Hoping for good things for Elizabeth!

I am home - met with rabbi at 8:30, worked, then to ENT re: pain in tooth or jaw, then by Petsmart and home again. Dh is already home and is mowing the yard, hopefully before we have rain!

I did not receive the info I needed to finish the tax return that is due Sept 17, so will have to sit until Sept 10 when I return to work. I've already alerted partner that I won't be there on Sept 17 as it is Rosh Hashanah, the new year. My worst fear was that the client would have sent it after I left this afternoon, and I'd feel obligated to work tomorrow to finish the return.

I have a full li&t (apologies to any offended) to do tomorrow. We will drive to ATL late afternoon/evening and have dinner w friends for our 26th anniversary, then go on to Hilton Head on Saturday.

The young lady who is dog sitting is coming by at 8:30 tonight to get her instructions and meet the dog boys. I haven't heard from dd and there hasn't been obituary or funeral info about her school friend who passed away, so I don't know whether she is coming for the weekend. If she's coming, then I don't need to mail her Tanach - or Hebrew bible. She needs it for a college course, in lieu of buying another copy. (She has one presented to her at her bat mitzvah with her name engraved on it.)

Amazing I just logged into a CVS account and ordered a refill for meds.

I need to get busy......
-write out instructions for dog sitter
-make a prioritized li%t for tonight and tomorrow
-start a lol
-clear the kitchen table
-straighten up "great room" (Subtitle, get up the plastic from where the ddog ate the hot dog buns....)

Helia, congrats on launching ds into a dorm room! At least my two were far enough away that I have to send anything forgotten. Or they have to buy!

Hi everybody.

I've been struggling a bit today. Again. Oh, well.

The entertainment unit sits in the garage needing its surface sanded and recoated. It seems like such a big job to me that I keep resisting. My floors still need done. DH and I got mad at each other over that chore and neither of us finished it.

I did force myself to sit at my desk and write out my list of cards for the church ministry I'm involved with. The other gal and I talked a couple weeks ago and decided to do it this way once again...and she's no doubt way ahead of me getting her cards out. I just felt like I had no encouragement to give. I also knew the exercise would be good for me too, though so today I just got it done. It is one less thing on my mind.

Dee, I have been pondering your upcoming house guest situation. The middle of Oct I have been asked to take care of 2 yr old DGD for 10 days while DD1 goes away with her DH. Then, the weekend after Thanksgiving I've been asked to take care of 2 DGSs and the same DGD for about 3 days while they attend an away wedding. So both of us are facing house guests we'd rather not... I am keeping a good thought that you will be healthy during their visit and things will go smoothly. I am hoping I'll just have enough strength and energy.

Grandparents Day is coming up at other DGSs school and we always go to that, but the car is acting up and it is a 3-hour trip and I don't feel up to it. Am feeling very bad to be disappointing them.

Thyroid is one thing on my mind. Oh Fooey. I just need to get better.

Twins, an early Happy Anniversary! Have a nice trip.

I have made progress. Have instructions written out for dog sitter, including that cleaning lady will come on Monday and that dd may come home. Dh went out for a pizza for us.

This round:
-fold two loads of laundry in the bedroom and put away, including stuff that goes upstairs
-make the bed
-clear kitchen counters, including the breakfast bar (the new "hot" counter)
-find three sets of comments regarding the rabbi's contract renewal.
-Look in the garage to see if I can find dd's Tanach

Onward. Dh has no idea I have so much OMM.

Disconcerting meeting this morning, I think I'll post if J & C.

Back from the doctor.

No real news. I'm to follow up with the specialist. I'll see her in 2 weeks if I don't see him. I'll go for another blood test next week (I have the requisition in my folder.)

She did say that when she talked to him, the specialist was talking about doing a liver biopsy. Dh asked me about that after and I told him it was the first time I'd heard about a biopsy and to keep in mind that he would have said that before the ultrasound results came back that the liver looked normal. Still, dh said he might want to see what's going on in the liver rather than just rely on what shows up in the blood work. All I know is that suddenly I'm not as excited to see the specialist!

The GP also said that she has no clue what is wrong with me, but general hepatitis takes months to get over and I have to be prepared for that and to keep napping as much as I need to (and more!) She feels the specialist will be able to make a diagnosis even if my symptoms are all gone by the time I see him. Plus we are still waiting to hear the results from the Epstein Barr and CMV tests and they may give us more insight.

So that's my update.

After the appointment, we walked across the street and picked up grapes, eggs, salad and bananas, then walked back to the car. The doctor doesn't want me walking as far as the store just yet but walks around the block are acceptable.

The doctor's appointment and showering are the only things I accomplished today.

No, Kathryn, you don't need one. That was before the ultrasound. Don't worry about that.

I got my exercise in. Long workout, feeling well.

Lovely supper of wild salmon.

It certainly seems we don't have a very long evening any more. I'd better get the Evening Daily Card done.

