I finally got a candle lit for dear Indiana.

To pass info about the candle site - Someone/or several from another board I've been involved with set it up to cope with their own grief....
And it has taken off - easilly found in a search of virtual candles.
Each year on the other board they have a month or two where they link to the candle site - I think they must call the group name the person they are honouring - setting up one for each of past members who were truely treasured and inspirational and links on the board to a thread - synopsis of their story. Thats where I found the candle site.

Back from dinner, movie and a bit of grocery shopping (the parking for the theatre is at a grocery store.)

Movie was depressing for me. It is called Queen of Versailles and it is a riches to rags story about David and Jackie Siegel. Originally the story was to be about the building of the biggest house in America but then the recession hit and it was about their not being able to sell the unfinished house and not being able to refinance their business (he had the biggest time-share business in the world or US, not sure which.) She kept saying she was smart but she didn't know enough to potty train her dogs, clean up after herself, raise her children, etc., etc. She didn't grow up rich so would have had to live a normal life at one point but has forgotten how to do so and doesn't seem interested in learning how to do it again. I'm not sure which bugged me more - the excess or the mal-treatment of the children - they were spoiled beyond belief and now with crisis might have to "Go to college!" <gasp!!!!> and earn a living. To even think that a child is to not discover and then rise to their highest potential but to be coddled and spoiled for their whole life is abusive.

I got really tired between dinner and the movie because we had to stand for 25 minutes waiting for the theatre to let us in (old fashioned theatre, the kind where you line up outside and when the show prior to yours lets out, you go in.) That I couldn't do and dh had to find me a place to sit (with another patron who is on radiation and couldn't stand outside either.) I'm finding I can manage things as long as they go fine, but if there's a long line-up that causes a delay, then I'm not ok.

Lynlee...extreme crackle excellent word to describe what I heard,then felt and then saw right before the thunder. I think my mind processed what had just occurred before I understood it in real time. And it is the reason I was pulling my hand away from the water and faucet just before the lightning came firing out of the spicket. There was probably a five second delay between the time the lightning hit the ground till it came out the faucet.

I always thought it was hog wash when I was told you could be hit by lightning when it wasn't raining until that day.trust me, seeing how much lightneing came out of that faucet made a true believer out of me that day. All I pups think of after that day is what could happen to me if I'd been in the shower washing my hair...Electicfying comes to mind

Good Evening, Everyone. I thank you for wishing me to feel better today. When I woke, my throat was sore, I felt like I had a terrible cold, but it could have been allergies. After a hot shower, I felt so much better and took it slow today.

I've been re-reading the posts, since I wasn't on-line much today.

Kathryn, Your projects sound so well-organized and rewarding, which will bless others in years to come.

Scattered, Once again, congratulations, they have faith in you, and I loved your essay. You're so intelligent!

Lilac, dindiana was just 1/2 year older than me. I wish I had known her. Will this site change now that she's no longer with us? Or do you, Kathryn, take care of things here. Just curious. dindiana sounded like a very warm, dedicated and giving person.

Harriet, I think I'll do what you're doing, too! I'll pop in to Cardfile Control, too!

How does a list pad person become a card person? Just by writing lists on cards? I have lists everywhere, for different things. I suppose I could categorize items on lists and assign them a card color and take it from there. Cardfile Control will help. Thanks for the idea, Harriet!
