WHY AM I STILL SITTING HERE GLUED TO THIS CHAIR????

LOL @ Kathryn's post:
On the downside, at least my mother's needed to be watched like a hawk and with me being so easily distracted, it never seemed like a good idea for me to have one. I suspect I get my ADD from Mom and I watched her clean off the ceiling of the kitchen one time too many to want a pressure cooker of my own.
I've never used a pressure cooker either. As a little girl, I used to watch dmom & my grandmothers use them sometimes, and they always seemed VERY concerned that they were going to blow up... so I've always been scared to death of them.
Of course, many people would say that I am scared to death of anything that happens in the vicinity of the stove.
Tomorrow is another day.

So much going on here, I can't respond to it all...

Have cleaned toilets and run the swiffer. Laundry and dishes are caught up. Devotion time and facebook time accomplished.

DD is headed home. Will surely miss her after our 10 days of fun--but I'm exhausted!

DS and DDIL are back from honeymoon trip and have a 12-hour drive today. Will be a relief to know that all are safely back where they belong!

Nice to come back here and find everyone plugging along as usual! Missing Elizabeth and bittersweet. Hello out there, if either of you check in!

Hi Okay - I thought I'd add my recommendation for a pressure cooker. My DH loves using his "Instant Pot" electric pressure cooker. He cooks cereals, rice, beans, vegetables all easily, in a short amount of time. He bought it online - Instant Pot . com , but also sold through A mazon. It is easy to clean too. It's priced at $119. today on A mazon. It's made by a Canadian company, so maybe Kathryn would be interested too.

Went to see Sheryl Crow in concert last night - fabulous music and great crowd at sold out show. We were up and singing and dancing most of the concert, it went past 11pm. I came home and was so "up" and wired that I couldn't go to sleep until after 1am, so I slept in this morning until 10, which I never do. I thought - this is Lucylee's hours! Ha, ha. I don't think I could keep up those hours long - I am definitely a morning person.

Off to the adventures of the day.

I had a mini electric pressure cooker. I loved it. It held 2 servings.

Finished my cleaning. Then I colored my hair and took a shower. About 15 minutes after I finished, dm called and they are at the hotel. And so it begins....... They are heading over here shortly.

Last night I detailed my kitchen and it looks great. Wish I could stay on top of it.

Better head upstairs..................

I wore them gardening and stained the knees. Washed them and left them for 2 weeks before going to iron them for this morning. Noticed the knees had speckles so not all the dirt had come out when I washed them. Put laundry stain soap on them. Nothing. Sprayed with bleach and water. Nothing. So I poured bleach directly on them (they were light ivory.) Added more water to the material and left it to work while at choir. When I got back I rinsed them and the stains were gone. Ran them through the washer and when I went to hang them up, you can see two distinct colours. My laundry room tub is in shadow so I hadn't noticed when I tossed them in the washer.

I'm hoping by bleaching the whole thing (I was just working on the knees earlier) that it will end up a uniform colour. The bleached colour is fine too, just a different shade of ivory.

It may not work for a number of reasons, the first being that they are only soaking in a 1:8 concentration of bleach right now. But I'm giving them time. Again, my laundry room is shadowy so I'm not sure if I'll be able to tell if this has worked without actually washing them.

They were $5.99 at the thrift store and I got 16 months out of them. Theoretically, they will only fit for a few more months anyway (there's positive thinking for you!) because they don't have belt loops and I've been losing weight.

(((Lilac))) Good luck!
There was an Upper Room devotional reading on this exact subject -- visit from difficult relative -- just this past week, and I tried to find it and post a link to it, but I'm having trouble with that website. It was Thursday's reading, I think. It basically said that if we look for bad things, we find bad things, but if we look for good things, we find good things. * NO ONE NEEDS TO HEAR THAT MORE THAN I DO!!! * But the writer said, yes, the difficult relative came, and yes, there were difficult moments, but when she (the writer) looked for the good qualities in this relative, and she had to admit there were some, then she was also able to enjoy those qualities and enjoy at least parts of the visit.
Praying for you in the next few days, b/c as I said, I can sooo relate to this!

I believe I can face the shower now.
Tomorrow is another day.

Kathryn, I had the same thing happen to an ivory colored H arley D avidson shirt. I ended up hanging it outside and the sun faded it and it looks fine. The shirt was too expensive to give up on it.
