Dneighbor came by and moved some boxes for me - he had moved most when it started raining (alleluia!) and I told him we were good. Guy came by about the yard and he feels he can get it done - nothing out of the ordinary so I'm reassured. I see his truck a lot on the mtn so I know he does a decent job.
I gave dMacs 1/4 of an Acepromazine sedative - it's thundering here and when Dneighbor closed the door of the POD Macs thought it was thunder and was beyond agitated. The Acepromazine is 25 mg - I used to give him 3 to 4 for vet visits, now that he takes pain meds it doesn't take much to make him drunk. I'm hoping it kicks in soon!
Am going to give myself 30 min of downtime on the couch - hopefully by then Macs will be calm and I can take off to the other house.

I'm back from the new house - dh had called to check in and offered to meet me there and do the unloading and taking these boxes upstairs so that was lovely. He also called his massage therapist and she's coming to this house tonight to give me a massage to help my back and hips. Dh really can be a nice guy.
Son of the friend isn't coming to help, but OTOH dh said he and ds will be home around 5:45ish.
Reboot laundry, then head upstairs to try to finish guest bedroom packing.

Productive day at the resource centre although now it is the sad tasks like tossing out vhs videos. Bibles 4 Mission will take all our leftovers for their thrift store but I'm only giving regular videos, not the taped versions of the TV show our denomination produced - taped tv seems to me something that no-one will buy. Videos interviewing special Canadians or theologians may have a market but the weekly tv show giving the news from our denominations point of view isn't as interesting.
I packed all the videos before having that revelation so have unpacked and toss three boxes worth. Still have 6 more to go through (not all videos will have to be tossed but I have to go through each box.) I also got one (of 7 sets of stacks) cleared off of all but bound books. Pamphlets, etc., have been recycled and the containers (folders or binders) cleaned up and ready to re-use. I filled the centre's recycle bin to overflowing just with stuff from that one stack. I still have 9 magazine organizers of old/ancient magazines to recycle from there but will wait until next week. The size of recycle bin is going to slow down the clearing off of the shelves but I'll bring my bins from home in next week. Dh is going to help by taking the first load of stuff over to Bibles 4 Mission since next week is hair cut day so he'll be with me anyway.
I got hold of the secretary at the church I'm preaching at and she talked me through what is expected of me, including a couple of wrinkles which would have sand-bagged me had I not known. I have lots to do by Thursday night at the latest (all the prayers have to be written out and filled into a form for display on the screen.)
Ds picked me up and drove me to lunch and then the dealership. We played 'cars' for a bit (going over all the cars in the showroom) before he had to leave.
My car seems to be fine. They found a nail in the tire (actually IN the tire, not lodged in it) and figure that was the rattling I heard. Plus the source of my slow leak. This was one of those major maintenance times but averaged over the year, after 2.5 years of owning it (and 3 years out of warranty) the car is only costing us $50 per month in repairs and maintenance. I'm pretty impressed. My Chryslers were usually costing me $100 - $150 a month by this mileage (78K.)
I was anxious to get home so just stopped for milk. I can get groceries tomorrow night when I'm in the city for choir practice.
Dd called and I had granny duty after all all four of the dgkids came over we made blueberry muffins so the house smells yummy! They had that and floats for a treat while they were here before swimming I knew that they would burn off the calories. They've left for the water park now. Lunch is over too. They will be back tomorrow and maybe the next day as well.
Before they got here I did another round of weeding glad to get that done and the weeds out in the trash before the garbage truck came by.
I even knit a few rows with dgd before dd came to pick up older ones.
Youngest is still here resting after the sleep over and dozing or watching a movie with one eye open!
Going over to dd's for dinner -well I'm just going to have an ear of corn. I simply can't wait for 7pm for dinner (or later) so I've eaten. I was getting shaky nearly 2 hours ago and moreso after taking my meds.
DDIL texted me around 3:45 to tell me that dbaby is to be delivered tomorrow morning at 9:30. So, we'll be on our way by shortly after 8. Have a feeling their pastor will also be there for prayer before she's wheeled out. So if no emergencies interrupt we'll be grandparents again in about 15 hours.
May be sooner. Just got to dd's. Ddil texted her she's having contractions 5-7 minutes apart for last couple of hours and is trying to get through soccer game before calling Dr.
My Sweetie was hungry before me, so he ordered a couple of chicken fajita salads from the local pizza place. He is so sweet!
My clothesline arrived, but I cannot find my clothespins. I know exactly where I was keeping them, but Sweetie took them to use a couple for something (it was an unopened pakage) and now swears he never had them. They are nowhere to be found!
Cathyy I wish you lived closer, I have 2 unopened packs and one almost full package (not including the ones in my clothespin bag or the kitchen drawer - I use them to close chip bags.)
I just finished singing. My throat and chest are sore. I thought that being an alto meant I didn't have to sing high Es! I will say all this practice has made me feel better about rehearsal tomorrow night. I've been through all the songs at least 5x and while there are rough places (and one I haven't tackled because it isn't on the CD and it is one where I jump around singing both off the treble and bass clef), in general, I'm getting the pieces. At it is still only week 1.
I just had a bit of a shock - an email from the principal of the high school dd begins in the fall saying she is resigning to take an administrative job with the school system in Washington, DC. She was SO clear in her speech to us just a month or so ago that she absolutely intended to continue as principal there next year, but obviously that wasn't true, because she would have had to submit her application long ago for the job she took, and have been in interviews for quite a while. Sigh.
Dee, I like this scenario better, really. Baby coming in his own time, a little ahead of the doctor's idea. I think I might have abandoned the soccer game, though, and asked someone to stay at the game or share transportation duties! Those are close contractions!
I'm hoping it kicks in soon!
