Checking In
Called the ad company back again and talked with another rep. This one said the 2013 books have not closed yet and someone will call us in September or October. We are in good standing with company. Will see how it goes. My Blood Pressure is coming down a little.
Cooked lunch and got the dishwasher running. Dbrother and I are eating alfredo, I made plenty in case hungry Menfolk show up soon. If they don't I know what dinner will be.
Want to do floors and bathrooms today.
Hopefully the afternoon will be more productive than this morning.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARMONY!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCYLEE!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHERINJOY!
Wishing you all a wonderful day!!
I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday. As Harmony said, we had a non-storm day. The bad weather was all on the east and south coasts. We had some rain, but it was not even as hard as some normal summer storms we have. The sun is shining in between clouds today.
We were prepared, that's the main thing. We bought extra supplies, but nothing that won't be used up.
We haven't been out since last Friday, so today is errand day. Stops will be at post office, two drug stores to pick up rx refills and probably the mall for a quick walk.
Dh wants to leave now, so I must run.........bbl

Re: Birthday Triplets Tuesday
Hello, villagers ~
Happy birthday to Lucylee, Harmony, & Sherinjoy!
Dee ~ What a terrific and reasonable plan for doing your 50 things in 10 short days.
Yesterday I kept pulling out the camo uniform to try to figure out how to cut it into bags. Then I'd get interrupted, fold it away to keep a cat from getting fur all over it, and try again later. Last night I finally decided that all of the pockets and velcro are great, but they are not the right size or in a good location to be able to make the best use of the fabric for the bags I'm making.
I also decided that the bags will look much better if they are lined. Found some lining fabrics and washed them. Decided which zippers will work best.
This morning I thought I might find a pattern online that I could adapt. Looked at what felt like hundreds. They all look like handy bags, but not what I want.
Supper is in the crockpot - chicken & rice with mushrooms. I'll fix green beans for veg.
Lunch is almost ready. After I eat, I will trace a pattern from the sample bag I was given. I have plenty of lining fabric so will use some to make a prototype bag for size and method. Then I can adjust my pattern, copy the pattern pieces a few times, and start cutting up the uniform.
Once I figure how to cut out the pieces, the sewing for the bags will actually be relatively easy. After the first one, I can assembly line the rest. It's all this prep work that is complicated. I have a bunch of tv shows recorded and am looking forward to "watching" while sewing tonight.
Must fit in a nap sometime this afternoon.

Re: Birthday Triplets Tuesday
Hello everybody! Thank you for your birthday wishes, and I'm adding my wishes for LUCYLEE and SHERINJOY. I hope you two are doing something special today.
I am not doing anything more than I have to. I've had phone calls, though, and of course facebook messages and a card. Enough for this year.
It is quiet here. I am trying not to go take a nap. It's a struggle.
Sadie, sorry to read about the phone book ad. I know how bad that could be. We pay monthly. So many businesses went under they adopted a new policy here. We had to give them a credit card number and they took about 1/4 of the yearly fee in the beginning. I'm wondering what happens if one goes under, do they use that card # to bill the rest? Lets hope I never have to know.
I guess I will work on some paperwork. I did at least get the bills paid.
OKay, I hope the counseling session today goes smoothly.

HAPPY B-DAY, TRIPLETS!!
Have vacuumed the basement, knocked down spiderwebs on porch, and sprayed a huge wasp nest that is high up on the house. Had to hang out upstairs window to do that. Will knock the nest down in 24 hours. I guess I'm on insect patrol today.
DW unloaded. Bed made. Going to vacuum rug in family room. I need to get the lead out and do more than that! OKay has me noticing that some of our closets have never been painted inside! House is 21 years old. We'll get to it, I hope...

Re: Birthday Triplets Tuesday
I'm home and in bed now. Went very well.
Yes, the meeting was very important. It was supposed to be our last for the Resource Centre but the person has been kept on for an additional 15 hours over the next while because the accounts are still in a mess. That was never part of my job so I won't take that on.
The (remainder of the) library is just as I left it. I got about 20 books sorted today. Originally, I had wanted the library ready for the first of September but now I'm shooting for October. I have to recategorize each book and then mark each one we are keeping as part of the data base to keep. The IT guy will then purge the data base of all the books we aren't keeping and we'll print off a list and have it for people to look up books online. There are probably 200 - 300 books left.
After dh picked me up at noon, we went to Staples and bought 2-line phones for the business (I've been struggling with not enough for the last year), lunch at Subway, bulk food store, grocery store and then picked up a new handle for dh's guitar case. I bought some jelly beans at the bulk food store and a handful of those took away the overwhelming achy tiredness so I managed fine despite being up almost 7 hours.
I'll nap for a couple of hours this afternoon, then an early dinner because dh has a conference call and then he has a friend over.
The weather here is a perfect, sunny, windy, warm (not hot) day so I have the wind blowing over me while I rest. Very nice.

Re: Birthday Triplets Tuesday
Been wondering how Kathryn's making out. Glad you posted, Kathryn. Rest. That seems to be the order of the day: you, Harriet, Harmony. If any more of you need it -then just do it. (I did
). DGS7 always laughs at me when I awake after a little snooze.
I just had some ice cream with dgs -should not have done that! Now I have heartburn, plus I KNOW how not good it is for diabetics.
I'll pay, I'm sure. Wish I had something to nibble on that's good for me. Think Indiana had some suggestions -think I'll go searching. I'm so grateful for all the tidbits she's left us.

Re: Birthday Triplets Tuesday
Good afternoon and Happy Birthday to our triplets! Two more days until my interviews. I really need to get this job. I am eating a late lunch of ham, lima beans, and lemon pasta. I have two cube steaks going in the crockpot. I hope these turn out better than the ones I did in the skillet (so tough as to be inedible!). I am doing my usual nothing at payroll and getting paid nothing too. I was able to print my bank statement today, but won't be able to balance the account because it is Girls' Night Out. I may offer DD10 the choice of going to the bookstore and getting <= $10. That is the same price as the tokens at Chuck E Cheese. Or even better, the library (free!). I need to put in more applications in case I don't get the one on Thursday. I want this situation to end and soon.

We hope it ends soon for you, too, Elizabeth.
I checked out Indiana's snacks -if you ever want some suggestions, it's under "Healthy Habits" -2nd one down under topics. She sure did a lot of leg work for us.
