More progress here but the table still isn't clear.
The dishes are done up, the outside plants watered again (this time using the dishpan water)
We are on water conservation restrictions, although how I'm to cut 20% of my water usage when I don't use that much to begin with is a question I have. I don't use a sprinkler and am only watering my tomato plants using two watering can fulls each day. Everything else is left to God's will as that is my normal attitude to my garden and it works well since everything is in bloom. Local wildflowers/weeds, babied into beautiful garden plants under my care, seem to be very drought resistant. So far, only one of my wildflower plants has failed and only in a few locations all with the same suspiciously rabbit height damage. The car could use a wash, but I can wait. Might even pay to have it done when we get to Concord so that dh isn't arriving in a pretty disgustingly dirty car. Alternatively, I can bucket wash it, since that's what we do in the winter anyway.
It is only the well users who are on restrictions, apparently the drought is not threatening the city water supply at all. But I don't understand why I need to be concerned. My well is 150' deep and any water I 'waste' just ends up back in the same aquifer since it comes out of the well in the front of my house and returns through the septic system in the back.
My break-timer just went off so it is back to searching for the kitchen table. My goal is to get it cleared off tonight, wiped down, and the kitchen floor swept as well. Done! (That's what happens when you set really easy goals!)

Re: Shazam Sunday
I may end up seeing the embarrassing movies after all.
But nothing tonight. Right now, I am back home, dh is disgusted w/the world, and I am doing laundry.
I don't know if I should even get into all this or not... maybe dh will get over this little disappointment... maybe everything will work out in the end okay, anyway... DH has just had so many plans that didn't work out the way he wanted them to this summer and he is aggravated again about something coming up that is not likely to work out the way he wants it to.
I mean... when you're 60 years old... where is the line between disappointment and just selfishness or being unrealistic?
I don't know... but he's kinda mad at the world tonight.
Don't get me wrong -- in a way, I feel sorry for him, but in another way, I just want to kick him in the rear.
He also feels terrible tonight -- has taken a bunch of allergy med & tylenol -- so maybe when he feels better, he can get a better perspective on everything... but I sorta feel like he just wants to have his cake and eat it too, you know.

Re: Shazam Sunday
Okay, I have no doubt that you and dgs15 will come up with a fantastic cake but more important is the memories, love and caring that that young man will always treasure.
Well Harriet, HRH has done it again. That is amazing how he worked that situation with his dstepdad. I still wish we could clone him!
Dd2, her dh, the 2 little ones, dgd16 and her bf were about 20 minutes late. Usually in that situation she has an attitude but she didn't tonight. I had ordered 4 large pizzas and a family size order of breadsticks with cheese. We came home with 3 pieces. When dsonilaw friend didn't come and the boys couldn't be there, I decided on 4 pizzas instead of 5 and it was a good call. The cake was really pretty and delicious. We had a great evening. Dgd15 was her usual loud, obnoxious self. There is just no shutting that kid up. Her dm has never acted like that. Dh has a cousin who acted just like that. Dh just cringes when she gets started.
Tonight I asked dgd2 is she was excited about starting daycare and she said no. Later she was downstairs in the playroom playing with my old metal dollhouse and she had asked dd1 to go down with her. She told dd1 that she was really excited about daycare but that she had told grandma she wasn't. The things she comes up with! With dd2 starting to work on her studio tomorrow on a full time basis and the girls in daycare, my normal will be changing. As it works out, I am glad that I have the distraction of company, these first few days.
Well I better head to bed. Dd1 and I will walk at 6:30 and then I need to shower and see what the day brings.
