Did up the dishes. Hardest was the chicken 'stew' pot that friend from other side brought for us the other night. It's probably a 10qt pot & had at least 7 qts of stew. Gave DS-R & ddil some, ate for dinner & at least 2 lunches & froze 3 more containers. This guy loves to cook! That's probably the biggest pan I've washed in here :!:  Now time to give my back a break. Sink is very deep and there's about 3-4" of counter in front of it. Dirst I've ever seen that.

Eating my Greek ypgurt for lunch. Might have 1 later for a snack.

I'm up from late morning rest. I tried resting in my recliner and dozed a little bit over 30 minutes and then read quietly for another 30 minutes. I don't feel overly awake but am moving around.

Dh is making me lunch.

(((Dee)))
I know how that feels. Woke up from a dream earlier this week realizing that I hadn't given my daddy a hug outside his bedroom door.

Harriet: have you thought of wiring in a breaker for your stove? They are set up that you have throw that switch as well as turn on the burner in order to get the stove to work and are used in homes where a member is suffering dementia.

The big problem for my dad was my mom running the dishwasher with laundry detergent in it (hint - it makes a HUGE mess). Of course, that was partly his fault because he insisted on keeping a jar of laundry detergent under the sink for cleaning stuff. I suggested he move all cleaning supplies except dishwasher powder somewhere else but he resisted that change.

Quick checkin here...internet is wonky this morning. Afternoon actually.

Non-storm came through during the night / morning with some wind and intermittent rain. I was expecting more rain. It will be raining off and on all day most likely. We just had a rain about 45 minutes steady. It is breezy and the trees are swaying a bit. It is nothing to worry about.

We got the stain on the entertainment unit yesterday. Today DH wants me to put the polyurethane on it. I'm not feeling able, but I'll try. It is a lot of bending to get into the different sections.

I'm not feeling well today at all. The house isn't cold but my legs and feet are.

(OKay) and (LO) growing up is a challenge. There is always something new to get used to. I do hope your DFriends situation gets easier, I feel for those children.

Kathryn, run the a/c if you need to. Blame it on me!

"Fresh Start Monday" is appropriate for me, Dee. I have been on automatic pilot for too long, only doing the bare minimum, i.e. critter care, newspaper in from the driveway (haven't read it for a couple of weeks), eating (mostly at the hospital), and trying to sleep. My house is suffering, time to get cracking!!!

((OKay)) - I hope LO has a good day, (and you too) :) All my closets need to be cleaned out. Some day......

Dee, you look beautiful!

It is going to be hot today, and humid after the rain we had over the weekend. Guess summer isn't over yet.

Well, I need to go see how DMother is doing today. I could call her, but I never know when she has PT or other things. The hospital is only 3 minutes from my house so really not a big deal.

Waving to everyone, have a good day!

Checking In

Exercised, showered. Dbrother's laundry is now in the dryer. I sorted DH's and my laundry and have the sheets and towels washing. I just do DH's, mine and Dbrother's. The rest of the menfolk do their own the rest of the week.

Dishwasher needs to be unloaded and loaded again. Counters and microwave need to be washed off. That's next on the agenda.

Yes ((((Dee))) and((Kathryn))) I know what you mean. There's usually something I hear or learn that I want to share with Dmom and then it hits again. Right now with Indiana gone, I am feeling lots of those feeling again. I can feel her non-presence here, if that makes sense to anyone. Had a dream where Dmom was happy because she was moving into a new place and getting it all ready, I'm thinking in my mind it was really Indiana, getting everything all organized.

Well back to the kitchen.

(((Group Hug)))) I'm so glad you share about loved ones that have passed. It feels like an honor to hear those treasured memories.

Closet Cleanse Round #2 - entry closet completely emptied. Painted it......OH the projects I just jump into without knowing what I am doing never end!!! Once the closet was emptied, I thought it would look so much better with a fresh coat of paint. Checked out our left over paint stash from other projects and found almost a full gallon of Bright White Enamel. (I think I should have used latex.....but what do I know??? It covered the walls and it looks clean) One coat on the closet walls and shelves used up over 1/2 of that gallon of paint. I am not a neat painter  so cleanup was extra long. END OF STORY - the closet looks fresh and clean......but I'm going to have to let it dry over night before I can start putting things in it. hum....I selected this closet to start on because I thought it would be the quick/easiest one. I thinking I might not get as far on the multiple closet cleanse project this week as I had hoped.

OKay, we're going to have to work on teaching you the definition of 'good enough'. Painting the insides of closets is more than good enough. Good enough is washing the walls, cleaning the shelves and maybe fresh shelf paper. No-one sees the back wall of a closet because the coats are in the way so they don't need paint.

I've got some data entry done. Found 3 out of 4 of the receipts for the cans of pop. The fourth receipt has been shredded but I'll try and do an exchange anyway. If I can't, I'll donate it to the church for a supper, along with the open cases.

Also talked to our broker.

Have told dh that we need to go to bank to pay a bill and to the general store to pick up the mail. I'm upset we have to drive in to the bank but I can't pay this one online because it is in US$.

I'm ready for another nap as well. Don't know if I should do that before or after we go.

Checking In

The laundry is proceeding along. Sheets should be dry soon so I'll make up our bed. Whites are washing. Dbrother is folding his clothes. He likes to do this himself so he knows where all of his things are.

Menfolk came home hungry. They didn't stop for lunch while out so I made them Brats and sauerkraut for lunch.

Now I have lunch dishes to do but energy level is dropping.

Going to surf the net for a few minutes and then dig into those dishes.

I'm back from another dental appointment--not fun!

Did have a moment this morning when I thought "Indiana is gone." She taught me to manage my health better. She knew her own body so well and was meticulous about keeping doctors informed--just the opposite of what I have seen family members do. DM doesn't like to share anything with doctors and says "Let them figure it out!"

Kally, it's good to "see" you!

Supper is in crockpot. Cake in oven. Tea is made. House is straightened enough. Need to pay bills. Paperwork is always on the verge of getting out of control.

Dee, fresh start works for me, too. It is good to be back home this week and trash was collected this morning, so this is a good day in spite of the dental appointment.
