We had a great time at the Rally. Ate too much and basically just sat around and talked. It was a great relaxing time.
We are sitting tonight in a Cabella's lot next to the freeway. It is pretty noisy but I hope it quiets down later. If not, we will probably be able to sleep anyway. We've slept thru worse.
We had a few sprinkles of rain an hour or so ago. Now the sun is setting in whipped cream clouds. Very pretty how the light makes a border around the clouds.
Me - I can't wait for the sun to set - I'm going to bed now. Very tired from a hot day.

Re: Thursday PWYC - make your own theme for the day
I've been packing all afternoon and evening. Ds's friend B came over to help for awhile (he's the son of my dfriend that I mentioned earlier in the week) and his presence spurred ds into helping more. Dneighbor also came over around six maybe and helped pack until about 9:30. Dh and ds have taken my car full of stuff to the new house to unload. I may be done for the night - I am whipped. Still have a lot to pack in dd's room; dneighbor and I were working up there but the dust was getting to her.

Re: Thursday PWYC - make your own theme for the day
I eventually did s2s and then went for a walk. I wore my heart rate monitor and made sure I was walking fast enough. Then had to strip down to skivvies and stand in front a fan, once home, to cool down.
We then had an early supper and heading off to choir. I only sang one piece fully, and a couple of others for the last row of the church, protecting my jaw. It is a bit sore but nothing like last night. Then the smell of smoke came.
There's a brush/forest fire in the west end of the city and in the far east end, the smoke had carried. We drove home much closer to it and got to go through the heavy smoke (but not too heavy.) There's a bit of smell at home but not much (we are a good 15 miles south of it and the winds seem to be from the south-west so aren't blowing much smoke here.)
I had enough time after supper to clean up the kitchen and set the dishwasher to come on at 7. When I got home I did up the few pots we had. So I'm feeling a bit in control. Need to practice the sermon to time it. Then bedtime.

Re: Thursday PWYC - make your own theme for the day
Hooray!!! Sort of.
I am the owner of a brand new acer computer -- I don't even know how much faster/bigger/etc it is than the old one, but I'm sure it is better. I mean -- obviously -- it is RUNNING. I've got aol set up for dh and all his favorites on the list... but I can't get signed in to the at&t home page through Mozilla for myself. I like Mozilla better -- especially for this site -- b/c it really does seem to work better. HOWEVER, we use aol e-mail and dh just CANNOT get used to anything else.
Also, I like my old Gateway keyboard better, and I may switch back. On this new keyboard, the keys seem to be sort of "floating" above the base and there's no wrist-rest space. Also, no space at all between the letters/control/number keys. They are all evenly spaced to each other. The Gateway keyboard sort of has a separate keypad for the numbers at the far right end, and the control/up-down arrow keys, etc., are in between, w/blank space all around them. This will take some getting used to.
Also traded from Vista to Windows 7, and from Office 2003 to 2010 -- so I KNOW THAT'S going to take a LOT of getting used to.
But anyway, the other one had to be put out of its misery.
I just wanted to check in and let y'all know I was making progress.
Also -- (((BIG HUGS))) to (((LO))) and (((OKay))) -- I saw where y'all had quite a trying day. Hope you get some good answers soon!
Our own little one, dbabygs, did fine with his first pediatrician's visit, and ddil & ds seemed to like the doctor well enough. Doctor certainly didn't seem concerned re: any thoughts of him sleeping too much -- and I don't think ddil/ds brought up the subject -- b/c they reported that dgs screamed a lot while with the doctor. He definitely does NOT like being undressed!
OTOH, doctor was concerned a little bit that dgs still had jaundice, and sent him to hospital lab for blood test. She said if it registered too high, they would keep him overnight and put him under the light they use for that. It didn't register that high, though, and everyone is back home now w/orders to add Pedialite (sp?) at every other feeding and return to doctor on Monday.
She also instructed them to give him some time w/out diaper & quit using baby wipes until his skin clears up a little from a bit of diaper rash.
So... basically, everything is pretty normal over there I guess, and ddil/ds were very pleased w/the free baby formula doctor gave them, LOL!
Well... back to my at&t problem...

Sunlight does an amazing job of curing jaundice. We've seen it with our GBabies...a few minutes and the yellow starts to disappear. Congrats on new computer and getting it set up.
It is so hot everywhere. I spent a hot hour sitting outside at public pool while DGSs swam. We have a very nice local pool and for kids it's less than $1.50 for anywhere up to 6 hours of swimming. Couldn't have our own pool for that.
DGKids are so homesick..one is really miserable missing his Mom. I am not an adequate substitute, as hard as I try. We are having our challenges here.
I thought I would never get the kitchen cleaned up tonight. I just kept working and working and working. I do not know what happened in there. And I've been using paper plates and cups. I baked a chicken and mashed potatoes and had salad and veggie. It shouldn't have been that bad...but it was.
Lucy, I thought of you all day long, trying not to say things...because I am doing the same thing. It is so hard. Praying hard to be able to let things go. Finally at midnight I had to separate all unruly children and give them orders. I so wish I did not have to be this tough disciplinarian.
