Hello to Kally! Been wondering, how is your mother doing?

Harmony, how do you feel?

To sing or not to sing...I am one who was told as a teen not to sing because my voice wasn't good enough. This was an older cousin. I have no idea whether she had a leg to stand on in her opinion at that time but I was impressionable and peer-conscious.

Later when I was helping my late dh in a ministry situation with few workers, the choir leader begged for choir members and I agreed to ride along with my talented bass husband to practices to try. She said she was glad to have me and often people would ask me why I never sang out before. I hardly believed them until one choir practice when the man who did the technical sound stuff (and was a quick critic) was close to another mic as I finished a practice of a solo, and he was audible saying "beautiful voice"... about me!

Nowadays I sing from the pew, though, because of the tendency to get emotional in a choir. I suppose some psychologist could explain that to me as having something to do with associating my late dh with choirs. Also, in our church the choir is pretty much over in favor of the praise band now. I did enjoy helping in one play when 3 of us ladies sang "backup" (lol) to the narration at one point. I was only there waiting to drive dd home after a practice and the other 2 just dragged me up between them saying, "help"!

mamap, I should have specified that woodwinds are separate from the brass for dd14's band class -- until they do rehearsals for the concerts. I just learned that recently. Maybe that makes it go faster? Yeah, it would seem to take a lot of time. Music program here has an excellent reputation, so it must work out in the end. Seat auditions, which will happen soon, are one-on-one w/ the band director. I believe those are recorded for accurate perusal later.

I can sing in tune and even harmonize a bit, even a bit by ear -- but I do not have a beautiful or strong voice.

Just finished a girlie movie with the girls. Dh called and will be home around midnight.

I need to get picture forms filled out for dgirls. Picture retakes are tomorrow, which they need to have done since they were out of town for the original day - registration.

Hope the busy weekend with company was a good one, Dee. Hope the Dr. appt. goes well tomorrow.

I'm off to get the forms filled out and tuck the girls in bed.

I have a heat lamp, straw in a basket no way of knowing if the temp. is okay other than feel. Need to get a thermoter. Called the dry hatch method. They felt too hot I moved the lamp then it was too cool said h. who's attempts as a kid were not successful.

I've learned reading back yd. chicken website that you can get free range eggs at the store warm em up to room temp. 24-48 hrs. then let hen set on 'em. Will give those a try next! [Couldn't hurt and will be a great for dgson's 4-h or science project!] How fun is that!?

Nancy, how about warming up those eggs in the microwave? Oooooh, sorry, not funny. Good luck with that project.

Well I'm not dancing around these days. More like limping.

Helia, your DH evidently doesn't know what we She's know: sometimes we get productive and accomplish something just so that we can say here that we did!

Oh, Scattered! Keep those keys away from me. Sometimes I wonder. When I was getting acquainted with my now dFriend from church and we'd been chatting off and on for a while...she finally told me she was some sort of psychologist in her working years. I told her she probably thinks I'm nuts - and I was really concerned - but she said I sounded perfectly normal. I sure hope she didn't say that just to be nice!

Didn't have such a great day. Last evening I went back and did a bunch more work at my desk, found a couple huge files no longer needed and I purged another wire basket full of papers, bagged up the rest and put that into the storage closet in the office way up top. I really felt great to get that much done yesterday.

But today I was fine when I got up and got ready for church. And church didn't exhaust me like it usually did. I worked on a couple projects that should have taken me an hour tops, but took me a few... then I napped for the rest of the day until about 7:00.

I wish I was doing better. Maybe this is the new normal for me?

Got a picture frame redone with newer pictures and rehung. It was all taken down, the table in that corner, etc. with our electronics job...so now the family room is about complete. I even dusted some of it.

Tomorrow is another day. I am trying not to think about all the chores I need to do tomorrow. I hope I am up to it. Night all.

Okay been watching TV; flipping back and forth between a movie and the Broncos game. I'm a Dallas fan but DS19 is a Denver fan, so we are both happy this week. Unfortunately DS13's team lost to mine but he'll be happy when he finds out that the Jets won, he has two teams the Giants and the Jets.

Got all the laundry folded, so will just have to put them away tomorrow. Past my bedtime so I had better head off, goodnight all.
