For music style here, I'll choose gospel. Was remembering in church that DM and I could not share a hymnal without laughing as we both were always so off key! I do love to sing, though, and it is truly a joyful noise. My paternal uncle was choir leader at his church for 40 years and my maternal great-grandfather led his church choir for 16 years in the early 1900's until their church was washed away in a flood. So I guess the love of singing comes naturally, just didn't get the talent! DS can really sing, though, so that gene got passed on somehow. BTW, that GGF used to sing on the radio in a quartet. I have one of their typed scripts that was in the old family Bible.

Trash is by the road for pickup in the morning. O happy day--have mentioned before how I love trash day!

Not sure what else will get done today--probably not too much shuffling, swooping, or swinging--but I do like your opening!
How you do your work is a portrait of yourself.

Ellyphant: don't think you can't sing. So many of us are told that at some point and stop singing out on a regular basis. The voice is one part of the body that improves with practice so sing every day if you can. At a workshop on congregational singing I attended in the spring, I learned that many, many, people (including the leader of the workshop who now a globally respected Protestant music leader) have been told they can't sing, when they really can.

When I'd sing to ds while nursing, he's reach up and put his hand over my mouth to stop me. Talk about a hit to one's confidence.

This summer, the feed back I got through back-channels is that members of the church I preached at in July would like me to substitute in the future because I can sing. (Not sure what that says about my preaching (!), but it does show how my voice has evolved as the Spirit moved me to become a preacher.)

So continue to make a joyful noise, but every day of the week, not just on Sundays!

Back from church. Will teach next Sunday so brought home the curriculum. It will be a good test to see if I can be 'on' for the whole service (prerequisite to being able to do pulpit supply.)

Dh is making french toast for himself for lunch and I'll have a BLT. Then I'll drive him to the airport. Can feel myself getting weaker so will rest as much as I can in the car on the way in.

Ugh slept til 1 pm now I can't wake up. Not sure what I am doing today besides laundry.

Didn't get home until after midnight and then didn't go to bed until after 1:30

To Do List
Lots of coffee
sort laundry
wash laundry
dry laundry
fold laundry
put away laundry

Separated out the list so it doesn't look pathetic... It may change as I wake up.

Morning y'all...

I can't sing...and I always do. I have perfect pitch, but terrible tone. I sing all the time, in my car, in the house, when I'm outside and when I was teaching. My kids were always teasing me....whoops, there goes Ms. C again. I would threaten my kids with my singing if they didn't behave ;)

I have done the Sunday shuffle and cleaned part of the house. Two loads of laundry done. I have a hair appointment at 12:45 and then when I get home Sweetie and I may go to a movie. It looks like rain again this afternoon and that would be lovely..provided of course that I am on the right roads in case of flash floods. Thinking of carrying a life preserver in my car...I think it might come in handy some day. That guy y'all probably saw on the national news would most likely agree. The school district just 3 miles from my house and over where Norma and Mr. Guy live was closed down for the day due to flash flooding. That aught to tell you something. I've lived through many hurricanes and seen flooded areas, but when these flash flood show up, you'd better watch out. Problem is, the sun may be brightly shining above your head, but if you're on the same road where its been raining really hard you'd better watch out. One moment you're sailing down the street in you car with all wheels on the ground and the next you're just sailing down the road. Some people are stupid when we get these flash flood warnings and others are just unlucky. I put warnings of flooding and warnings of lightning in the same book.

Ok...need to get ready. Wal mart is right next to the girlie store where I get my hair cut....hummmmm, the more I think about it the better the idea of a life preserve sounds :D

Enjoy your day....cy'all later..........

Pretty long day already -- church, then babysitting. Dgs has been a little bit fussy, but not too bad. I got in a VERY short nap, which is probably good. Maybe I'll sleep tonight since I didn't have my usual all-afternoon Sunday nap.
I know I should call dparents, and probably should go out there & take dgs... but OTOH, there is sooo much to do around here, and I'm trying to get some of it done!
I've stripped the bed, washed the sheets, washed two additional loads of clothes, and plan to do another.
Also read the paper -- sorta.
Need to finish school work.
Tomorrow is another day.
