On 9/11 Mr. Guy and I had just left Bend, OR where we had spent the night. We were on our way from my Mother's in Vancouver, WA to our home in Nevada. We turned on the radio and listened in horror as to what was going on. I quick called my dMom and she was watching it on TV. I was in shock and when the plane hit the Pentagon I lost it - totally lost it. I have never been so frightened. We had to stop for gas and some water at Klamath Falls and then we beat feet for home. I sat glued to the TV for hours. Just as where I was and what I was doing at JFK's assassination and the Challenger tragedy I will always always remember and mourn. Sad , very sad. I also remember that on the first anniversary of 9/11 we were just walking up to Old Faithful in Yellowstone Park when a group of jet fighters flew over - flying very low. I remembered then that the President had ordered our national monuments to be guarded all day. It was a thrill to see these fighters from Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. On guard, protecting our country.
