Thank you for the information on electric pressure cookers (EPC). I just love reaping the rewards of products reviews from people I trust. After hearing how you use EPC and the ability to walk away without it exploding I decided to make the switch from my trusty (but must-be-watched-at-all-times) stove top pressure ccoker to EPC. When I saw the stainless steel interior of the Instant Pot, I was instantly sold. I'm looking forward to receiving it and putting it to work several times a week.

The person that was suppose to make LO's birthday cake changed her mind and declined. So now I'm scrambling to find someone else. I have received several suggestions how to make one myself and I will do that if there are no other options. However, my time schedule is fairly full and I'm not mentally up to being creative in this endeavor so I really hope to find someone who does cake creations/decorations. FB to the rescue!

OKay, I love the product reviews (and movie/book reviews) here too. It really helps that we know each other so well that specific features can be highlighted or warned about depending on who we are offering the advice to.

I'm up. Dh came to bed at 12:30. I didn't hear him until I heard his fingers tapping off the touch-lamp by the bed. Which means I am no contest for a burglar! He woke up at 6 (my alarm was set for 6:20) and I head out of here in 4 minutes to meet him at the car rental agency. I keep focusing on the $50 this is going to save us.

My goodness I'm cheap but it can go towards the car rental in August when I've volunteered dh to pick up our church musician from her family camping trip and we'll need two cars that day.)

The choir director heard me saying I'd rent a car to go get her and said that the General Council wasn't supposed to cost us money. I pointed out that daily parking during General Council plus 3 extra trips into the city each week leading up to it will cost us plenty but we aren't hurting for money so it doesn't matter - we are a single car family by choice, not necessity.

Finding the talk about EPC quite interesting. Wondering if that's something I would really use (frequently) in our RV. Ease is of upmost importance here.

Oh here's dh. Have to remind him to 'dump' our tanks. He'll be using the 'little' room a lot today in preparation for tomorrow.

Be back after church, taking a pool cleaner to DS-A/DDIL, and going to L owe's. Then it's home for dh to start prepping. Kaviat to this morning is we get to see dgbaby for a bit. Have to run and get ready to go. Later>>>>>>>>>>>>

Ddogs let me sleep in until almost 7:30 this morning - thanks to another round of TS last night and a little Acepromazine in Macs. I've had a leisurely time of reading the paper and dh and I took them out around the circle a couple of times. Dh had also gone to Bojangles by the time I got up for biscuits!

We're planning some shopping today and I need to write for the temple bulletin (again.) I have the theme but I'm thinking it will be tricky to write as we're soliciting opinions regarding renewal of the rabbi's contract.

I'm also enjoying the EPC - and I also grew up with a worried mom everytime she used the pressure cooker. Sometimes when canning would send up outside, LOL.

OKay, you got some good ideas for the cake - I hope you can work at least one of them out.

Re: Pressure cookers after blowing up two of 'em I decided that it was not my gift for every one's safety got rid of 'em and went to other methods of cooking!

I have baked cookies from a cake mix for my extraordinary deed today is that I did not buy them for a church pot luck, they are ready for transporting to the potluck at church for lunch.
Cocoa coffee is great today.

The movie "Rock of Ages" is skippable. Giving it a thumbs down to crude for us. The music was good and why I want but if you want to hear it stick with the audio. However But if all the movies are good you don't have anything to compare 'em to. Its not for kids movie should have gotten a stronger rating in my opinion. Some humorous jabs at various singers I did laugh at. [We said we would not tell people we had seen it.] Embarrassed and feel like I need to repent after wards! Glad we went to the theater after the Colorado troubles I'm not being afraid I did think about where I wanted to sit however. After that I now understand even more why Tom C.'s wife left him!

I'm back from my walk and it was nice and cool out side have had had my breakfast.
I still need to pick up the apples in the back yard.
We have sun in our forecast all week. One near triple digit day mid-late week.
s2s has happened I need to change and get ready for church in a bit.

