Since we have such a vast array of knowledge here in this little village, I come to you to ask a question. I thought I had hit on a plan for getting my water in. I'd been freezing water in the bottles in which individual water comes. I would sip when on an outing and it would always be cold. But, last night a dfriend told me that we're not supposed to 'freeze and drink' from those bottles. -because of the leakage of the bpa? Is this a truth? -I'm afraid I already know the answer to this. But I knew at least some of you would weigh in on this. If this is so, I'll get some reusable bottles -hopefully and use those with tap water.

I'm smiling today b/c got a 2 pens to use for chickens or to protect garden from chickens @ a yd. sale yesterday a friend was there w/ their truck and hauled it home b/c I was on my walk.

Dee I've heard you are not supposed to leave water bottles in a hot car and then drink from 'em, and not to reuse the thin water bottles. Have not heard that you can't freeze 'em. We do that with the thicker soda type bottles.

Today laundry is in the dryer got h's work clothes done rest of the laundry awaits.
Forgot my insulin last night so had to come home after dinner and wait to do groc. shopping.

Quick search shows the freeze water in bottle to be a hoax. Several sites and sources confirm it.

Personally, I'm more concerned about the quality of liquid in the bottle than the container that holds it. As well as the quantity consumed.

I'm procrastinating.....keeping busy but not working on what I have decided to do. Making myself accountable to finish LR cleanse project before I post again.

As for the quality of the water in the bottles, my guess is that it is higher quality than municipal water supplies due to bottling regulations, at least in Canada. Here we have had multiple cases of water quality problems (and at any time, not just native reserves but small municipalities are under boil water advisories.) On the other hand, I have never heard a case of bottled water being recalled and they hand out bottled water when there is a boil water advisory.

I've done the dusting and worked on a few of the kitchen chores. I won't do all of them this week (it was last Tuesday I should have done them) but I got three done. The rest can wait.

Dh is going to take me out to lunch now and then some grocery shopping. We are driving farther from home than usual so this is a big outing for me.

Snopes had interesting reading on freezing water bottles. Essentially said that colder temps actually restrict any leaching and that, as Nancy said, water left in a car to heat up (sometimes to very high temps) is problematic. So I guess I have my answer. I will continue to freeze and drink/sip. I was really thinking how helpful this would be to freeze a few bottles before we leave for FL and put them in our cooler -taking in to hotel fridges at night. They should remain cold all the way to FL that way.

Just made dh his lunch. We had chicken 'n biscuits (minus the biscuits). This dish is certainly thick enough to be eaten as a stew. Dh had his over salt-rising toast (bought some at the Amish store yesterday). Before this we could only get it in southern NY state -in Cuba, NY. Love it toasted. Now I'm heating a dish for myself. Going to freeze the rest of the 'stew' I think. This guy made such a big pot of it, I can't even lift it by myself. Dipped out enough for DS-R & DDIL for supper last night (I know they don't have much fridge room in their RV. They have a regular RV fridge and ours is a full size one -just like at home. Plus we have a fairly large dorm type one on our deck -just keep beverages in there.

It was at least 3 before I fell asleep this morning. Then at 4:10 I heard dh getting in bed. I then slept until 8:30. It was after 9 when I started my walk but I was determined to stick with it. It was just 70 but the humidity is high.

When I came in from walking, dd1 and dgd15 were here. She had came to pay me for the 4 festival tickets that she had me pick up for her yesterday. Her dh and dgd15 have decided not to go. So one of the extra tickets will go to dgs18 girlfriend. The other will go to a friend of dd1 so they can go to the Chrisitan concert tonight.

We have a new burger/custard place opening tomorrow. Dgd15 will be working there. Today they are letting their help invite family in for a trial run and it's free. Dgd15 invited her parents, us and dd2 family. Dh has had to go in to work today and probably won't be home for supper, so I will go with dd1.

Dh has put two water bottles in the car for emergency. We'll rethink that. (We keep the case by the back door to grab one when we are on the way out if we forget to refill our water bottles.)

As for freezing: Dee I kept mine frozen and in the cooler they lasted at least 2 days, sometimes up to 4 if they were in the fridge overnight in hotel rooms. Not all hotel fridges have a freezer but they are often set so cold or have cold spots and I found putting them in the bottom at the back was useful. I also had a 1.5 liter bottle of frozen water with me so that might have helped with the cooling since it was a bigger block of ice.

Back from lunch (Subway) and groceries. Exhausted and heading to bed now.

When I made the road trip out west with my dkids, I got a gallon "cooler" - the type that sports teams use in a larger version, and filled it each morning with ice and water from the hotel. I mostly reused the nicer soft drink take out containers with lids and straws, and I had cold water all the time without using plastic water bottles, which I always feel guilty about. On the road, I would have gone through a lot of water bottles. Here at home, I may be go through one or two a day and we keep them in the garage refrigerator so it's easy to grab when I head out.

I think that dh is going to help load stuff into my car, and I'll go to drop it off and get a pedicure.

Living room cleanse project is official complete!!

Fish were transferred to livestock tank. We have kept fish alive in those type tanks for years and they grow quite large. LO stayed and "talked" to the fish while they were checking out their new habitat. Fish tank/equipment were scrubbed and put into GW bag.

Hump back trunk contents were sorted and about 1/2 of them put into GW bag. I've decided to relocate the trunk into a closet....which are due to be cleansed next week. So the trunk will stay in it's temporary staging area until that project kicks off in 2 days.

Lunch was buffet style.... choice of rainbow salad, BBQ brisket, fried okra, pumpkins seeds, mashed potatoes, yogurt, crackers, cheese ball.

time to put feet up for an hour while LO naps.
