Wow, cowinkie. I actually didn't know you were in the NYC area back then and knew so many people who died that day. ((HUGS)) I do remember ds' 2nd grade teacher at the time told me her ds was working in one of the towers. That whole morning, she had no idea if he had gotten out or not. By that afternoon, she knew: he had gotten out and was OK. How tense that morning must have been for her.
Working on talk slowly. ..

Re: Wednesday Opportunities
I was cackling aloud when I read Norma's post. Emptynester is a bit overwhelmed today, ya think! Now in fairness, Norma and Dove's avatars have similarities... ... different concept, though.
Yes, ma'am, helia.
I will fetch him here.
Cowinkie's mention of her own personal photographs of the World Trade Center throughout its long and important existence makes me think I will try again to post the link to dd's photo essay about the Center itself. I don't think it is unnecessarily emotional (it is emotional) , but it is commemorative of the whole of the life of the Center. I was back and forth to this board as she worked on it in May and posted about it then, how her photo choices seemed to just fall into place with her music choice. She only moved a couple photos and suddenly it had finished itself.

(((Cowinkle)))) So many lost in 9/11. I hope your DFriend heals quickly from this morning owie.
Papers are finished and in the hands of new paralegal. ***GASP*** I felt a bit panic'd when I walked into lawyer office to find a new paralegal. The one I have worked with on LO case for the past 4 years is no longer there. ***GULP** Hopefully the new one will pick up the reigns in this case and go forward without a hitch.
I bought DGS17 and DGS15 book bags and delivered them to their home. The ones they started with at beginning of school has already bit the dust. I hope these last longer.
alarm just went off.....time to pick LO up from school. We are then going to visit DMIL and DParents

Re: Wednesday Opportunities
Dh and I went to R M House with all the pop-tabs. Got some 'houses' for some people here. then we went to the hospital to visit a couple of people. Stopped on the way back to get a 'steak bomber'. We ate 1/2 of it for lunch and saved 1/2. This is a place that's been open for 50 years. Dh used to go there when he worked at the big yellow box. The Travel Channel did a spot on one of their restaurant shows on this spot.
I sat in the recliner to read and guess what! Of course, my eyes closed for quite a spell.
Neighbors across the road are taking us to dinner for whatever reason tonight. I think it's because he's been coming over to use our internet to download on his K indle. Told him we didn't need him to pay us, but there you have it. Going about 6 so dh should be coming soon to go for his shower.
Mentioned to dd how tired I was and she said, "Mom! You had Uncle D & Aunt P there for 3 days, then the trial verdict, then dfriends next door coming up from FL and today's runnings. Guess I am more mentally tired than anything.

Re: Wednesday Opportunities
I'm up too.
Didn't sleep until 5 and then had a 30 minute nap that brought me back to life. I could hear the wind outside and decided I had to get the sheets off the line.
I'll have something light for dinner, probably a BLT since I still have tomatoes to eat up and it is sort-of healthy.

Re: Wednesday Opportunities
I've been smiling all day about HRH.
His Royal HIghnesss is a great name for a DH. I just asked MY DH, however, "WHAT would YOU like to be called?"
He said nothing, so he'll be plain old DH.
I had my flu shot yesterday, this morning I started laundry washing, and dumped trash, since it's garbage day tomorrow. As the day wore on, in the later morning, I felt terrible! I thought what if this was a flu shot reaction, after all these years?
I looked everywhere for my flu shot info sheet, of course it was in my day runner, which I took to my appt. and was on the end table. Got the sore stinging arm, low grade fever, and fatigued, so I took myself a 2-hour nap.
My cat was closed out of the bedroom, because SHE naps in the afternoon on our bed, so she was mad at Mama.
Kathryn, I'm glad your 30-min. nap brought you back to life, too. Yummy! Can I come to YOUR house to help eat a BLT?
Sounds so yummy!
Scattered, sorry you're run down and dragging.
Hope you get your homework done before your rest, OR that a good rest will help you get your homework done easier.
Emptynester, Life is GOOD when we veg out.
Dee, That place sounds like a wonderful place to eat at.
Gee, we're all resting.
(((Cowinkie))) 9/11 was such a rough day for so many. It must have been so scary for you, too.
Hope your Dfriend heals quickly, too. We have DFriends and the mother died in a FL hospital just as 9/11 was happening on the TV in her hospital room. So it's like a double-whammy for them on 9/11. They remember that day, as all of us do, plus their DMom.
I guess I'll go look at a to do list I wrote last night, to see if I got something done on it today. Did call the ins. co. and that's 1 thing down. Need to re-check my 3 x 5's, too.
Have a wonderful evening, Everyone.

Re: Wednesday Opportunities
Hi everybody! Home from work. Still doing the 12 hour wheelchair taxi job 5 days a week.
I don't do much around here during the week unless I get an unexpected day off. I tend to do the most on Sundays.
Mike "retired" in April of 2012 so he does the dishes every day and generally picks up after himself and keeps the place tidy. He also does all the cooking and makes me a lunch every night for the next day. Tonight we are having stuffed peppers.
