Hello Bernice, I'm glad to see you here. Did your DMom post with us?

Harriet, about the Vit D, you seem to know more than the dr. did about what it really is. I did ask him if sitting in the sun, palms up, would help heal, and he said yes, and if the meds don't clear this up I can use his machine. He had a sort of box with bulbs in the top, and 2 round holes into which one puts their hands...same concept I guess.

Sadie, I'm really happy for you that they recognized your good work and you got a nice raise to boot! BWTG!

Happy Birthday to Harriets DD14! Where does the time go?

(OKay) the angst of quiet house brings back memories. You will get used to it, but it is hard. It is progress after all, and we can't keep them young forever.

I have a slight headache. Kathryn, I never put heat on mine, cold cloths work best for me. Different causes I guess. Mine is probably from all the strange meds I have circulating in me right now.

My hip still hurts, it is still burning and pain radiating up and down from the shot. I thought that would be better today. I took my 4 pills this morning, put the salve and plastic bag on last night for an hour.

Tried to get problems straightened out at desk, there were a bunch and things were in disarray. Did a bunch of that, didn't get finished. But it's better. I did a proposal for DH and emailed. He is now at dentist with an appointment afterward, and I've asked him to pick up something, anything for dinner on the way back in. One less thing I have to worry about. He suggested steak from the freezer, but I said I couldn't eat that it would be ok for him though. I think he's going to bring a chicken back.

Anyway, I am ready for a nap or at least a rest. My hand looks a little better, but not much. I've had this before, but boy it's worse than any other time. So is my anxiety, which I think is the key. If I could just get a handle on that.

DH said up to last month he hoped to work another 10 years; couple weeks ago he said 5 years; a few days ago he said, well as long as I can and then I'll quit. He watched me get down on my knees, sit on the floor and tuck legs up around me and peer into a bottom shelf and was  that I can still do that. He can't do any of those things. :(

Happy Birthday to Harriet's DD - enjoy your special day!

I resemble Okay's remark about being behind on everything on the home front! I'm plugging along in each area, but with the backlog it's taking much longer than usual.

I also resemble Helia's comments about Dr. office's and appt. info. (Rant ahead)Yesterday I took DS to his first appt. with a Physical therapist (recommended by his Primary care doc). Long story just getting the appt. set up, involving referrals, insurance info, faxes, etc. which all seemed to become my job. I finally get the appt. set, wrote down the day and time 3 different places, downloaded the pre-paperwork as instructed and filled out. When we went to the appt. with the paperwork at the set time - the office admin. immediately said we were an hour early and needed 3 more pages of paperwork! Really??? I don't think so - but they were unapologetic and said come back in an hour or reschedule. Wow - not starting off well with the office for a course of several treatments that will be over 2 months. We came home and returned in an hour. When we were back home filling out the other papers, there is a sheet to sign saying "if you miss an appt., we will charge you $45" - Really??? How about paying me $45 for my wasted time/hour? Yikes - I was not a happy camper, but they are the only Physical therapist office in town. Okay - rant over. You may now return to your usual programming. LOL.

Off to the adventures cleaning up the messes around here.

Feeling tense but praying. . . . Dh and dd16 are out at her driving license test. It started about 30 minutes ago. I'm hoping she passed the parking/maneuvering part, which is the first part. If they don't show up here in 5 more minutes, I'll assume she passed that part.

Making progress on the laundry counter; everything folded except for 1 set of sheets. 1st lol (for today) is washed, dried, folded, and on my bed.

I think I'll do round robin between laundry catch up, chopping and dicing for dh, and house tidying:
Next -
- put away the laundry on my bed
- chop up garlic; dh wants 2 bulbs - yes, bulbs, not cloves - chopped up. I think that is umpteen times what the recipe calls for, but dh is not one to be beholden to a recipe. Fortunately, I really like garlic. Just don't get a whiff of us tomorrow. LOL!
- tidy living room.

Oh!!!! Sooo excited for LO, and sooo glad he had a good first day, OKay!!!

Happy birthday to Harriet's dd...

and WELCOME, bernice!

Good luck to helia's dd on driving test!!!

Exciting days all around.

I am waiting on dgs to arrive. First time I'll have him on my own -- w/out dh at home. I guess I'll have to take him over to see dmil for a little bit. She's been calling... if she goes 24 hours without seeing him, she acts like it has been a month! ;)
Tomorrow is another day.

Well dinner plans have changed instead of grilled chicken we will have baked, the possible storms have moved in, not complaining as we really need it.
Got sidetracked talking on phone so didnt get alot completed, will work on it more when the girls are in bed...
So here goes the rest of my day..
Dinner usually 5p
Baked Chicken
Pasta Salad
Corn on the cob
Dinner cleanup usually around 6 while cleaning the girls have thier Study hour..homework, no homework practice spelling words/math facts for 8 her handwriting,(swear she is going to be a Dr) or read.
7:15 begin showers/pack bookbags to include checked homework and any parent papers place on kitchen chair/who is taking lunch-make/pack.
In bed and lights out(even when there is sunshine  ) at 8!!
Hope you all have a pleasant evening, hope to remember names so I can join in the conversations
See you bright and early tomorrow.

Dgd is feeling "warm" today. She's napping on the couch now.
H. is home and said that hs could have poured the patio today but did not have the tools as sil needed them this week oh well it's pretty hot outside any way.

I've done a round in the kitchen dishwasher has been rebooted.
Now to get a handle on the rest of the stuff left on the counters and laundry.
Living room is good.
Dining table pretty good.
I swept and vacuumed yesterday the main part of the house so that helped.
Got another letter ready to mail but missed the mail man on this 2nd letter.

I need a plan for dinner we had a lovely chef salad yesterday it was yummy!

I laid low for a few hours, talking on the phone and then watching a movie. Still feel exhausted so may try and sleep for a bit.

My headache went away at some point today, I noticed it missing when I came up to lie down and my eyes are tired but don't have a headache now.

There's another round of voting (final one) for Moderator so I have to wait another 40 minutes or so for the results. That's cutting it close because the commissioners will all want to be at the university to hear the results but they have to be seated at the church downtown for 7:30. I'm assuming those at the church are aware of the delays.

Poor dh has no idea what he'll be having for dinner. So he passed on lunch in case he needed to save calories for fatty food at dinner.
