Re: Triumphant Tuesday
Quiet day in the village! I napped, rebooted the laundry, got the mail and have started water for boiling the corn. This pasta dish has corn, cherry tomatoes, pesto and more basil and I'm adding prosciutto.

Bug lady has come & gone...
Talked to dmom & ddad on phone...
Talked to ds on phone -- made plans to babysit tonight!
Talked to lady @ the bank on phone...
STILL looking for $101.89 error in checkbook. And of course, it is in the bank's favor...

Re: Triumphant Tuesday
DH had a good Dr. visit this morning. Dr. is great about finding the 'cheapest' way to treat a problem. For now dh will be staying on the S piriva as that has visibly made a difference in how he feels/acts. I can't remember when the last time I said, "How come you're so out of breath"? His numbers were better today than last time. When he asked him to take a deep breath/blow it out fast, there was still audible wheeIng.
Nicest thing -another triumph- was that dd said they were discussing dh around the campfire last night and dfriend of dd's (we've adopted her as our daughter too) and she's the camp manager now, mentioned how DH seems to be the "Old T ". I know they all had concerns about his memory and all that seems so much better with better oxygen. I had a feeling that was the topic addressed with dh's doctor a few weeks back (by ds or dd) simply by little things they'd said. Some things that dd mentioned today I told her are typical 'older' happenings. (Where did I put my glasses? type of things).
DD and I went shopping about 25 miles away at W M and A ldis. DH and I still have leftovers from lunch yesterday so will have that for dinner. Had peppers and cheese sandwiches for lunch.
Now I'm just chillin' for a few with my feet up. My ankle has been swelling the last 3 or 4 days. Checked my BP when in the store today just to see -and it was pretty good (for me). 143/62. A few pounds will probably help bring that upper number down.
DH and I stopped by the gym on the way home and I walked a little over a mile. Wish all gyms had a walking track like this one. We belong to S ilver Sneakers so we go 'free'. Will try to get dh to the gym in FL because they have a beautiful new pool. Think that would be almost better for him than the walk around the 3 mile lake. I hate spending the money for the gas but walking there is better for me than here. I feel a whole lot better physically & mentally after doing that walk. Need to MAKE myself do it nearly every day at least.

Re: Triumphant Tuesday
The pasta salad is good, but not out-of-this-world good. Still, it's a change for me to cook and will be nice to have for lunches. I think it needs additional herbs, and it would be improved by adding the hot pasta to the other flavors, I think. (Whoops, I realized I was out of olive oil so used regular salad oil - that would have improved the flavor also.)
DD called from camp - she thinks she will be done on Friday Aug 3 which is the end of next week already. I'm not sure when she can move in to her dorm but her classes start Aug 22. Need to check on ds' schedule, too.
Set up appt with a guy tomorrow a.m. to look painting and the work we need done at the old house. I'm meeting the guy who is buying the old washer and dryer around six p.m. this afternoon at the old house.
Dee, glad the meds are helping dh. Ds had asthma and used a maintenance med for several years when he was little; we had a whole routine built around remembering it. It made a huge difference for him.

Re: Triumphant Tuesday
Found the error...
* sigh * DH is sorta discouraged about the rate of our spending lately, anyway, with all the stuff lately... fan for central ac unit... new computer... tickets to Braves games that we didn't even use... and now I've gone and lost $110 b/c of errors in subtraction.
That sorta took the wind out of my sails... but I'm going to try to keep up my good deeds from yesterday and finish vacuuming the floors now.
Glad to say "welcome home, Elizabeth!" IKWYM about coming back to the "real world," though... oh my, I hate to see my summer come to an end.
And yes, Cowinkie, I can see you smiling b/c your summer is NOT coming to an end!!!
Spacing on computer is doing funny now. I type about four words and it starts a new line. BUT then, as I continue typing, it moves those words up to the previous line and it all looks normal again. Very strange.
Soooo glad Mr. Dee is feeling better!
WTG on the pasta dish, Twins! It sounds delicious!
I want to go check out that Google Doodle -- thanks for the heads up, Indiana!
I may try to take dgs out for a walk late this evening if ds/ddil don't think it's too hot for him. I still have our old stroller. I also want to try to take some pictures of dgs on quilt my dgm made -- the one with the little farmer boy in overalls. Wish I had dgs in some overalls for the picture, but that will come later.
Waving to everyone!!! Please forgive my lack of personal replies -- I am thinking of you ALL!!!

Re: Triumphant Tuesday
Quick post from dinner.
It took forever to get out of New York State. Over 3.5 hours after leaving home, we were finally in Vermont. We'll be in NH in a few minutes, I suspect but then it is at least 2.5 hours to the hotel, and only if I take the speed limits as vague suggestions.
We got off 30 minutes late and lost 45 due to construction in NY state. Which is still amazingly pretty but just HUGE!

Waving Hello...Good Bye...
Packed and ready to go. Got 9 days worth of clothing in a 22" carry-on. Finishing up last little things and then will go to bed. Need to be at the airport by 6:30 in the morning, which means I need to leave the house by 6.
Picking up loose footprints and will take a shower tonight instead of tomorrow morning. Ready as I'll ever be. Everything is laid out for the morning. Want everything in place so I can get to bed by 9.
Elizabeth...jet lag doesn't seem to bother me until I come home...then it takes me a few days to adjust. Glad you had a great time. Excuse me for not saying hi to everyone. I'll be back on Aug. 3rd. I will only have my cell phone, but I'll still try to check in when I can.
Forgot to add that Sweetie took me to dinner...I requested that as I didn't want to do dinner cleanup. Besides I had errands to run as well as packing and didn't want to over do it ...... Cy'all Nitters
