I'm trying something new with processing pumpkins. I have been cutting (sawing) them in half, removing the seeds and fiberous stuffins, then baking the halves on cookie sheets. Because of the size of pumpkins I can only fit 2-3 pumpkin halves face down in the oven at a time. TOOO SLOW! I need my counter space returned to me so I want them GONE from my counter top. This morning I simply put the remaining 9 whole pumpkins in the oven to bake without sawing or gutting. Soooo simple! I researched it on the internet and it looks like it will work fine. I should know in a couple hours.

Well, that is inspiring to me, OK!

I have been for a 35 minute jog with dh. Now, I'm drinking tea and checking my email. Ds took dd14 to her first field hockey camp session. I'll pick her up at 11.

I think the Sr. Celebration at the church last night went well. Ds said thye enjoyed the rock activity.

Today will be spent shopping and getting ready for dd14's birthday. Well, also a bit of driving her back and forth to the field hockey sessions. She has requested turkey, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce for her birthday dinner - and chocolate souffle' for her dessert. I bought a new souffle' dish a while ago so I'm happy for the opportunity to try it out!

Happy Wedding Day.

It is birthing day in our family. 8 little labs were born this morning - 5 yellow and 3 black. We will be there next week and I can't wait to play with them.

Today we will arrive at DD#1's house and will see DGDs 1 -5.

Good morning I'm waving to every one and it's a smarter Sat. around here b/c I'm keeping my mouth shut today instead of saying some flip comment. We were better last night and it was good to get out of the house.

A friend is going to give me chicken feeder and light getting ready for hens after this heat wave.
I'm going to ask for stuff for the hen house for my bday in Sept.

We talked a bit more about getting ready to pour an extension on the patio this summer/fall when they have extra from a pour. H. talked to the boss and it's not a prob. will need to borrow tools from sil contractor, maybe get his help. The patio expansion is going to be less than the size of a sheet of plywood so not a big project. It was fun to talk about that over dinner of bean burrittos on our date night last evening.

Gave h. a hair cut this morning already did that our on the patio.

Trying to get in gear for the farmer's mkt. this morning.

I've been up for a while. Fed doggies and atr my breakfast but that's all. I have laundry to do... Wash, fold and dry. Need to pick up a prescription... Pregnizone (sp) that steroid pact to stop my itching. I hate taking the stuff, but will do it if it will make me feel better.

Hot, humid, and sprinkling here. I have my footsteps to pick up and then hope to go to my first zumba class. That should be good for a laugh, because I have two left feet.

After I had chest x-ray done the other day, the tec told me I had very long lungs for a short person. I told Sweetie my lungs were as long as a person who was over 6' tall...that' what I was told...Sweetie said... Too bad you don't have the legs to go with them. I replied...well I guess when God was handing out long lungs I thought he said legs and got in line

Apparently, dh has a large lung capacity, and he is pretty short for a guy, 5'6". He told me that years ago, in a bio. lab class at Univ., his lab partner was a huge football player. They had to blow into something and measure their lung capacity as part of a lab exercise. Dh's capacity was measured as much greater than the Univ. football player's. The football player guy just couldn't believe this from a little guy like dh, and so they repeated the exercise 2 or 3x. With the repetitions and the football players disbelief, dh got a little competitive and went all out -- and his lung capacity was shown to be even greater than initially thought! The football player was a bit miffed at the end. . ..I don't know whether they continued being lab partners or not.

My theory, shared by a bro. in-law, is that this lung capacity runs in the family and helps explain why all the siblings consistently function so well high up in the Alps.

I had already started thinking about high-altitude heritage, helia and Cowinkie! Cowinkie, I once had a doctor mention noticing "beautiful" lymph nodes, while she was doing my breast ultrasound. I remember thinking that maybe it's better to have surprisingly attractive/strong features inside than out! (Even though I sure wish people ever told me I had a "beautiful" exterior! But noooooo.

We were watching something about the Dead Sea the other day and dd13 asked me, if climbers on mountains have difficulty moving toward high altitudes, would visitors to the Dead Sea have an easier time than usual, since it's the "lowest" place on earth?

Yesterday, lying on the floor it's funny that I thought of this place and how I would have a story to tell. Long before I got up and iced, I was thinking there was something to look forward to telling the village.

Ds called this morning to firm up supper plans and I told him that I "fell down and broke my crown" and laughed. He listened to the whole story, even asking questions. We made plans, and hung up. After a while, he called back. He was trying to understand how I hurt a tooth, especially since he didn't know I had any crowns! I asked him who was supposed to have taught him nursery rhymes. She ought to be ashamed.

TaDa of the large variety - We 3 pitched in together this Saturday morning and cleaned the porch with soap, including all the furniture which was out in the yard. Then HRH scrubbed the porch floor with dilute bleach solution. The chairs are drying in the sun now.

Dd and I will flip the chairs right side up and go to the grocery for fixin's for tonight, when ds' family comes for supper. By the time we get back, we should be able to rearrange the porch again. Maybe I'll buy Sammie a new mat just to have completed the porch in one fell swoop.

Wedding thoughts
I told dd that 2 villagers had "children" getting married in a few hours. She said, "They grow up so fast."
