It seems to me we can never give up longing and wishing while we are thoroughly alive. There are certain things we feel to be beautiful and good, and we must hunger after them.

Wishing Wednesday
What do you wish for today? Is it as practical as a day without interruptions for Harriet, or a settled-in home (me!) or is it far more weighty?

Re: Wishing Wednesday
I have a temple board meeting tonight and I really haven't done any prep to follow up from the last meeting, which was only three weeks ago due to some Wednesdays being unavailable in June. So I need to get settled there. Otherwise I have the day here at home. Need to work toward getting back to routines.
Dh came home earlier than usual (usual is 6:30 or 7!) with a burst of energy and got to work moving boxes in the garage and bringing in boxes for me to unpack today. Ds also moved boxes and things upstairs for me. I made salads for me and dh about 7:45 and after eating we walked ddogs. We had a big, big storm start about 9 p.m. and it stormed hard (thunder, lightening, rain) for over two hours. Macs was very agitated, more so than normal and scratched up my arm trying to climb up me. He finally threw up close to 11; either the storm agitated him enough to throw up, or he wasn't feeling well to start with.
I'm going to change clothes and walk the ddogs before showering.

Re: Wishing Wednesday
I'm declaring today Conga Wednesday so I can achieve my wish of a clean house.
The wind turned around from the north at some point last night (probably around 3) and the house got cooled down with the wind coming in. Even as late as 8 it was still cold so I lay in bed far too long.
Dh and I were up at 3:30 for a pee break after disturbing dreams (me - that our house was robbed while we were away and dh worked all night long then woke up and discovered he had dreamed all that work and there was no progress.) I was still warm at that point so stayed on my side of the bed. Dh was cool (he's next to the window) so was awake until 5:30 when he said I fussed with my duvet (which is actually just the cover with a thin blanket in it) and then moved up against him, sliding under the edge of his full duvet to get warm. He said he fell asleep instantly at that point.
The house is shut up now because someone was laying tar somewhere and I didn't want the smell in the house.
I'm lazy today and it is 9:45 and I'm dressed in housework clothes but I still haven't had my breakfast.
Off I go!

Re: Wishing Wednesday
I'm up coffee is made, I've had time to pick up apples. Dgkids are both here the younger one
was fussy so 101 [animated] dalmatians movie has them quiet & they are getting along.
I hear a squirrel on the roof. On my walk yesterday saw twin deer fawns that's always fun!
We had t-storms in the night here it's cool out side stuffy indoors even with the windows open. I watered under the tree in the front where the rain does not get through the leaves.
We will have breakfast on the deck in a bit, I'll need to wipe the deck table off first it has a bit of rain water still on it. x = done
We went to the berry patch last night to check and see if they were ripe or not yet barely any ripe mostly green ones. It was in the shade so will be looking for ones not in such a shady spot.

Re: Wishing Wednesday
Don't think it ever 'cooled' here, Kathryn. Know at 11pm it was still 85 out and was 79 in the shade first thing this morning.
My wish for almost everybody today is for R A I N!! Know it's needed in more places than just here.
Think I'm in a 'funk' too, Harriet. Just can't seem to get that get up 'n go these Not sure if DDIL will be ready for an all-day event like that with new baby. But sure would like the chance to show him off.

Re: Wishing Wednesday
Good morning, villagers ~
I very much enjoyed cuop for the past couple of days -- except (((Harriet))) I'm sorry you had such a terrible, awful, no good, very bad day yesterday. So glad to see Indiana home again!
I'm still recovering from last week. Luckily Sunday I was able to catch up on some sleep, and then DH wanted to go see a movie so that was relaxing. (Men in Black 3 -- not great, but fun and entertaining enough for a hot summer day.) DH took Monday off work, and was just enough underfoot to throw off my routine. Finally got my car back late Monday.
Yesterday I just hid from the heat all day. 3 Ds was all I could manage. Actual temperature was 99F with very high humidity, and remember we don't have central air, so I spent a lot of time watching tv in front of a fan with a wet scarf around my neck. Also caught up on a bit of reading since I have a library book due back on Friday.
This morning I'm back in the swing of Monday's routine, catching up on Emails and dealing with sewing group business. The newsletter editor has pneumonia this time, and I have recruited someone else to help me because doing the last issue by myself was a bit of a pain. This new person says she has put together newsletters for other organizations so she has real publishing software. I have to spend the rest of today running tests with her through Email to see if she can read my files, and sending lots of other info her way. If this works out, she may do the job for the rest of the year.
Have already done a sink full of dishes. We seem to be missing several, apparently I need to go on a search & rescue mission into DH's man cave.
Last night's weather prediction was that it would be about 10 degrees cooler today, but this morning they rescinded that and said we'll still be in heat warning.
Not sure if I will leave the house at all. We have a couple of loads of laundry to do, and I still need to unpack some of the stuff I took to sewing retreat. Obviously there is plenty to keep me busy, it's just a matter of being sensible about balancing the work with the heat.
I've been back and forth on this post awhile. Have sent a few messages to the new newsletter person but no reply yet, so I don't know if she can read what I'm sending. I'm going to take a break until I hear back from her.
Actually, I've been working hard since 5:30 AM and I believe that means it's almost time to go take a nap!

Bedroom level of the house is done, plus the carpeted stairs down and the area rugs on the main level. Cleaned the bathroom and dusted and did mirrors for a change.
I'm taking a 15 minute break before starting in on the main floor. I'm in a full sweat.

Re: Wishing Wednesday
Bookie, I did have a nap after I walked the ddogs. I was awake a lot last night with achy hips. I really need to make an appt for a massage to work out some of these aches. I need to get rolling here today but again, It's hard to figure out what to do first because there's so much. I think I'm also in a slump - meds/HRT issues, and just plain overwhelmed. And I need a day "off" LOL.

Twins' Mom ~ WTG fitting in that quick nap!
I've been icing my knees and doing a series of "one more thing"s. Now I really am going to go upstairs and try to sleep awhile.