Little girls love to get to go on outings with Grandpas, Harmony. Hopefully to a park with lots of space for playing, getting tired.

Not using the timer today, but I am making progress w/my to-do L*I*S*T.
Dmom said she and her doctor's wife/nurse were discussing list-making the other day and dmom said she gave up when she realized she was "carrying over" more than she completed each day.
Doctor's wife advised using post-it-notes b/c then there is very little written on any single sheet, and you can just throw it away when you complete those tasks.
I know someone has given that hint here before, but I thought it was worth repeating.
But I don't mind carrying over items... I'm just overwhelmed b/c there are sooo many items right now. However, the list IS -- very slowly -- getting shorter.

Dgs sleeping in his car seat/carrier again. Doesn't look like the most comfortable place to nap, but he certainly is sacked out.
Last night he slept from around 9:00 pm till 6:00 am w/a 1:30 am feeding. After his bottle @ 6:00 this morning, I put him back in his bassinet and he was sound asleep again immediately, and dh said he slept till ddil got here around 8:30.

Must get busy with some laundry and other stuff. It is sooo easy to just let the world stand still while we sit and watch dgs sleep... but, alas... at some point I will realize I have nothing to wear!
Tomorrow is another day.

I am back from my interview, dinner, and curriculum night. I guess the interview went ok, I'm not sure. At any rate, it's over and that is good. Dinner was turkey and dressing at Cracker Barrel. I have also made up my lunch for tomorrow. Then I realized I will be eating at home because the swamp cooler repair person is coming. Oh well, I can eat it here just as well as anywhere else. At curriculum night, the teachers talk to the parents about how the classes work and what the expectations are. Then everyone gets a popsicle. I bought four colors of inexpensive yarn for the bedspread. I am doing a mix of plain colors, 49 rectangles of differing colors and stitches, to be put together randomly. That way I won't get bored. Like a crazy quilt maybe? Tomorrow, I go back to unpaid payroll. I am really ready to get some income. I want to be able to give to the church and to the animal rescue group again. And darnit, I want to be able to buy stuff for myself too - like a printer, I have none! When DCat18 died, I was so glad I didn't have massive vet bills to contend with. I never EVER want to be in a position that I can't provide for my pets medical issues.

Dh and I watched The Apartment. It is being dropped from Netflix.ca at the end of the week and was on the Romantic Comedy list. Wasn't very funny and was only romantic for the last few minutes. Jack Lemmon was good, though.

Dh is washing up the dishes that didn't go in the dishwasher. I'm supposed to be upstairs getting ready for bed but snuck on here.

Good night.

Glad the interviews are over, Elizabeth. I am hopeful one will work out. You just need one, right?

I hear your mom on the list-making quandary, lucylee. I'm going to stop posting 5x5s; unlike Dee, I only manage to get through 3 each day. Maybe it was 4 yesterday? I can't remember. But then I do other things that aren't on the list and can't give myself credit for them, like moving ds into his dorm was never on my list. . . Hmm.... Maybe it should have been? I think I'm not very good at making li&ts, to be honest.

I've eaten well today, stayed within my points, including extras for a 35 minute jog. This evening, I tended the chickens. Their feeder is a little gunked with wet food. . . Maybe the lid was askew last time we had rain, which was sometime last week. I started cleaning it out, but then it got dark so I'll finish tomorrow. I also watered the flowers by the house. Then, I watched the last 2 episodes of Emma (BBC, 2009) on my amazon prime. I just got a return email re: child care for a moms group meeting a week from Friday. I have one child care worker; one more would be great. I'm waiting on one more email but will make some calls/send more emails tomorrow.

I said "yes" to watching another dog, starting tomorrow afternoon. This should be interesting; he is another lab, quite young. His name is Hank. So, there will be 3 labs here for a day. Tori should be leaving Saturday; Hank should be leaving Sunday. If Tori and Hank don't get along, I'll just take Hank back to his house and stop by to take care of him a couple times a day. Did I ever tell you my original program (undergrad) was pre-veterinarian? --To the surprise of no one who knew me. :)

I'm not really tired yet. I think I'll tidy the kitchen and see how I feel.

So glad I'm not the only one not getting through 5 of the 5x5 I post unless it's bed time! I had granny duty 2x today and did not have time to post. Library called with one of my books in. H. is on a weird shift tomorrow as they have a big pour, then major plant repairs this weekend prayers appreciated.

My bday is going to get lost in the shuffle. Dgkids will be here Sat. and over nite.

Today the cleaning I did was because I wanted or needed to not b/c of the house being for sale the Realtor's ast. came and got the signs today! That felt great! So I'm hoping to get to at least one room for a good cleaning tomorrow as no granny duty after all the place dd fills in for is closed so she does not need me after all. Not very many yd. sales b/c of the long weekend here either. They have a boating thing this weekend.
It's good with hubby's busy schedule it's good for me to have the grands over.

Got a gift card from my dsis and will use that when they do the family meal thing.

Finished one more puppet today.