Had a nice IMing time w/ dson before bed telling each other about our day and project progress. He is grouting the tiling around their tub. It's looking great!

Decided we need a list when going to the habit for humanity store we need some gutter extensions; the neighbor took hers down and replaced them still has the old ones there I will ask if she has any first. H. got the spouts cleaned out and reattached last night while it was cooler and in the shade good thinking on his part for the timing of that.

Back from church (and before that, dropping off the rental car.) The service went well. On the drive back from the rental place, I had dh drive so I could go over the service and was reading aloud passages that were tongue twister-like. He offered a lot of great input so my copy was well marked up. I didn't stumble over any of those passages but I did in other places. Dh told me that the bits he heard of my sermons were way better than the one he heard this morning. I'm listening to my friend's church service now online and his sermon is very good but very different than mine. Probably deeper than mine. That's ok, sometimes I'm deeper than him (which tells me I'm getting better at this craft.)

I really love that church so hope I get invited back. They had severe conflict a few years ago so are still struggling to see themselves as a church family. I hear that in conversation but don't witness it in their actions so I wonder if they see themselves differently than they actually are. I, of course, see all the blessings they have and was sure to point out as many as I could work into conversations.

Good morning, villagers ~

Harriet's family spash party sounded like so much fun (except for mosquitoes ) and very well planned. Also smiling at DDad's offer to pay friend to leave.

Friday and yesterday involved a lot of meetings and errands.

Splurged on a 2nd set of queen size sheets at Sam's for $50. I bought the 1st set a couple of weeks ago and decided the higher thread count felt so smooth and cool, it's worth it to have another nice set. Somehow I never seem to manage the logistics of taking the sheets off the bed, washing & drying, and putting them back on the bed all in the same day.

Also got lucky at my favorite clothing store. They rarely put socks and undies on sale; yesterday they were 50% off so I stocked up. Then I checked the clearance rack and found lightweight black slacks and a colorful summer skirt. We are obviously going to continue having a hot summer, so I'll get plenty of wear out of these.

I was going to stop at the used book store, but decided to wait until after the library's book sale in a couple of weeks. It doesn't make sense to spend $3-4 on a book when I have a good chance of finding it at the library sale for a quarter.

I had a coupon for Dollar General $5 off $25 so tried them to compare to WalMart. Couldn't find everything I wanted so I'll still need to go to WM sometime next week, but I enjoyed being able to park close and no big crowd inside. The prices were ok because I had the coupon, but without a coupon WM is less expensive. It's good to have options.

I was glad to have my own car back to run errands, and also glad that temps were down in the 80s for a couple of days. Today we'll be back to upper 90s for another hot stretch. We've had a lot of cloud cover, but no rain. There's been a flyer in the post office for a week asking everyone to conserve water, which so far they are defining as "don't water the lawn every day."

This morning I'm moving slowly, but have the 3rd load of laundry in the dryer and 4th in the washer. (As always, appreciating the mod con of washer/dryer and FlipFold.)

Dishes have been soaking and I'll do them as soon as I get off the pc.

Then s2s and the rest of the day's chores will be putting things away, and putting things back where they belong, and putting more things in their proper places.

My little sorting table in the kitchen has become a stacking table and that bugs me. Must get back in the habit of clearing it off each day.

Wasn't planning to post today, but have to say that I love D ollar G eneral. Have bought rugs, curtains, decorative pillows, and snack food there. I had the same coupon as Booksaver for Saturday, but forgot about it. Oh well, they will have that coupon again in a month or so...

OKay I like the theme for today.

After two cool days we are climbing to reach 100 tomorrow. So this is a day I don't leave my apartment because the humidity is building. I have plenty to do here.

I found out yesterday that one of our chefs came every night after dinner service to see me and I was sleeping each time. He would check with the nurse and leave. He has done this each time I've been in the hospital. He is special.
