Trying to help dd13 with her school shopping today - nothing fits. If it's in her closet, it's verging on too small, except for things purchased very recently. She has now officially reached my height and is obviously not stopping. She is in a size 8 shoe, with 7.5 genuinely too short. (I wear 7.5) We both got out hair trimmed today and she got what I would call a "Jennifer Anniston" with the front just long enough to tuck under the chin, back long. We found one pair of jeans, one top and one crochet vest. At this rate, we aren't managing her wardrobe needs very well. Also, new bras are in order. Lots to do.

I did also get my order of shoes for HRH and myself delivered today. Everyday black shoes for "everything" life requirements - mine Sketchers, his NewBalance.

We also hit Subway. Brought a meal home for HRH. He had taken a chance, which worked out fine, and mowed the lawn some while we were gone. He was just very convinced my ddad was sound asleep in bed. Still, chancy. I know it's frustrating because both of us are in "how will all this ever get done?" mentality.

Harriet: any chance of a photo of you and dd? I can't believe that little girl is growing up so much.

Dinner is done. We watched the last two episodes of Mad Men on Netflix (season 4). Now we wait!

I managed to fill the sink with hot, soapy, water before getting too tired to finish the task but at least things will soak while waiting for dh to wash them. I did wash up my 1 liter water bottle well and fill it with my next liter. Not sure how much I'll get down this evening. It hurts to swallow now which, believe it or not, is a wonderful symptom (it is my first symptom of mono, aside from malaise, which beats hepatitis in my books for a diagnosis!)

It is still raining here. My guess is we'll end the day with an inch of rain. We were at a half inch when I checked at 3 in the afternoon.

I read the few days since I posted last and had lots of answers ready. That was hours ago; kept interrupting myself with other things. Now it's all gone, I just can't keep my mind focused today. :(

I was happy to read that Indiana is doing better; hoping she will be out of ICU soon.

I can understand "overpeopled". Harmony, I never thought you were as shy as me! I hope you are feeling more relaxed now.

MT...hope your knees feel better
Kathryn...I hope you find out soon what's going on with you.
Lucy...hoping your allergies settle down soon so you can enjoy dgs even more! I just saw on FB that today is my ddil#2 last day of summer vacation also. She goes back to work Monday. Not sure when dgkids go back; I think it's Wed or Thurs. Ddil is almost finished with her fourth class of schooling completed this summer. The last class wasn't supposed to start for two weeks yet!
Twins...sorry for the family drama.

We had to make a trip out to W-M on Wed. am to fetch dh's cane that he left in a cart on Tues. He felt bad about losing it because it had been the one ds#3 used when he broke his ankle last year. (Dh had traded 'cause ds's was nicer). I'm glad I had put an address sticker on it for our plane ride.

Yesterday ds#2 came on his way home from work to cut our front yard. Dh decided he wanted to try doing it before ds got here, so he started it. He got most of it done then I went out and finished for him. Dh feels sometimes like he is not able to keep up and do things that he used to take for granted and he gets feeling down because he feels useless.

Today I spent most of the afternoon trying to balance my checkbook. I had been out $51+ for over a month and couldn't find it. Finally today I found $50. I had copied a balance to next page wrong. After all was added & subtracted again i'm still off by 3c. So I wrote a "to balance w/bank". But it still bugs me and at some point I will go back and re-add to see if I can find it.

Last week I signed up with "myfitnesspal.com" . Ds#3 uses this to track food and exercise, so I thought it would help me, too. So far I've lost almost 6 lbs. so I think it will work to keep me accountable and on track.

This has taken me too long to finish. Hello to all and good thoughts to all who are having a rough time now.

Sunny, BWTG losing weight.

Yes I am shy. I just act like I'm not. I think I should do these things I do, and I am constantly doing stuff that scares the pants off of me. Sometimes it just gets to me. I am most happy just being at home.

..Sigh...that is just sad really. I have anxiety over the dumbest stuff. Like the telephone. It makes my heart pump to hear it ring. DH tells me he's always happy when the phone rings, maybe it's his next job. Me, I think, now what?

I don't have much to report. Only slept 5 hours last night, and paid for that today. I napped at least 4 hours during a couple naps today and was aware during those that I slept very soundly. I wish I could drag myself out of this malaise.

I did do a big cleanup in the kitchen. Things that weren't getting washed up are done, some shifting around of stuff in the cabinets, containers for DH's ice filled and in the freezer, stuff like that. It does look a lot better now. Just loading/unloading the dishwasher isn't all our kitchen needs daily.

I'm glad tomorrow is Sat. That takes a bit of the pressure off. Although, we have a group dinner to attend tomorrow eve. Church is starting a 50+ group with a different (new) pastor who we really really like, so we're attending. I must get stuff for a tuna casserole to take along. We'll get a sermon tomorrow eve. too, so I probably won't go to church Sun morning. I like this schedule!

Thinking about you all.... Kathryn, is there a specific test for Mono? That crossed my mind the other day when I thought about you.

K in C the flu bug was kicking butt around here in June I think it was making the rounds.

Re: Allergies I am worse this time of year I think corn tasseling out asters and mums in bloom bother me, and wheat dust from harvest, there is smoke to contend with as well.

Granny duty over night for dgd #3 she's been gone so having fun with the new to her things we have here diff. movie, side walk chalk. She dropped a soda jug on a yogurt made a mess at the store so we told the guy with the cleaner and he got right to it.

Time for my pm meds.

Fell asleep at 8pm and just woke up at midnight. Feels like it's time for coffee! Hope I can get 4 more hours sleep, so I'm not walking around in a fog for Saturday. Have a trunk load of recycling to turn in tomorrow--that's always a thrill. It's the little things that matter, right? :)

Goodnight, all.
