peasey!
I stopped at nursing home to visit the lady I visit. On the way home I rode past our local beach complex. Water is up to the bottom of the very long fishing pier. Then I drove out past our older house and was pleased to see they are in good shape over there.
Lunch and a nap, my blood sugar had plummeted and I needed to sleep a bit. I'm still getting caught up in the house. Desk is piling up. Lots to do.
We have bits of blue in the sky for the first time since last week.

That's probably the greatest reason to go to a hospital, LucyL!
Last year we were all gathered when dZoe was born and we all got to hold her albeit briefly. This time we'll all gather again with dd finally added in (it will be the first time she's ever held a newborn -all her nieces & nephews were at best a few months old by the time she saw therm. She is so excited.) We're all looking forward to seeing this new little guy and then going home to leave the little family some time alone. So thrilled for you Lucy, ENJOY! Harmony's right, it's all so short.

Mechanic just called and our car is ready -just have to take him $320. But that's really rather 'cheap' compared to a lot of places. Just hate to have to put it out right now. Dd's going to take us to pick it up shortly. Glad to have it done before I take dh in for his test on Friday.

MPB = Mom & Pop Business. Small business with no employees. DH and I do all the work ourselves. We own a car wash which means we are open 24/7.
I visited my colorist while LO is napping. This time slot works well for this card. It is a better time than trying to do it early in the morning before he wakes up and I start my AM routine.

Re: WEDNESDAY 'WHOOPS'
Okay, I washed my hair yesterday so I could color it today. I still haven't done it but need to get with it.
Harmony, we too have had electric rates go up. They had been running 6.7 cents per KWH during the summer months and 8.3 the other 9 months. Now it will be $22.50 a month for an energy charge plus 10 cents per KWH, year round. We just received a bill last week that had 2 weeks at the old rate and 2 of the new. Plus we had been gone for 8 of those days. Yikes! I have noticed today that the ac runs about 10 minutes and then is off 10 minutes. This heating and air system is the original. Even though they aren't energy efficient, we hate to replace them until one or the other kicks the bucket. The heating/ac guy told us that the first time one of them goes, we just need to replace them. Because of the age the parts will have to be ordered plus once one thing goes, then it will be one thing after another.
Monday I decided to go to the bank dept that is in the grocery store I shop at, to have them transfer the money from our checking to our mortgage acct. It was supposed to go on principle. When I came home I checked my acct online and it said mortgage payment. Well it wasn't intended to be payments. I was rather irritated. I could have done it myself but considering the amount of money, I was afraid of a goof up. So I called and they straightened it out but I was irritated at the gal who made the mistake and myself for just not doing it myself to start with.
Dgs8 has a ballgame at 7:30 tonight, in this horrible heat. Dsonil plans to be home to watch dgd18 months. He was home 3 nights in a row early enough to go out to eat and that is unheard of for him. He went to the game on Monday night and I didn't. After working out in the heat, he will be glad to be home with the little one. Tomorrow night dgs8 has another game at 8:30 and that will be their season.
Dd1 said that at the funeral the other day, one of the speakers stressed to the kids to not text and to wear their seatbelts. Dgd15 daughter of dd2 had been bad about not wearing one or waiting until the seat belt warning dinged to put it on. I picked her up at cheer practice today and she immediately put it on. We then went to their house until it was time for her to go to drivers ed. We picked up her boyfriend and we were early so we went to a convenience store for them to get a soda. Both times she immediately put it on. I am glad that she took that to heart because something positive had to come out of the loss of their friend.
I am going to try and buy groceries tomorrow. I have been doing it on Friday for ages and it is so busy, so it is time to try something new and see if that works better.
Guess I better get that color slapped on my hair.......................

Re: WEDNESDAY 'WHOOPS'
I've lived in the same small community all my life and am used to small town ways & neighbors helping neighbors mind-set. However, what started in this small community this week is something I've never seen before. To remember & honor a young child that died in a tragic accident this time last year, several in the community are doing random acts of kindness (RAK). This started on Monday and the RAK are multiplying like crazy as more people join in. Most are done anonymously with just a hand written note left explaining the reason for RAK. A few I have seen today -
** $$ left at MPB for next customer
** Gift card taped to drive in window paying for next person meal
** cookies baked and left on door step (ringing door bell)
** trash picked up from the road
** yards mowed for free
** $$ taped to a toy in store
Thinking.....wouldn't this world be a great place to live if everyone did just one RAK ?

Re: WEDNESDAY 'WHOOPS'
I have weeded some in the yard watered the front. Read a chapter in the book I stalled out on last week. Now to get a bit read in the other one as well today is a good day for that. Enjoying the sunshine. Planted a couple of tulip bulbs I missed when I was moving some a while back. Time to go pick up the apples that fell. Dishes are done today as well and part of my walk, journaling done also. I guess I did get some thing done.
Saved the house pics. now that I found a way to do that [pinterest] thought I'd better do it before the contract runs out next mo. or Aug. we are not going to renew! Yea! Big sigh of relief for us here h. talked about that over our date out last night with some of the $ from feeding the dog up the way reaping the benefits of all the woes of it. Thinking in terms of reclaiming the house the way I like it now. Some pics will be going back on the walls but not all of 'em.
