Our internet was out (so inside the house was working but from the house to the world wasn't.) Dh had to call in but it has been up and down and by the time he was off hold it was up again. The tech said that power fluctuations could mess it up. He wasn't listening. The power can be out here and our internet is still up because it is on a battery backup power supply (until the generator kicks in.) That also smooths out all brown outs. And we hear all brown outs since all our UPS's squeal and/or click when the power level drops. (We have 4 UPS systems in the house for the internet and office equipment and everything else is on protected power bars that smooth the power.)

Anyway, it seems to be back on for a bit.

I've had my lunch. Might count that as doing something and go lie down for a bit.

Doing medical stuff today for the week and tomorrow. Put up all the meds/vitamins for the week. Printed off and filled out paper work for Ortho visit for tomorrow. Next up is to print of maps to get there.

Went back to bed after my shower and slept for 2 hours. Feel much better now.

Just getting here. I have to get here early and then keep peeking in -otherwise I'm overwhelmed with cuop!

I was slow this morning then dh wanted me to go with him to Cam ping W orld -our account there is in my name -he thought, so did I. Gal there told me our "club" account runs out in 2 months. Somehow that didn't sound right. Called the company & they gave me a date of 1/2013. That's a "little" better. Still not sure that's right. We bought a 2-year membership not terribly long before we got our new RV at which time they gave us a complimentary year. Still think they're running them concurrently.

DD is here working on her computer to download games, etc to gd14's new Ipod touch. Took her nearly 2 hours to get things figured out so she could register gd's birthday gift. It's a refurbished one, so not new, but new to her. She had to give gd's email but didn't have her password and gd is away at camp.

Trying to decide if we're going to pot-luck tonight. I'm really tired of it. It's almost always too carb-laden. Last week there were 2 jello salads, 2 fruit salads, a dish of baked beans. Dneighbor said by the time she got there all the beans were gone. There might have been a couple of other things including mostly desserts. (which I try not to eat). We didn't go because dh had just had his colonoscopy that noon. I may try it one more time but if it's still not 'real good' we may decide to only go once a month or so.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Pot lucks are a killer when trying to eat healthy. I think church eating in general is the biggest challenge I have, bigger than eating on the road (at least when on the road I usually get more movement in so can justify higher calories.)

I sat outside and rested a little and caught up, finally, on my devotions. The reading guide keeps dumping me back into 1 & 2 Samuel and I have little patience for God or David in all this so my reflections are very opinionated.

I think I might do 15 minutes of heavier housework upstairs and then lay down for 30.

Kathryn, I understand what you're saying totally... and you are right -- usually, those kind of dilemmas aren't played out sooo publicly and so dramatically. Of course, that's what makes movies & books more entertaining than real life, too. Also, I seem to remember that the situation was handled slightly differently in the novel, and to my way of thinking, it was a little more "understandable" in the novel. I had forgotten about the mother throwing Hilly off the property, too! That makes me feel better about her!

Oh well. Probably should get busy with something.

I think I commented before on how this is an ADD homemaker's dream job. I can unpack and put stuff away and rearrange in almost any room. I've been working in our closet and MBR and bath. I can't quite figure out why dh is resistant to having the closet "done" because we're sure not able to get what we own into this closet. Our old one was about the same size but had more shelves versus hanging area. I've purged some clothes that are too small and out of style. DH still have a ton of clothes packed in travel bags. I can't figure out where he thinks they are going to go.

Earlier I was about to hang a small "calendar" plate that was my father's that is dated 1913, and I came to the computer to see if I could find anything similar on Ebay and ended up getting a replacement for the saucer that I found that was broken the other day. The plate to hang is still sitting here by my computer.

Back to work.

Back from a trip to place we obtain unique MPB repair parts. Not only did we bring home a dozen custom made high pressure hoses, but we also brought home a new lawn mower. :D Our main mower is continually messing up and we don't have the time or inclination to continually haul it to repair shop and wait months to get it back. If it was just mowing at home, I would handle that with our other mowers. However, the mowing requirements at MPB is too much without something big and fast. Now we can cut 5' at a time and the speed is only limited by how much courage the driver has.

***Taking a Very Big Deep breathe**** DH and I have reversed our decision on LO schooling. We are enrolling him in public school. I have 2 weeks to get him acquainted with the school building/grounds. We will start by playing on the outdoor equipment and visiting the school library (open 2 days a week all summer)

Next up -
** MPB daily financial cards
** gather items for LO swim lessons
** put potatoes in EPC for supper

Twins, do you put all your folded clothes in the closet on shelves or do you have drawers somewhere too? If they're all in your closet you need lots of shelves!

Speaking of clothes, I've noticed mine are getting pretty worn. I've been having difficulties finding nice tops to wear to church. I'm down to just a few and I wear them over and over. Most of the others are now around-town/around-the-house ones. I need to go shopping.

I've completely fizzled out. I just want to sleep. Why can't I get over this?

Been doing paperwork. Trying to catch up on stuff I neglected while the 2 households of kids were here. My mileage log is a mess and I can't remember all the stuff I did to put down the mileage. I usually fill it out every day. Need to get into that habit again quick!

Did a proposal for DH and another paper. The DGKs were all amused at my typewriter in our office. 2nd set of kids insisted on using it and they typed out the funniest things. Acted like it was a Model-T or something! It is electronic, after all!

OKay, will LO have to take that long long bus ride every day?

OKay I hate to raise this thought but will the school be able to ensure your custody arrangement? I've grown very, very, fond of LO and am convinced he is where he needs to be. I trust you fully in the quality of education you'll impart to him and have had only very positive experiences with the public school system (even to the point of them knowing they couldn't give ds the help he needed so we put him in private school for a few years.) But I wanted to make sure you had considered this non-education part of the decision.

I got the upstairs weekly cleaning done and then napped for 45 minutes. I feel even worse than before, if at all possible. Of course, my next pill was due at 4 but I was pushing it back to 5 so I could make the bedtime pill work logically. I'm sure I'll take over the daily limit today but I feel like I have to try and get this under control.

I've started cooking the dinner for tonight (a party chicken recipe.) It involved cutting onions, something I can't do without extreme pain. I tried the tip from The Help (hold a match in your mouth) and it made a world of difference. There's an example of an old wive's tale working.
