Work and Play Wednesday

Good evening everyone! I have eaten at the church. I wanted to go to the Bible study, but a mom needed someone to look after her 3yo while she got help from another member with school. So I did that instead. Perhaps I will read in Galatians tonight as that is what they are studying. I should be able to go next week.

When I got home I noticed some weeds and pulled and sprayed them. My phone is charging for my interview tomorrow. My latest resume is where I can access it quickly. I am about to watch Hogan's Heroes (mindless amusement for me) and work on crocheting a rug.

You can put me down for a book lover too - mystery novels!

Have not yet mastered the art of replying to everyone (except in my head). But here goes...

Harriet--DH had a relaxing birthday and then got to celebrate again at work today. So he's done now for a year!

Helia--Congrats to your DSIL on her marriage. I know DD25 does want children, so I'm hopeful a nice fellow will come along. She is very good with her friends' children and a great cook...but then, I am biased!

mamapiano--My DS really loves to read C.S.Lewis, too.

MT--That's a great gift for the DGDs!

Elizabeth--That is wise to include ex-H. It's nice you could watch the little one at church.

Kathryn and Harmony--Hoping for you both to feel better soon.

Sweetie's picky too!!! He married for the first time at 62 and I am his first wife. He didn't have to wait that long... We grew up living next door to each other. He was 13 and I was 10. We hung out together for many years but never dated. Took him a long time to make up his mind.

Flying home from nj I met a man at the airport while we were waiting for the same plane. His cell phone kept ringing and I could tell he was really exited about something. Turned out he was flying to las Vegas to get married. His soon to be wife and he and also grown up next door to each other. They went to the same school and hung out together all through their childhood and teen years. They never dated. Then each married different people. Fifteen years later they were both divorced and went home for family/friend reunion. He said it was like being struck by lightning when he saw her again. I've never met anyone else with a similar story as mine and it was amazing how much we had in common. I don't believe I've ever met a grown man so excited about getting married. He was beyond giddy and it was so sweet to hear him talk about his "girl"

Too late for a lot of replies.

I had a desk morning, a kitchen cleanup, and straightened out some appointments on my calendar. I slept in a bit longer today after getting up very very early to help DH find a batch of papers...and then went back to bed.

Trip to town north of me to pick up medical file. Interesting to see how they condensed 31 years of dr. visits to 13 pages. I don't agree with everything he wrote, so I'm going to demand 2 minutes for rebuttal when I go to new dr. in a couple weeks!

I stopped in a thrift store on the way back into town. I don't get up that way very often, and that was a nice diversion for a change. I didn't buy anything, but discovered upon getting home that 4 dishes I saw exactly match a pattern I have...so I might have to go back up there sometime.

Drove back down to another town south of us and picked up a permit...

That all tired me out. It was a 50-mile round trip. I stopped at office supply store on the way back and got a packet of those cardboard storage boxes. I need to so something with these stacks of files sitting out in the office.

Nice nap this evening. Chronically tired these days. Beginning to think it's just a med side effect. And not sure I'll be able to do anything about that. I will know more in a couple weeks. Mentally I feel ok. It's a relief to determine that at least.

Headache is back... I took a long nap, also... and sorta "rebelled" this afternoon.
When I found out that dmom/ddad didn't really NEED me for anything, I told dh I was also not going to visit dmil w/him, I had done more than plenty running around the last few days and I was staying right here until he got back from that errand.
I did go get us a Philly cheese steak sandwich for supper -- I know... probably a million calories but mmmm... local grill makes such WONDERFUL ones, w/homemade potato chips on the side... mmmmm...
I also have not exercised the past two nights.
However, I am SLOWLY making progress w/school stuff. SLOWLY.
Feel bad b/c I have not given students a "test" grade yet. I've taken some daily grades, but I really haven't TESTED them on anything. I'm just not good at the "getting started" part of the year. We've done work every day, all day... just no TEST grades. * sigh * I feel like a bad teacher. OTOH -- their averages should be very good to start off the year!
