** Paperwork focus. I need to hit this seriously hard today. The week is almost over and i have done almost nothing in this category. Not beating myself up, but just acknowledging the facts.
** LO to swim lessons

Scattered - LO is the acronym used for 4 year old grandson we are raising (with help from many including the wise ladies on this forum!). Years ago LO stood for Little One, however he has outgrown that (he is off the growth chart for his age). Our DIndiana recently suggested several possible meanings that fit him better now. I think the one I like the best is Loved One.

Good morning!

I had an extremely productive evening but ended up with light's out at midnight so didn't wake up until 8. It was warmish when I went to sleep but cooled off nicely overnight so I had a very good sleep and feel like I have energy this morning. It will be summery warm today so there's a load of laundry waiting for me to hang up when I get out of bed and I'll shut the windows when I get out of bed in order to keep the house cool.

My main activity today is a church meeting today which I chair so I have to prep for that. I'll also do the prep for Sunday school. Aside from that and dailies, I have housework to do. I'll probably mop the foyer floor but I might use the scrubber on it too. The kitchen floor is due for a scrub so I have to decide how I'll expend my energy. Stay tuned for an exciting update!

I'll be waiting for that 'exciting update' with bated breath, Kathryn! I also somehow missed the hepatitis part. But you're right, the boards have been extremely busy in the past weeks with lots of happenings in several lives here.

I'm not waiting for the 24th to be in prayer, Okay. You're in mine for the long haul.

Didn't do too well with my 5x5 yesterday -did 3 out of 5. Well, guess that was better than nothing. So today I'll carry over 2 that I didn't get done. and add to them. At least it spurred me to get something done!

No appointments today or deadlines. Feels good. Have to have dh to an appointment with our financial advisor tomorrow at 9. I'm hesitant to go in, so dh may do this one on his own. Told him if he comes out with a smile I'll be fine.

Monday, dh has to be to the same hospital we went to yesterday. He's taking part in a study for COPD. DDIL#2 told us about it (she works for the University there) and figured dh might be a good candidate. According to all the questions they asked, it sounds like he's just what they're looking for. Guess I better do a list of his meds and who his pulmonologist is. At least I'll have the info if it's needed.

Hmmm....dh's 'pile' of shoes is growing. That better be first up before it explodes more. Actually it's only TWO pairs of crocs, but they have a way of expanding on their own.

Today is a travel day as we head to the National Rally. Not sure where we will sleep tonight - it will be either the Elks or Wally or somewhere. We don't worry too much as we are so self contained.

We have our first "cold" morning of the fall. This morning I took 18 pairs of shorts off hangers in LO closet and replaced them with TWO pair of sweat pants. A shopping trip for winter pants is definitely needed. I knew he needed long pants but have been postponing buying them because he is growing so fast. The time has come to do it! He still struggles with button/snap on waist of regular jeans so he is wearing only elastic waist pants to school.

How do you teach to do buttons? It seems to be such a simple concept. LO tries with the button on his shirt but gets frustrated when they won't "go through".
The snaps are usually too hard for him to push together until they click. He doesn't have the finger strength to do it yet.
I've ordered a book to help teach him how to tie shoes. Until he masters that, he is wearing shoes with velcro closures to school. Boots are easy solution.....however he needs to be able to wear the jeans with them.....and he can't button/snap the jeans by himself after he goes to the bathroom.
OH! If only this was the only problem of the entire world!

I need to get back on track. Grabbing timer.....*POOF*

OOOOHHHHH, Shoe Tying! There was a piece on the radio about that last week. Apparently, in Bittersweet's neck of the woods there's a shoe store that has a shoe tying academy. They have giant men's shoes with large, thick, laces and use those to teach kids. The oldest they've taught was 12 but the salesperson said she's run into a 17 year old who couldn't buy the shoes they wanted because they couldn't tie laces. http://www.shesorganized.net/phpbb/post ... =17&t=2805#

As for buttons - we had something that had a giant buttons and holes for the kid's to play with and that taught them the motion. Then it was just a matter of them working on the fine motor skills. Remember LO is a boy and only 4, fine motor skills are just now starting to be developed. I know with his size, you may have trouble finding appropriate clothes since 7 or 8 year olds do have that skill so their clothes include snaps and buttons.

I'm off to a good start (although it is 10:45.)

Did not want to get out of bed this morning... still want to go back to bed but know that I need to be up for a little bit or I will not be able to take a nap this afternoon which will screw up tonight since I have to work.

Tummy seems okay this morning, so I am going to believe that yesterday was a 24 hr bug.
