SUNDAY SIMPLICITY

Post by DeeClutter »

We all need a day of 'simplicity', especially after this (or these) past week(s). Relax and enjoy the things around you today. Get well vibes to all who need them -think of Harmony and Kathryn right off the top of my head. Sure there are more of you....

I slept very well last night. Blood sugar is right where it belongs today -hope I can keep that up.

I have decide to not go to church this morning. Woke with a terrific head/neck ache. AND I am so filled up and eyes running, etc, etc. Guess it truly is allergy 'season' again.

It's beautiful out this morning.Dh is working -much to his dismay. He says he's not working next weekends next year. Hopefully not. This only happened because another guy was hired to replace dh while he was supposed to be out recovering from heart surgery. Since that didn't happen it's kind of messed things up for the year.

A big thank you for Kathryn for fixing my password / village entry problems.

I couldn't work out the new camera so didn't take it. I'll need take it to someone for lessons in battery charging. And its use.
DGD2's birthday party today. Family and play group friends. A glorious day today. sunny. nice winter day. A bit of a breeze so I was glad of dd's shelter. Who knew dd2 sewing skills. A flag with dgd's name. A "tent" - double sided fabric patterns with reinforced eyelets. A cardboard home made little kid sized castle with little fastener doobies to hold it together.
Home cooked goodies.

Home at 5.30. walked the dog. dinner.

Its late - need to get ready for bed. goodnight
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

Good Morning! Sweet Dreams to LynLee :)

Simple is good! This morning it took me about 3 minutes to remove STUFF, dust and sweep the living room. It now has been restore to it's simple shiny & clean state.

Lilac - I did finish refinishing the living room floor this week. It was a bigger project than I expected, but I sure am glad to have it done.

Off to church. *POOF*

Just did a planner sheet for dh to put on a clip board (titled "Today's To-Do") Sounds familiar? He had brought in a pink sheet with a list of his to-do's for yesterday and immediately I thought it might be helpful for him to have a daily sheet for him to list his plans on. He bought it! :P I have cards posted as reminders for him but he really needs something with him.

I awoke with a horrendous headache this morning and kept smelling something. At one point I went into the kitchen and noticed 1 burner was turned slightly on. Probably just enough to let propane in here. Had our bedroom door open so that probably prevented it from getting high enough to set off the co2 detector. DH mentioned he'd smelled something to this morning when he got up around 6 but couldn't find a source. It's gone now, but I still have a lingering headache. I was also so terribly stuffed that I had decided against church.

Overcast now and we need rain but I don't think we'll get it yet.

Up and about here. Yesterday, I went out mid afternoon to take the Goodwill stuff and get a pedicure. The pedicure as usual took a long time, and when I got home dh and I went out to eat, then went directly on to a movie last night. Home to walk ddogs then straight to bed, so I never checked back in yesterday.

This morning we walked dogs and I've surfed online and had breakfast...dh has gone to buy a lawn mower (he's been using a borrowed one) and I need to get busy.

-clear kitchen counters
-reboot laundry
-make the bed
-clear kitchen table
-straighten great room
-to dos for the day....

Back from church. It was touch and go if I'd make it there (I just wanted to nap after my shower) and it was hard to stay 'up' (I just sat for the last of the hymns because I didn't trust myself to stand) but I made it through. Next week there is a picnic after so that will be a greater challenge but I might be stronger by then.

I'm off to bed now. Checked in on my friend's service in hopes of recording the sermon but their broadcast server is down so that won't happen. The techy put a note on the home page so I'd know it was his system and not my system causing the trouble. Today is that last week I can record (unless I'm sick) because our church hours change in two weeks and we have the picnic next week so I won't be home from church to start a recording.

Dh is taking me out for supper tonight. Don't get excited, it will be McD's. But I'm hoping to get to Walmart too to pick up some notebooks for journalling.

Dd is going to call in a bit to chat so I'll take the phone and headset upstairs with me. I should eat some lunch but am not really hungry.

Think I'm going to take the golf cart for a spin and try to get some pure oxygen in my system. Still a bit foggy headed and a tad on the 'dizzy' side. Not bad, but definitely not up to par. Meantime I have windows and doors open to get good circulation in here. Oh, perhaps I should also turn on my fantastic fans -they'll circulate the air even more.

Talked to dd and she said as we talked that the first bands of rain started during that conversation. (from Issac) Our neighbors are planning to leave here on Wed. for FL -I think depending on how the rains come up the east side of the country by then.

The main jobs today are going to be writing for the temple bulletin and processing some paperwork. Need to be at an event tonight at 6 p.m. so will s2s before going there. Otherwise, a.m. routine is done.

I am going to process 9 pieces of paper now....

Wow, Dee, I'm glad you weren't hurt with the gas escaping. Interesting that your DD is getting rain bands way up there. This storm is so big. It wouldn't be much of a threat except for its size and the storm surge it kicks up along the way. South Florida and SW Florida will be the hardest hit, then the panhandle. I would never live up there. Everything seems to go there.

Maybe we can save some rain along the way for Lucylee and Harriet and maybe even Twins.

I have enough done for a storm like this. Last eve. I got the refrigerator all cleaned out. Today I got the turkey breast into the cooker outside. If we can't cook later, I can always throw this into the cooler with ice and it will feed us a good while. We have peanut butter and tuna fish. And bread. I got gas in the car on the way home from church. The outside book drop was closed off. I can understand that. I brought in a big bowl of big green peppers off the plants outside. Plants like that don't need that extra weight in a bunch of wind.

The sky looks angry and it is very breezy outside. I just hope we don't lose electric for a long time. Wouldn't really bother me, but I don't want to listen to DH. He has no patience for that.

Lynlee, glad your trip was safe there and back this time.
