Triumphant Tuesday
Shoot for at least one triumph in your day today!
Mine is that I'm off to a good start - no workout but I'm almost all packed for my trip (having started at 6:40 this morning.) I'm making my lunch now and will head off to volunteering on time, will do a couple of quick errands on the way home and then we'll load up the car and head off.
The earlier I leave from here, the earlier we'll get to Concord, NH.
Oh, another triumph - my weight is down a little bit more!

Re: Triumphant Tuesday
Hoping that today's triumph is that I can help DH get done with his job today..so I don't have to go out tomorrow too.
Not-so-dear-helper couldn't come yesterday and I went to job with him and worked all day. We are painting the inside of a whole house and have promised these people to get it done so their relatives can move in. I am doing the cutting-in and I can't keep up with DH who is marching around with the roller and the pole.
Hard to keep up. Yesterday I got bills out before we left and 1 LOL twirling. And when we came home I hung up the laundry, made dinner, cleaned up the kitchen, made today's lunch. I don't know how people who work keep up anything at home!
I will cuop when I can. Hello to everybody!

Re: Triumphant Tuesday
Good for you, Kathryn!
My weight OTH is about as high as it's been in years.
I'm beginning to physically feel it now and I have to do SOMETHING starting TODAY!
Have to leave in about 20 minutes to take dh to his pulmonary dr. Then have to swing about 20 miles northwest to drop off a paper from the disability insurance co. Somehow dh only received 2 checks (for 15 days total) and the last was marked "final". Now to see if we can get his dr. to extend it because his dboss won't let him come back to work yet.
Lots of thunder last night but still no rain here yet. Although dfriend did say it rained hard here for about 2 minutes yesterday while we were at the hospital. DH's colonoscopy came back better than 3 years ago so dr. has extended his time to 5 years for that. Told him he wants him back in 2 for the endoscopy however as that has quite a bit of change. (Unless he has increasing symptoms before then).
Think pulmonary dr. will be pleased with how much the s piriva is helping dh.
Think dh, dd and dgs 7 are going to Fort Niagara tomorrow and to the Lockport, NY "locks" and underground boat ride and caves. It involves a lot of stairs so dd didn't think I was probably a good candidate for this trip. I get to spend a day home alone. That will be okay. We're planning to go away Thursday and Friday for our Anniversary -but not absolutely sure what we'll do yet. Had planned to 'bop' around southwestern NY in Amish country, but the forecast is for rain (badly needed so won't complain). Not sure I want to be driving 2 days on wet roads. Will keep an eye on the forecast and we'll play it by ear.
Today is gd's 14th birthday. Oh how I pray that 14 will make the difference in her -for good that is
Have a good trip, Kathryn. How long a trip is it to Concord? Envisioning here.
DHarmony, I don't know how you do it! Bless you and may you find several triumphs today.
Big triumph today was that I noticed that DS-A evidently put $1,000 in our bank account yesterday. ($$ he owes us) So that's a triumphant start for him (and for us).

Re: Triumphant Tuesday
Harmony, may I offer you and dh an all expense paid trip here to repaint our old house? LOL! Things haven't been going well with getting that underway.
The temp today will be in the mid nineties today so I've already walked the dogs a mile this morning. Last night, when the temp was still close to 90, Macs was worn out after two laps, about 2/3 mile, so we came in.
I would have started today as "Routine" Tuesday so I could get back to my routines, but OTOH a nice triumph to the day sounds good too. Last night dh assembled our two bar stools so I'm able to sit at our kitchen bar height counter to use the computer now so that contributes to my feeling of a more routine life.
At my dr appt yesterday my weight wasn't as high as I was afraid it might be. Of course, all scales are different and I haven't weighted at either house for awhile. I know the walking has got to be helping my overall health, whether my weight reflects it or not.
Dee, IWYM about having time alone at home - ds and dh left about seven this morning for work and the house is quiet.

Re: Triumphant Tuesday
Woke to the smell of skunk this morning - but that is what you get if you live in the woods.
It went away pretty quickly.
DD is working today and her DH is home. He is making spaghetti sauce from fresh tomatoes from their garden. DH is at their house having a bonding moment - I'm vegging out in the MH letting them be.
Tomorrow and Thursday we are on puppy baby sitting as both of them work. They have arranged their days off so that they only need help on 2 days per week. And DD's DH can come home for lunch those two days for puppy duty. (Really puppy's mama duty as she needs to be let out and fed at noon.)
Need to get some breakfast going and pick up some footprints. Then will take sheets over to DD's house to wash.

Re: Triumphant Tuesday
Good morning, villagers ~
Emptynester ~ Glad the skunk was out in the woods and had not sprayed your RV!
I had to check back at yesterday's posted 5x7 to see what I was supposed to have been doing. Today's triumph is starting with yesterday's list checked off.
As soon as I got up this morning, I started working on revising the articles I wrote yesterday for sewing newsletter. Sent those to the helper awhile ago along with questions to other people, now I'm in holding pattern until I receive responses.
Today's goals must be short &/or slow because of the heat.
* drink lots of water
* change sheets
* 10-15 minutes declutter clothes
* pantry & freezer inventory
* study instructions & patterns for making dress gloves
* choose 3-5 books to donate to library book sale
* proofread newsletter if it comes
* lunch at air-conditioned truck stop
* I've been craving pancakes & bacon but it's much too hot to do that much standing over the stove. We had cold turkey sandwiches for supper last night. Tonight's supper I think maybe scrambled eggs, salsa & cheese wrapped in tortilla?

Re: Triumphant Tuesday
I am feeling triumphant today after surviving another showing. They did come I would have been okay if the were no shows b/c just getting the mojo to get the stuff cleaned up was good! We had not had a showing since May. Got the old chair frame in the trash, and patio expansion framed up and ready for gravel yea for progress! Mowing is done. House looks great it was cool and I did pet & plant chores. Oh happy day!

Our weather was wild this morning with 80 mph winds. A little rain but no thunder or lightening.

Re: Triumphant Tuesday
I am not feeling particularly triumphant today. I need to get moving on the job search front, but I would rather be back on vacation. I am still jet lagged and working on laundry from trip. Last night a globe fell from the light fixture in the guest bathroom. I could not figure out what had broken until this morning. DD is with me yesterday night and tonight. The hard drive with her movies is not working. XDH is looking at it to see what is wrong.
My trip was fantastic, as expected. It is easy to get used to people cleaning up for you, cooking nice meals for you, and entertaining you. I want to live on vacation.

Re: Triumphant Tuesday
Coming back to reality stinks, sometimes, doesn't it Elizabeth. ((Hugs))
I've been puttering - dh will wonder what I've done but I've emptied a couple of boxes and squeezed some more stuff into the laundry room and various other places. Also have moved some stuff to bottom of stairs for dh and ds to take upstairs tonight. I shudder to go up there....
I am going to start a lol - the sheets off the guest bedroom bed that is now dd's. She will be home in a couple of weeks, I think. I'm going to do a short nap, then put together a pasta recipe for supper. Late this afternoon, I'm supposed to go to old house to meet a guy who is buying our old washer/dryer.
