Cowinkie, I completely understand the pleasure you get from reading! I always loved to read growing up, but let that fall by the wayside when kids were born. Rediscovered my love of reading when they were in high school and college. Always have a book going and a bunch on reserve at library.

Gathered recycling and did some filing. I'm loving this day!

Up from nap. Literally had to flee from the kitchen table before finishing my lunch because I suddenly felt ill and had to lie down. Slept very soon after that and for at least an hour. Was down for 2 hours in total.

Time to go for my blood draw.

To answer questions about stitchery: It is the 5th of 6 that go to granddaughters in 1st grade. (only I'm late with this one as she just entered 2nd grade.)

It is a 12 x 18 picture mat of plastic Aida cloth that has 12 cutouts, one for each of the school pictures from 1st to 12th grade.

I am all done except for the labels of 1st thru 12 grade that go under the cut outs. We painted and left the frame here earlier this summer so they can put it together.

I have one more to go for DGD#6 and have the materials with me to start it. We also painted and left the frame with DGD#6 so I can just send the mat when I get her's done.

The plastic Aida cloth was hard to find - so I purchased 4 of them several years ago (I had 4 left to make at that point). It is the same with the frames. We can't find the exact size so DH saws them apart and makes them the correct size. We also purchased 4 of them at the same time I got the Aida cloth. We knew (hoped) that DGD#6 was the caboose and that is so.

DH was able to get the TV antenna to work and it is much easier to stitch when watching/listening TV. I have 2 hours in already today. I'm hoping for at least one more, if not two, hours today.

elly, one of dh's sisters was very picky too! At some point, though, she did want to get married and have children and had to face her pickiness. This is the sister who got married 2 weeks ago. She is almost 37yo. She found a wonderful man a little older than her. It is the first marriage for both of them, and they seem well-suited for each other.

I walked with dfriend, had a snack, got out some Hebrew; I'm not sure how to review -- I reviewed a little vocab yesterday, but I don't think it matters at this point. In fact, the lower class is more convenient to my schedule. I'll review some verb tense conjugations and noun suffixes just so I don't embarrass myself. Then, I'll work in ds' room.

In an hour, I'll start prepping for dinner so we can eat soon after I get back from the synagogue.

Cowwinkie I'm joining you in some reading got a couple ch. read in a library book and read a kids book to dgd today.

We've picked up toys. I made a half hearted attempt at the kit. it needs another round or two still but is some what improved I think I really can't tell yet but it couldn't hurt!

Twice I've heard/seen dd32 answer the question, "When did you get your masters?" by pointing to the 2 younger boys running/toddling by and saying, "Between that one and that one." But I think that was a superwoman time in her life (and dsonil's) that will not be repeated. They are often genuinely tired these days and wondering how they will get everything done. I have more hope now that ds27's bachelor's will be completed soon since this dept courting him still has previous state funds for it and isn't stagnated like most.

helia, yes I napped and my only regret is that I didn't time it. I'd like to know how much nap time I'm running on.

After the school run, dd and I went on errands to bank, pharmacy 2, and the healthy food store, which had sent me a coupon for a free pound of their very nice coleslaw. Dd's purchase there was a new item - a probiotic chocolate bar. (Kathryn, I'll have to let you know what she thinks!)

I decided to try out their local-dairy glass-bottle no-hormones milk. $2.29 for the classic size bottle and the one-time bottle deposit, which you get back in cash when you bring it back to the store. Is anyone else doing this, or has anyone determined it's not worth it to their family?

Grabbed a Subway salad as I'm eating minimalist today.

I woke up this morning and hit the floor running. Good Day!

LO room cleanse progress - On way home from taking him to school I bought new outlet/switch covers. Then i covered them with the room decor (tractors, trucks, cars, planes). Also covered the cornice boards. Arraigned the 26 large stick-ons over the walls about 3 times before finally settling on a pattern. Late yesterday I wash the rug and let it dry overnight. It looks great now. Everything is done except for hanging the window curtains. I don't really like the curtains I bought for his room (a couple months ago) but am trying not to be so picky. They are the curtains used in all the "designer room" pictures with this comfortor, so i will just go with them and try not the think too hard on it. On the way to get LO from school I bought curtain rods but it will probably be tomorrow before I can get them hung.

Reading! Yes! I have a 30 minute period each day to read. On Helia recommendation I bought The Hiding Place (Corrie ten Boom) and am about 3/4 way through the book. EXCELLENT! I also recently watched a movie "The couple" which isn't directly related to the book, but is similar circumstances/time in history. It had me on the edge of my seat and took me 3 days to watch it (I kept stopping it and walking away because it was so emotional for me). Very good movie!

I had wanted to get here early and reply to posts sort of "as they came" but it didn't happen. Have been having a fight with a computer program which has taken entirely too much of my time and for sure has not helped my disposition.

Interesting to see that so many of us love to read. You can add me into that list! One of my favorite authors over the years is C.S. Lewis but I had not read any of his books for quite a while. I only have one here at the house and that is actually on my Kindle, so I need for ds to take me to the storage building where a lot of my books are stored so I can retrieve all of his that I own. They are they kind of books that can be read over and over again so I can keep busy with those for a long time to come. Good thing too because when I checked the booksellers I found that his books are priced higher = much higher - than when I was buying them before.

Cowinkie, it's easy to see that you are enjoying retirement. Nothing like it!!

Lucylee, hang in there. This school year will be over before you know it. Doesn't look that way the first week of school though, does it?

I am done at payroll and actually had work to do today. So I will get paid some on Sept 15. YEAH!!! I am going to eat at church tonight, they are having ham steak. When I get home, I will do some cleanup in DD10's room, put away some laundry, and be sure to charge my cell phone. I also need to download a copy of my resume so I can have it open when the interviewer calls tomorrow. Tomorrow is Thursday, so I don't have to fix a lunch, I will eat out with my friends. Gotta go now, gotta lock the laptop in the safe.

Making a stab at the correct bedtime again. Try, try again. Evening Daily Card done well. HRH brought take out for dd and himself, which suited me fine. Even though it looked great, I know it could be on my menu tomorrow if I still want it. Ate "with" them but I had oatmeal with fresh blueberries and coconut oil and am happy with my day.

((Sadie)) even though in these situations the company/person may feel you got what you asked from them and should be happy, if it was stressful and tedious to fight for your rights it still cost you.

ellyphant, how was your dh's birthday?
